Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I received a call from Chase bank customer service number and there was a gentleman on the phone claiming to be from Chase fraud. The man said that ther was some suspicious activity on my account and if I was trying to make purchases at an out of state XXXX store. I told the gentleman no and he said well it looks like your account has been compromised. Now mind you this guy was calling me from the actual chase customer service number. He also represented himself as a Chase employee. In any case the guy advised me that were going to close the so called comprimised account and open a new account a long with replaccing my debit card any other other thing that goes a long with Chase banks protocols for accounts being compromised. So the guy had my credentials and guided me through the app to supposebly open a new account. In any case the guy tricked me into wiring him {$1300.00} that I thought was a transfer of funds to my new account. When I figured this guy was scamming me I immediately called Chase fraud and asked them to recall the wire. They initiated the recall and then I get a message from Chase saying the beneficiary denied the recall. So then I contacted Chase to find out where the money went. They gave me the run around for XXXX weeks then they finally give some information on the recipient. The fraudsters name was XXXX XXXX and the the receiving account was a XXXX XXXX account they also gave me an account number that turned out to be an account that did not exist at XXXX XXXX, I cntacted XXXX XXXX XXXX to see if they had any information on this individual. They checked all their records and databases and told me that this person and account does not exist within their institution. So then I called Chase and asked them why would as wire go through if the account did not exist. They could not give me an answer and sti ; l ; refuse to tell me were my money went. All they keep telling me is that I was the one that approved the wire and that it was not fraud. The last manager I spoke with said I would have to go to court and supeana Chase bank to get them to tell me where my money went. Here are the names of the people I spoke with at Chase. XXXX XXXX Mid XXXX XXXX Claims Department XXXX XXXX Customer Service Manager- Fraud Department XXXX XXXX Customer Sevice Rep- Fraud Department . I am still working on gettting answers from their wire fraud department but am not receiving any responses from Chase.

Consumer Complaint: The branch manager XXXX XXXX NMLS ID : XXXX refused to service me, harassed and humiliated me. It supposed to be a simple transaction at a branch. I just wanted to make {$150.00} deposit to my checking account. I gave a teller my current California driver license and it was sufficient enough so she located me in Chase database. I have XXXX addresses and the address on Chase file is current XXXX but does match the address on my driver license. Every time I make a deposit at the same branch, I can hear the same question.. Can you verify your address? And I mentioned many many times to make a note on the file. This time I just refused to answer and said the address on file the address I have. Apparently, it was not enough to establish my identity. XXXX XXXX was right behind the teller and told me she won't service me until I verify the address with Chase. I explained my position several times and were told it is The branch internal policy to identify myself by the address. Not sure since then the State ID is not enough! I asked to show the policy in writing and XXXX declined my request. Instead, she called XXXX police department since I refused to leave. 5 minutes later I was interrogated by Sheriff and XXXX police. I feel like humiliated doing nothing wrong. I would like to have a full investigation of the incident and receive a report with the taken action against XXXX XXXX.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Cashing a check
Consumer Complaint: I deposited a check on XX/XX/XXXX for {$2300.00}, for which I received the notification from Chase Bank that {$100.00} has been credited to my account immediately, whereas the remaining amount i.e. {$2200.00} will be credited on XX/XX/XXXX and the amounts were credited too, which made me realized that the check has got cleared. In turn, I refunded the money back to the person who sent the check by mail ( who apparently was a fraudster ). Later, on XX/XX/XXXX surprisingly the said check got bounced and I saw a debit on my account. Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, I made lots of call to Chase Bank, and they confirmed that they credit the full amount once they get confirmation from Issuing Bank, but couldn't confirm why the check can get bounced later. Also, when I dropped an email to them on XX/XX/XXXX, they never replied back to me with the clarification. Because of this, I landed to a situation wherein I lost {$2300.00}, and Chase is not providing the amount back due to flaw in their policy/process.

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I received a call from what caller ID showed as Chase. The caller stated my card was being used fraudulently and Chase was going to send me a new card. They send me an email and ask for the code that came on that email. Unfortunately I gave them that code. They then set up XXXX XXXX on their phone with my card. They had my phone number, my email address and my credit card number. I did not give them any of that information. They then proceeded to use my card for XXXX purchased totaling over {$5900.00}. I canceled my card after I discovered these charges. I notified Chase. They informed me I was responsible for these charges. I appealed this twice and both times they rejected my claim. The last response from them was that " You received benefit from this transaction. '' This was not possible since the transactions were on a different XXXX where I was and live.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I have an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX issued by Chase. In early XXXX, I was contacted by Chase about two charges that they suspected were fraudulent. I confirmed that I had not made these purchases ( XXXX delivery orders on the other side of the continent ). Chase then canceled my credit card and mailed me a new card with a new number. So far, so good. But when I received my written monthly statement today, it included these two charges, for a total of {$53.00}. I called the number on the back of the card, explained the problem to a " customer service '' representative. She said she would have to transfer me to the fraud department ; I was left on hold, and informed that the wait would be about 20 minutes. I hung up, and called back. This time the " customer service '' representative clearly recognized the problem, said that she was powerless to help and that she would have to transfer me to the fraud department. This time, I did hold, but after about five minutes the line went dead. I am filing this complaint with the CFPB in the hope that ( 1 ) you will be more effective in getting Chase to reverse these fraudulent charges and ( 2 ) you will investigate to see if my experience is part of a regular pattern and practice by Chase - who may have consciously concluded that many or most customers will decide that it is easier simply to pay the fraudulent charges than to spend an unknown number of hours dealing with Chase 's unresponsive " customer service '' department.
