Consumer Complaint: The mortgage for our Virginia home was obtained in the summer of XXXX with Wells Fargo. At that time, a contingency requirement of obtaining the mortgage was adding a home warrantee with XXXX XXXX XXXX. Years later we heard in the news about this unfair ( and illegal ) practice and that Wells Fargo was supposed to drop this requirement and compensate affected customers. After doing some research we learned Wells Fargo officially " discontinued '' this practice in XXXX. In XXXX and in XXXX, we called Wells Fargo to inquire about dropping the home warrantee and were told it was " not possible. '' We were also informed there would be a " penalty '' ( nonspecific ) if we were to allow the home warrantee coverage to lapse. We don't want to refinance the mortgage and spend XXXX in more fees with another company in order to cease paying the annual home warrantee fee. Initially the home warrantee fee was {$600.00} per year but it has increased over time to {$750.00} per year. We've paid the fee each year to XXXX XXXX XXXX, in total around {$9200.00}.

This apparently fell through the cracks and did not get closed. Purchases were made by a different party on the card that I thought was closed by well Fargo. Well Fargo declined any type of resolution on this. I feel they should be held responsible for their mistake and not me. The amount is {$4300.00} that I had no idea about. Consumer Complaint: I am submitting this complaint against WELLS FARGO due to the article recently released online, which can be found here https : XXXX, as well as their continued ILLEGAL PRACTICES with loan modifications. as well as this articleXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, which alleges wells fargo allowed a foreign bank to illegally make hundreds of millions in transactions. as well as this article, XXXX XXXX XXXX, which is a text book description of exactly what wells fargo did to me. I lost my job due to covid-19 and couldn't pay my mortgage. i reached out to wells fargo and was told by an employee " we can offer you the deferment program and when you are ready to resume payments we will take the missed payments and add them to the end of the loan in months, your APR will not change and your monthly payment will NOT change. '' when i went to resume my monthly payment i was told " i DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE in what program i use. '' i was then given the option to sign paperwork that restarted my mortgage to 360 months, changed my APR and increased my monthly payment from XXXX to over XXXX, or BE FORECLOSED ON. WELLS FARGO then threatened to foreclose on me if i did not submit the paper work in time. My principal balance on the loan when i initially bought the house was XXXX XXXX, AFTER the illegal loan modification, and paying 7 years of mortgage payments, my NEW principal balance is XXXX XXXX. so if you do business with WELLS FARGO you get to pay seven years of mortage payments, ontime, never missing one, and they thank you by taking those payments, and screwing you over the first chance they get. My " choices '', which WELLS FARGO TOLD ME I HAVE NONE, were 1. sign the paperwork, lose close to 8 years of mortgage payments, restart my loan to 30 years, increase my APR to 7 % roughly, increase my monthly payment to XXXX plus. or 2. LOSE MY HOUSE AND LIVE ON THE STREET .... so we have WELLS FARGO saying one thing then doing the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. This is a record keeping submission. I want to be fully involved with what ever lawsuits or court decisions come from this banks practices as a whole. WELLS FARGO took advantage of me and is taking advantage of thousands of other people. By doing business with wells fargo, they stole 7 years of mortgage payments from me and LIED through their teeth to get it. if i was told at the onset of this entire ordeal that " YOU DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE IN WHAT PROGRAM YOU USED. '' i would have NEVER deferred my mortgage. i WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE SECOND JOB AND MADE ENDS MEET. but on the untruthful word of a WELLS FARGO EMPLOYEE, who refused to give any identify information about herself, i thought the bank was going to help its customer during covid. the bank only HINDERED its customer to HELP its own gain. WELSS FARGO needs to license to bank in this country REVOKED.

Consumer Complaint: The Wells Fargo website offers services that Wells Fargo has no intention of providing to its customers. I have had a Wells Fargo checking account for over twenty years. On XX/XX/2023 I used Wells Fargo online banking to make many attempts at opening a savings account. I tried to do this with both XXXX and XXXX. Regrettably, none of my attempts were successful. When I telephoned Wells Fargo about this bug, several Wells Fargo reps stated that Wells Fargo is unable to troubleshoot its website. After several telephone calls to Wells Fargo, my issue was finally escalated to the Executive Office on XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, my case has not been assigned to a Case Specialist. Wells Fargo has stated that I will have to wait until XX/XX/XXXX before further action is taken on my case. This is unacceptable.

Consumer Complaint: I recently received a hardship distribution from my 401 ( k ) account.I then deposited the check into my Wells Fargo account.The very next day I got an alert from Wells Fargo, claiming that they were unable to receive funds from the check and that the funds will be available in my account in two weeks. I called Wells Fargo several times to try and resolve this issue. I called their loss prevention department to have them call the maker of the check to verify and to call the bank to verify the funds were in there. I explain to them that this was a hardship distribution so that the funds were needed urgently I was then informed that I would need something notarized from XXXX XXXX and something notarized from XXXX XXXX, XXXX and order for me to get my funds these funds came directly out of my retirement account. I have never experienced anything like this in my life in regards to depositing a check. This is extremely unethical. And they should be investigated because basically theyre using my funds without giving me access to them. And giving me the runaround

Consumer Complaint: We failed to be given a loan modification by Wells Fargo numerous times, and eventually had to file for XXXX XXXX protection to prevent us from foreclosure. We are currently in an ongoing XXXX XXXXXXXX, with a rather high plan payment of $ XXXX, that is due to increase to over {$12000.00} a month in XX/XX/2023. Because of this, we are now forced to sell our home, and based on everything I hear and read, Wells Fargo has been convicted of predatory loan practices, which I now know we were victims of. As the equity in our home is all we have, and we now have to sell our home or loose it, it is critical an audit of the payoff of our mortgage is conducted, so we only have to pay them what is fair and accurate. I am confident Wells Fargo has added excessive fees and charges to our loan payoff balance, that are not legitimate/correct.
