Consumer Complaint: This is my forth attempt connecting with LexisNexis in order to have false/inaccurate and unverified information ( bankruptcy ) removed from my credit report. According to the most recent dispute, LexisNexis stated, LexisNexis, however, is governed by the FCRA and in accordance with the requirements delineated in Section 611 of that statute. LexisNexis is stating that I failed to provide identifying information ( ID, social, address ), however they also failed to VERIFY my identity and the validity of the bankruptcy before adding the false/negative information to my report. Therefore, they are in VIOLATION of FCRA section 604 which states a Consumer Reporting Agency may furnish a consumer report, and as LexisNexis stated, they are NOT a consumer reporting agency. They are a DATA CORPORATION who has SOLD incorrect and defamatory information about me to third parties XXXX and XXXX.

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing issue
Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Consumer Complaint: Since XXXX of XXXX, I have attempted with two companies, XXXX XXXX and XXXX, to use their products. I can not get through the process because the security questions generated by them have nothing to do with me. In XXXX of XXXX, per LEXISNEXIS website I submitted all of the documentation that they requested to have my nonverified public information report sent to me. I never heard back although I sent several emails asking about the issue. Approximately two weeks ago, I went through the process again and ( this time ) received a letter saying they couldnt send it because my information did not match up. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called them ( again ) and explained to them that I am not comfortable emailing my social security card and other documents with PI via the Internet in this environment and that they already have what I sent on file. After nearly one hour on the phone, the woman I spoke with confirmed that they do have it and she placed me on hold and requested and received permission to have my report sent to me. However, it appeared to her that my information was suppressed and that I had opted out. She instructed me to email yet another group within lexisnexis and they confirmed ( what I had thought ) someone name XXXX XXXX in XXXX, VA, opted out in XXXX. I confirmed with them that my name is XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX in my first name ) and that I live in XXXX XXXX XXXX and have never lived in XXXX, XXXX. They confirmed that they never received an opt out from me and sent it back to the consumer group. I then had to call back today and an agent by the name of XXXX # XXXX, refused to send me my file, which I had received permission to have sent just six hours earlier. They continue to try to blame the companies for generating the security questions, which may be true, but the security questions are relating to the wrong person by their own admission. They ignored my first request and even with the documentation they have for me establishing who I am and where I live, will not send my report. It should be noted that the two companies continue to tell me the exact opposite- that they engage lexisnexis and the questions are generated by them and that I have to contact them. Because lexisnexis collects aggregated information and this is their business, I am inclined to agree. Additionally, I have been through several background checks and have had to answer similar questions before, I know how the process works. I am unclear why they refuse to assist. I have done and provided everything they have asked. Complied with every confirmation and I continue to get nowhere. This has been going on since XXXX of XXXX.
