Subissue: Public record information inaccurate
Consumer Complaint: Please see the complaint that was sent to LexisNexis : Dear LexisNexis : I have recently looked at a copy of my credit report and see that you are still providing inaccurate information about a couple of bankruptcies that were filed. It is my understanding that this information must be reported correctly or else it must be removed. I think you are aware of this fact as well, which is why I am confused as to why this information is still being reported by YOU to the credit bureaus. I have already spoken with the courthouses that these bankruptcies were filed in, and I know that they did not provide you with this information as they explicitly stated that they don & # 39 ; t report information to anyone. My credit is being negatively impacted due to your neglectful reporting and I would appreciate it if you removed this bankruptcy from your system. As a consumer, the first violation is 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 4 ) - consumer rights to privacy. You infringed upon my consumers right to privacy by obtaining this erroneous information and selling it for profit. The second violation that I notice is 15 USC 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ) No Permissible purpose/ No written instruction. Upon the many other violations, I would like to give you the opportunity to fix this situation by removing this bankruptcy from your system within 15 days. Failure to respond or do the right thing ( i.e. Removal ) will result in a complaint to the CFPB, FTC as well XXXX. I do know my rights and youre violating them with this inaccurate information your company is reporting. Thank you, XXXX XXXX Without Prejudice

Consumer Complaint: I have disputed a bankruptcy that was inaccurately reporting on my credit report with Lexis Nexis. I received the attached letter from Lexis Nexis stating that they have removed the bankruptcy from my credit file on XX/XX/2023. However, the bankruptcy is still reporting with Lexis Nexis and all three credit bureaus : XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. I have reaching out to all agencies repeatedly after Lexis Nexis has notified me that it has been removed. It is now 30 days from the date of the letter from Lexis Nexis and the bankruptcy still has not been removed from my credit report. I am asking CFPB to please assist with having these agencies abide by the law in its entirety and delete this disputed item from my credit file. I am demanding that All agencies, Lexis Nexis, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX delete this bankruptcy immediately.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Personal information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I applied for credit with XXXX XXXX. They said they needed me to come in person and bring my government i.d . and my social security card. When I did, they said the information from their underwriting indicated that my social security number was associated with a deceased person. Upon further research, I found out the source of this significantly incorrect information was Lexis Nexis and that they had been reporting this since XXXX of XXXX. I reached out to Lexis Nexis on XX/XX/XXXX and was told to submit my issue and upload my driver 's license and social security card on their site, which I did on XX/XX/XXXX. I phoned Lexis Nexis on XX/XX/XXXX and was told this was still being researched. This is a HUGE issue for me and is creating problems over which I have no control. The fact it happened is disturbing and their lack of response time to correct it is unacceptable. I am now trying to renew my XXXX XXXX and it is still pending. My husband 's was renewed within a few days. I am now two weeks in and we submitted our renewal requests the same day. This is incredibly stressful and distressing.
