Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, I'm Chase bank business XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) account holder. I recently went to chase Located at ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, FL XXXX ) and get a cash withdraw of {$45000.00} dollars on XX/XX/2022 at XXXX. Two hours later after I left the bank, someone from that chase bank called me says they give me {$4000.00} dollar more in that transaction. I told them I didn't know if there is {$4000.00} dollars more in that bag because I didn't count those money while I was at the counter with that bank teller, I just grab the bag with money inside and left and hand it direct to my construction contractor. I then called up my Construction contractor and he say that there is not extra money, it was {$45000.00} even. I told the bank teller about it over the phone. and they say they going to call me the next day which suppose on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX but which no body does call me. After two days later on XXXX XXXX, they put a MEMO debit on my account and debit {$4100.00} dollars from my bank account without my permission. I then call the chase phone number located back of my chase debit card ( XXXX ) and spoken with one of the Rep about it. They ask me to call back the next day which is XX/XX/2022 regarding this issues, because they don't have any information about that MEMO Debit currently .After I contact with the bank they are not willing to adjust the issues. In my personal point of view this is totally not legal because they can't just take money out of my account without my permission and contact with me or doing investigation on it. What if they told me they give me {$100000.00} more and just subtract it from my account without letting me know.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: " A direct deposit, in banking, is a deposit of money by a payer directly into a payee 's bank account. '' - XXXX By refusing to accept a disbursement from my XXXX IRA as a " qualifying direct deposit '' for their promotional offer, Chase is discriminating against my source of income, acting in bad faith, and deceptively advertising their promotion. Chase bank has advertised a promotional offer, whereby they promise to pay a {$600.00} bonus to customers who open a checking and savings account, deposit and keep {$15000.00} in the savings account for 3 months, and make a direct deposit to the checking account. Chase does not specify an minimum amount or frequency for the direct deposit, but they do give some examples of what won't be accepted for the purposes of the offer, such as micro-deposits or person-to-person payments. An email I received XX/XX/22 from Chase 's customer service stated : " Please be reminded that a Direct Deposit is whether your paycheck, Social Security or another source such as a pension or retirement plan credited directly using your account and routing number. '' After completing the requirements and not receiving the bonus, I contacted Chase who connected me to a special department, a liaison office between the customer and what Chase refers to as their " E-coupon department. '' In phone conversations on XX/XX/22 and XX/XX/22, I was told repeatedly that transfers from a retirement account would qualify, but that the direct deposit from my XXXX IRA was " coded '' as coming from an investment account. The CSR suggested that if I provided a screen-shot showing the deposit was from an IRA, Chase would honor their offer. However, after providing this evidence, in a phone call on XX/XX/22, the CSR changed her story and said that IRA distributions would not be accepted for this promotion. For the record, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and Chase on previous occasions, have accepted - without issue - a distribution from my XXXX IRA as satisfying a direct-deposit requirement. Since my direct deposit met all requirements, except, according to Chase, the SOURCE of the deposit, and since all of my income is from XXXX and other bank deposits, it really does seem that Chase is discriminating against me based on my source of income. Beyond this, it really seems that Chase is going out of their way to snub customers, despite the fact they have FULFILLED ALL THE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS of the offer. If the purpose of the offer is to gain more happy customers, Chase is achieving quite the opposite. By any normal definition, an electronic payment of my IRA distribution from XXXX to Chase IS a direct deposit, and Chase stated on three occasions, that a deposit from a retirement account was acceptable, so I am asking Chase to pay the full {$600.00} bonus to my account, as per their advertised offer.

Consumer Complaint: I was sent and charged for an item of women 's clothing that I never ordered from an online company called XXXX. The weird part is, I was shipped the item, but again- I DID NOT order it! I immediately opened a dispute claim with my bank, Chase, and tried to contact the company XXXX on multiple occasions to see how to return the item so that I can get my money back. My bank initially credited me back the {$43.00} charge and cancelled that debit card, but as of yesterday, they have once again charged me. When I called Chase Bank, they stated that dispute was overturned and there is nothing more that they can do to help me and that I would have to take it up with XXXX. I tried to explain to them that I have tried on multiple occasions but have had no luck. There is only an email address, not a customer service phone number that you can talk to a live person or leave a voicemail at the company XXXX. I am a XXXX XXXX student and this money was stolen from my high school savings account. I am saving to pay for a car and college and am very frustrated and upset.

