Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with paying off the loan
Consumer Complaint: My lease financed through Chrysler Capital for a 2018 XXXX XXXX XXXX was paid off via dealer buyout, when trading in for a new vehicle purchase at another dealer, for the agreed upon buyout price. However, Chrysler Capital has continued to apply the regular monthly " amount due '' to my account as well as assess late fees, even though the account was paid in full, and even reported closed on my credit reports. *A payment was made for the regular amount due ( but not late fees ) for fear of having to then fight a missed payment reported to the credit agencies.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Chrysler Capital added a derogatory mark on my credit report per XXXX XXXX. Upon further investigation, I have retained new copies of my credit reports, and noticed that Chrysler Capital did not furnish the credit bureaus with the required disclosure, within the period required by law. Chrysler Capital is required by federal law to place a notice of dispute on my account within 30 days of my dispute, which Chrysler Capital signed for on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. I have retained a copy of there signature and date of receipt, as well as a time-stamped copy of my credit reports, showing that Chrysler Capital has violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 623 ( a ) ( 3 ) and/or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Section 807 ( 8 ) by not placing the disclosure within the required 30-day period.

Consumer Complaint: Santander is not following through with their Multi-State settlement terms. I fall under the criteria to get the loan forgiven, get it cleared off my credit, and the title to my car. Received a postcard from the law firm handling this back in XX/XX/2020 and no word from Santander for anything. I have called their phone number and all agents have no knowledge of the settlement and will not forward me to anyone higher.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, I am writing to complain about Santander Consumer USA ( auto loan lender ) .I was late on my car note from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, so I have eleven late payments in total that reflect on my credit report. At the time I had lost my full time job and I had to depend on other people to help which was not a consistent thing. By the time I was able to make one payment, I was already behind the next and the late fees kept building up & it went on that way for months. I was struggling to support me and my daughter to keep the lights on, so I had to prioritize what was needed first. I am back on my feet and I'm very stable with my finances, but these late payments are prohibiting me from obtaining a home for me and my daughter. I wrote Santander Consumer USA a few goodwill letters asking to please remove some of these late payments and I'm assuming I'm either being ignored or denied because I've yet to receive any correspondence from them. I sent a letter in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, I don't have the letters to attach because they were hand written.I feel like Im at a dead end with this situation, and I'm not sure what I can do next. I am hoping that someone from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau can please help and assist me with this matter. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Santander Consumer USA has been continuously reporting a car loan that I did not own and was supposedly cosigned on. I disputed this negative information with them after I discovered that this loan was included in one of the 34 states ( FL ) and years that the lawsuit against Santander Consumer USA took place. XXXX XXXX XXXX, ( the collection agency that Santander sold this account to ) removed this account from my report but Santander refused to for some reason. This negative information is affecting my credit and living situations tremendously and I feel this account should be removed.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: I co-signed on an auto loan with Santander ( SCUSA/GATEWAY ONE ), I had to co-signed since my boyfriend at the time was what banks label as high risk borrower, however Santander accepted to finance the vehicle as long he gets a co-signer and with a little higher interest rate. Unfortunately, the loan became impossible to pay, base on our calculations 95 % of the monthly payments went to the interest and not to the principal, me and the cosigned had to stop making the payments and the vehicle was repossessed, sold and the finance company is collecting a deficiency balance. A few weeks ago, during a web search, I found there us a coalition of multiple attorney generals who recently announced a settlement with Santander Consumer, this settlement includes money in relief for the consumers and deficiency waivers. I found this settlement resolve a lawsuit that Santander violated consumer protection laws by exposing subprime consumers, high risk borrowers, to unnecessarily high levels of risk and knowingly placing these consumers into auto loans with high probability of default. I really think my loan is part of this allegations against Santander since they put us in an extremely high risk of default with an incredible high interest rate. I contacted the settlement administrator and they asked me to contact Santander, I did but every time I contact them advise me, I will get a letter or notifications in my mail, but they HAD never looked for my account ; so, there is nowhere to go.

Consumer Complaint: In 2016 my ex-boyfriend totaled his 2016 XXXX XXXX. I was a co-signer for this lease. The insurance company paid the lease off in full, and sent payment to Chrysler Capital. The lease is still showing up on my credit report nearly 5yrs later. I have called multiple times over the past 9 months to have this removed, and have been unsuccessful. All of the agents/managers tell me to wait, which I have, and it will be removed eventually. That is completely unacceptable, as it is ruining my credit score and my ability to apply for loans. All that I am asking for is written confirmation that this is a reporting error, and that it should not be on my credit report. 5 agents have confirmed this with me over the phone, but refuse to put it in writing. I have all of their names and badge numbers, and would be glad to share.

Consumer Complaint: I had a car loan with Santander Consumer USA , Inc. with a maturity date in XX/XX/2021. I made the last payment in XX/XX/2021 and checked the account several times later which was at XXXX balance. Someone from Santander Customer Service calls in XX/XX/2021 and tells me that I have a fee of {$140.00} to pay before I can receive the title of the vehicle which I pay while on the phone. While I was looking to refinancing my primary home mortgage and found out that Santander has reported me 30 days late to the credit bureaus for {$140.00}. Even that I was unaware of the {$140.00}, I paid them the same day they inform me about it. All I need from them is to correct the mistake and clear my name so I can procced with the refinance of my mortgage. Thanks XXXX XXXX XXXX
