Consumer Complaint: Portfolio Recovery Associates , LLC has violated my rights and continuely try to collect debt that I don't owe. 15 USC 1692c ( a ) states without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may NOT communicate with a consumer in connection with collection of any debt. 15 USC 1692 b ( 4 ) states, NOT communicate by post card 15 USC 1692b ( 2 ) NOT state that such consumer owes any debt 15 USC 1692b ( 5 ) NOT use any language or symbol on any envelope or in the context of any communication effected by the mail or telegrams that indicates that the debt collector is in the debt collection business or that the communication relates to the collection of a debt.

Consumer Complaint: Portfolio Recovery has called me non stop back to back from several phone numbers and cities. Ive called them in XXXX to see if the debt for XXXX XXXX could be settled and they said its nothing they could do. Ive been unemployed since 2015 I have a son with special needs and have been trying to catch up on bills that are affecting my credit and ruining my chances of getting on my feet. My family has been helping me and was going to help me settle with them to stop the excessive calls. They were not willing to settle and now Im being sued and have to go to court. I was Served earlier this week and the calls have yet to stop. Can you please help me from being continuously harassed by multiple phone calls and their lack of professionalism.

Consumer Complaint: In response to my complaint, the documents attached by collection agency ( Reference number : XXXX of identification number XXXX of Portfolio Collection service- the document submitted for validation did not describe the details about specific products or services they claim that I purchased. The claim of cash withdrawal in this new document is not submitted with proper identification on what day and what place this transaction was done? In earlier validation the document submitted, this claim of cash withdrawal was not reported when I requested for full validation of the claimed debt. Furthermore, there is no direct communication from the original creditor regarding the charges claimed by the collection agency. The fraud complaint form from the collection agency can only be used after through validation is completed establishing about the claim by Portfolio.