Consumer Complaint: I had a fairly new account with Chase bank - did a mobile deposit on a check for {$1000.00} that was wrinkled - they held it for 2 weeks I wasnt given info as to why though I called several times. At the end of 2 weeks it showed as available but I was unable to access it via XXXX or my debit card though the account appeared to be normal as far as I could tell on the mobile app- nor was I able to make a mobile deposit. I called and the after hours person thought it would be ok the next day. The next day my account was *gone entirely* No notifications via phone, email, or the banking app. I called again and after a lot of digging around, was told my account was closed for suspected fraud and I would be receiving a check from the bank containing my funds. When the check arrived it was for {$19.00} - the {$1000.00} was missing. The person who wrote the check to me said it showed as having cleared her account. I called the customer service Again and was told that the check writer, would have to go in person to a branch and verify she wrote the check to me. She did. Still no money. I called again and they had no record of her having gone in to a branch on my behalf. She went again and was assured that it was recorded to the check and my account ( which I no longer had since they had cancelled it without notice, but I do have a car loan with them ) I waited another 2 weeks with no check incoming. I called again and asked for a supervisor and was told it would not do any good as the check writers authorization was not recorded to my account in any way. She went in a third time and asked for the money to be refunded to her account and was denied saying I would receive the funds. I have not, and continue to be told she hasnt authorized the check as having been made out to me - while shes assured by the local ( to her ) branch that she did ( her bank is not chase ). This {$1000.00} is in chase bank possession and it seems there is no way to get it. I even requested they put the funds on my car loan rather than mail a check. My loan instead went into default. This is ridiculous- they need to release the funds to one of us the check writer or to me the check receiver! There was nothing shady about this transaction on my part in any way other than the check had been in my pocket for a day and was wrinkled.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited a check ( {$4900.00} ) from XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX from my new employer XXXX XXXXXXXX to be used to set up my home office to my checking account at Chase on Friday XX/XX/2022. Chase put a hold on the deposit until XXXX but actually released the funds to me on XXXX. With the funds available I sent out payments to 3 vendors in support of my office set up. On XXXX Chase reversed the deposit and stated the check was no good. When I contacted them to understand why the check funds were released early ( I did not ask for the funds to be expedited ) they did not give me an answer but did state that becasue the check was no good, I was responsible for the {$4900.00}. They stated I would have to contact the issuer of the check to resolve. Had they not released the funds, I would not have begun the vendor payment process. I would have also been able to stop the fraud that has occured.

Consumer Complaint: I was looking for a remote job and I got a job offer from XXXX XXXX XXXX and they set XXXX XXXX for an interview and i passed. They later told me that they are going to send me check so that I can buy computer and software. I get the check 2 days later on the XX/XX/30 and I go to the bank do deposit it but they tell me that they need to hold the check and check for authenticity and that it will be available in 2 days on XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I get the check on my account and they tell me to buy the computer at the apple store and that I need to send them {$2500.00} for software. Ive never workers remote before so I though this was ok. They tell me to send the money through XXXX and I started to become suspicious so I called the bank that day XXXX and XXXX to confirm if the check is real and they say that the check is perfectly fine and there was nothing wrong with it and that there was money on there and that I dont need to wait 7 days and that the process was already done in the 2 days. So that erased my doubt and on XXXX I sent {$1000.00} and another {$500.00} to XXXX through XXXX. On Monday XXXX the bank takes all my money and now my account has over draft. I called the bank and told them about the whole process and they said they wont refund me the money and that I sent the money willingly. I WAS SCAMMED AND I KEPT ASKING THE BANK IF THERE WAS ANY ISSUE WITH THE CHECK AND THEY SAID NO AND IT WAS FINE. This is so unfair I want my money back.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX Ive received a check for XXXX $ for work Ive conducted for a customer reforming around landscaping work. Prior to this I had already deposited a check the customer paid XXXX $ to my checking account ending in XXXX. I submitted a mobile deposit for the XXXX $ to my newly opened saving account. Uploaded the check admittedly was placed on a hold with a date given XX/XX/XXXX for the check to clear and time for chase to verify money was about to go through to my account. I called customer service regarding the issue they had informed me that XX/XX/XXXX the amount should post to my account and should have no problem accessing the funds deposited. Today XX/XX/XXXX contacted JP Morgan Chase regarding the hold placed on both my checking and savings account I wasnt able to withdraw the XXXX $ deposited into my savings account. I was told by the customer representative that both of my accounts were closed without any disclosure of information allowed or given. That within XXXX business days I could potentially receive a check in the mail for the amount balance left in the account but thats hypothetical if theirs a remaining balance of XXXX $ the account left with in and was close with unreasonable causes. Leaving a customer without money in their account without when or if I may receive anything. Should be absolutely illegal to close a customers account without a reasonable cause or explanation. After speaking with a supervisor informed me that a possible check would be sent to my mailing address that the account had been set in notation closed since XX/XX/XXXX. That a check possibly of XXXX $ could be sent within 10 business days following on date XXXX of XXXX. There was no possible way the supervisor could tell me if that was promised. End result me losing money for work Ive performed and depositing a check without even pay a return fee of check if bounced.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022. I tried to pay my Chase credit card payment using the Chase ATM outside the bank. However, When I insert the {$2200.00} cash to the ATM, it ate my money and gave me an error receipt. I called the number on the receipt immediately and the person on the phone said they will credited me the {$2200.00} balance to my credit card account while they investigate this error. XXXX months later, I noticed that they reversed the balance. I called them to ask why my payment was reversed and the person on the phone told me my claim was rejected because amount they found does not match {$2200.00} and there is nothing they can do to recover my money.
