Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Unexpected increase in interest rate
Consumer Complaint: Up until XX/XX/XXXX statement, my interest rate was 16.49 %. XXXX statement it was increased to 16.99 %. XXXX statement it was increased to 17.74 %. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Chase to complain that my interest rate had been increased without notice to me. They stated that they didn't even see my rate at 17.74 % and they showed it was even 18.49 %. I was transferred to a XXXX, XXXX. She said a letter was sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX that was mailed separately from my bill. She was going to have this re-sent to me. I also closed the account on this date. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email stating I had a letter, but when I went to my account online, there was no letter. The XXXX statement did show an increased interest rate again of 18.49 %. XXXX statement showed another increase of 19.24 %- on a CLOSED account! I also closed it when the last statement was at 17.74 %. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Chase again to inform them of this. It was confirmed that the account was closed on XXXX. I was also told that they have no control over XXXX, that I wasn't allowed the contact information for the department that is, and that the XXXX is subject to review XXXX time every 6 months. I requested all correspondence to be re-sent to me from the past year but they said they couldn't do that. She would request the last letter to be re-sent to me again. I received that in the mail, dated XXXX but with no explanation as to why they are continuing to increase my interest rate, nor did they send me proof of having ever given me a 30 day notice. In fact, my XXXX statement shows another increase to 19.99 % interest!

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: About the middle of XX/XX/2022 I reported my card lost. The card was cancelled and replaced. I did not activate my card on purpose because I was thinking about not using it any more - instead of mileage get cash back. Before I activated the account they let 7 charges go through. One of the charges involved an account that was doing an automatic pay ( which I did not realize ). My card was not only not activated but they allowed a charge that didn't even have my last credit card number. This is my XXXX XXXX XXXX account with Chase bank. My mail goes to a po box . What if an employee took that card ( not activated ) and had a ball charging. I had to negotiate with the anual charger and received a credit of over {$100.00} dollars. I contacted customer service and then went to a bank and a bank manager gave me contact numbers and that's how I ended up here.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2021, my CHASE visa card was charged {$5.00}, {$16.00}, and {$25.00} all on the same day with a location in XXXX. I live in, and was in, Arizona at the time. I was at the XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that day, and did have my credit card with me, but they claimed they were ONLY ACCEPTING CASH that day. I filed a fraud claim with CHASE and it was denied because they claimed that the chip was " there '' and so the charges were not fraudulent. I then asked them what the charges were for as I had no receipts and I did NOT use that card that day at that facility. They told me they didn't have to provide receipts or tell me anything, really, because the card chip was " there ''. My average monthly credit card bill in 2021 was approximately $ XXXX. Which I paid off in full each month. Why would I submit a fraud charge for a total of {$46.00} when I had so much more charged on my card? I don't know why they couldn't/wouldn't/did n't provide receipts to me for what was purchased? Oh, because nothing was actually purchased. Usually I carry my cards in an RFID protected carrier. I believe I did not have it that day. Either way, they should have provided the receipts. It has now gone to collections and I owe {$400.00}. I have explained to the collections agency that it was fraud but I have not heard back.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX of 2022 I purchased a XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX of XXXX in XXXX, VA. I took out a loan through them and XXXX takes out loans through Chase bank. I realized a week or XXXX later that I wanted to switch the loan over to my bank XXXX. I called XXXX and filled out the information necessary for the loan to be switched over to XXXX. XXXX sent the check to XXXX and it was cashed out. XXXX told me the car was paid for and they now had the loan and I began making payments. I am in the XXXX XXXX and was gone for training for a couple months afterwards. I came back home to letters in the mail from Chase bank saying I have late payments on my loan. I thought I had paid off the loan with Chase but I found out that XXXX just cashed out the check and never paid off my car with Chase. XXXX ended up sending a check back to XXXX to pay off my loan with them. I still have my loan with Chase and the late payments ended up hurting my credit. I submitted a couple complaints to XXXX and they were denied and said Chase needs to send documentation for my credit to be fixed. I contacted Chase and they have refused to fix my credit. I have attached the check that was sent to XXXX and cashed as well as the documentation showing my loan with XXXX was paid off. I can also send a copy of my orders proving I was gone for training if needed.
