Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted to XXXX XXXX letters requesting validation of a debt with Portfolio Recovery ( PRA ). I specified my request for validation with proof of original debt and ink signatures. XXXX claimes to have validated/updated this debt and maintains this record on my profile. In this process, I received a letter dated XXXX from PRA stating they would close my dispute ( without honoring my request for verification ) on the grounds of them not receiving information they requested. I did NOT receive this letter. I also checked the payment portal, and XXXX of the accounts on my credit file is no longer listed. PRA is refusing to honor my request for validation and has removed a debt from my account, but continues to report on my credit file. XXXX has clearly failed to do their due diligence in this dispute process, and I want these accounts removed immediately from my file.

By the federal law requirement this account must be removed because you do not have proof or any evidence to support this matter and failure to respond.

Consumer Complaint: The company has failed to verify or prove to me that this debt is mine and to even indicate I have ever allowed XXXX XXXXXXXX to open an account under my name with an address I've never been associated with before nor did I have any of these companies any written nor verbal authorization to open an account falsely under my name. I have not lived in XXXX for nearly a decade as I've been living in XXXX. Yet XXXX XXXX and this collection agency is falsely trying to collect a debt that isn't mine and was resulted from identity theft. It's the company responsibility to ensure that the account was opened under my authorization only and not without my knowledge or approval.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, Portfolio Recovery Associates sued me for the balance owing ( {$7100.00} ) on a XXXX XXXX credit card. I represented myself in Idaho magistrate court where I denied owing them any money. Following a bench trial, judgment was entered in my favor. The court ruled I was not responsible for the debt and dismissed the case on the merits, with prejudice. Portfolio Recovery refuses to remove the debt entry from my credit report after disputing with the credit bureaus XXXX time XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. I want this debt removed from my credit report.
