Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly
Consumer Complaint: I sent a letter over 60 days ago to Lexis Nexus about inaccurate, incorrect bankruptcies they are reporting on my consumer report to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. This company is in violation to ( 1 ) my right to privacy as I have contacted the court and was advised they DO NOT report any information the THIRD PARTIES. ( 2 ) I never gave you permission written or oral to report anything on my credit report which is a complete VIOLATION of 15 USC 1681A ( 4 ) ( b ) ( 2 ) which is to respect my right to privacy as a consumer. Violation # 2 Under 15 U.S. Code 1681b- Permissible purpose of consumer reports which means you had no right to utilize my report as this was not for unemployment nor insurance. I have failed to hear any response from Lexis Nexus and I'm tired of my request being ignored. It has been more than enough time to respond to me and this is a violation under FCRA.

Consumer Complaint: Companies use LexisNexis Identity Verification services to verify identity. XXXX and XXXX ( the travel pre-check service ) both used LexisNexis Identity Verification in attempt to verify my identity. The automatically generated questions that LexisNexis 's product came up with were entirely inaccurate/ impossible for me to answer. One asked about someone named XXXX XXXX ( have no idea who that is ). Another asked what professional certifications I had ( none of which were relevant ). Both with XXXX and with XXXX, I failed the Identity Verification because of LexisNexis 's flawed product and inaccurate questions. I would like to rectify this problem as fast as possible.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a letter to Lexis Nexis because they are reporting inaccurate and unverifiable information on my report. They completely ignored my request. I then contacted them via telephone which is also a hassle because they always have to call me back. I previously contacted the courthouse, spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX on XX/XX/2021, at XXXX and she stated that they do not do any business with the credit reporting agencies, hence, they do not report anything to anyone, Lexis Nexis. Consumer Complaint: I obtained my LexisNexis credit report. On my XXXX credit report this needs to be removed from my credit file. This was removed from my XXXX XXXX XXXX because incorrect information. There were U. S. Bankruptcy Court items listed on my credit reports. Per the FCRA623 ( a ) ( 5 ) : If the Credit Bureau can not VALIDATE the information with the ORIGINAL CREDITOR, they must remove said information from the consumer credit file. The United States Bankruptcy Courts Western District of Tennessee have mailed me letters which emphatically stated that they do NOT provide any information to credit reporting agencies that i attach to my letter, nor do they ever validate and/or confirm public records also this dates are wrong. It is the credit reporting agencies, and/or other third party providers who collect information regarding public cases from public records. Public records information is NEVER validated by the Recorder of Deeds nor the U. S. Court system due to the Fair Credit Reporting Agency PRIVACY LAW. My inquiry to the United States Bankruptcy Courts XXXX XXXX of Tennessee confirmed XXXX Credit Bureau has never validated or verified these public record entries on my credit report, nor will they ever be by them. They further stated while they are NOT liable or responsible for any MISUSE or INCORRECT public records, nor the distribution of said information, public records may, and oftentimes are, reported by third party sources unawares to the consumer, and in most cases, incorrectly. Considering the information indicating a Fair Credit Reporting Act violation, I need this bankruptcy information currently showing under my social security number to be PERMANENTLY DELETED from my credit report immediately.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX is reporting via 3rd Party ( reported to be LexisNexis ) a Chapter XXXX Dismissed Bankruptcy allegedly report to be in XX/XX/XXXX. I contested this reporting directly with XXXX in writing ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and they responded that it was reported by a 3rd Party ( LexisNexis ) to them. I then filed a Complaint ( XX/XX/XXXX ) in writing directly with LexisNexis after being told this was the reporting 3rd Party by XXXX. Initially they gave me the " round around '' asking for identifying personal information that they had already been provided. I provided this info again as well as filed a Complaint ( XX/XX/XXXX attached ) against them with the NC Attorney General 's Office Consumer Protection Division. LexisNexis then responded that the contested Bankruptcy information had been deleted from my file with them. I then in writing ( XX/XX/XXXX ) relayed that information along with another contest of the reporting to XXXX and included the document ( attached ) from LexisNexis stating that the Bankruptcy filing had been removed from my file with them. XXXX as a result started a " new '' Dispute investigation and on XX/XX/XXXX notified me that it was complete and the the 3rd Party had " verified '' the Bankruptcy information. That's not true or possible as LexisNexis themselves verified in writing that the information had been removed from their files just two weeks earlier. In addition the Federal Bankruptcy Clerk of Court as per US Bankruptcy Court Policy does not verify or report bankruptcy cases to any credit bureau 's or other such 3rd Party 's.

Consumer Complaint: I XXXX XXXX is currently submitting a complaint regarding Lexis Nexis a consumer reporting agency. According to the FCRA 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 4 ) as a consumer with respect to my right to privacy so there is no such thing as a public record which Lexis Nexis has failed to comply to my right to privacy in which is a violation of the FCRA and is currently reporting a Bankruptcy ( Case Number XXXX ) on my consumer report. I have reached out to the bankruptcy court to check to see if they report to the consumer reporting agencies and they have responded and stated that they do not report to the consumer reporting agencies. In the attachment of this compliant you'll find the letter from the court stating such fact. Lexis Nexis has fished this information out and was not given permission to have information and pursuant to 15 USC 1681b ( 2 ) they did not have permissible purpose to furnish this information. I demand that this is removed immediately.
