Issue: Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: Debt collector " IC Systems '' sent a letter dated XXXX XXXX, 2017 notifying my daughter XXXX XXXX that she owes {$93.00} on a medical bill. IC Systems is collecting on behalf of XXXX XXXX. XXXX left XXXX XXXX 2017 to XXXX for 18 months and is out of state. ON XXXX XXXX, 2017 I called XXXX XXXX and confirmed that the debt had been paid. I then called IC Systems. I was very concerned that while XXXX was gone for 18 months that her credit remained in good standing. I told the representative that I was inquiring about why they sent the letter. The representative told me that if I was n't XXXX they could n't tell me anything. I told her that I was XXXX 's father and her legal representative while she was out of state on a 18 month XXXX. The representative became hostile and rude, and insisted that even though I was acting in good faith and was XXXX 's legal representative, she could not confirm the debt collection information or reassure me that the debt had indeed be paid off according to the Doctor 's office. I told her that I thought her actions were not right and that if her company sends a debt collection notice, when the legal representative calls to inquire, the debt collection agency has an obligation to confirm the debt amount, if owing. She insisted she could not, I told her I would then call the FTC and file a complaint. She said " Go ahead ''.

Consumer Complaint: I had an account with XXXX above 3 years ago that I had terminated. Upon termination I had my account sent to collections stating I owed money. I spoke with XXXX and they verified I did not owe and sent me a refund check. Since then I have had XXXX different collection agencies show up on my report showing this account. Each time I dispute the account and then months later another account from a different agency pops up. This is becoming a huge pain and I am having to regularly check my report just to make sure another collection agency has not been added. Clearly that original account was sold to multiple agencies and XXXX refused to notify them so now I am being bombarded with collection attempts for a dept that was proven not mine. Below are the XXXX collection agencies ; XXXX, XXXX, I.C XXXX Systems.

Subissue: Used obscene/profane/abusive language
Consumer Complaint: I received a missed call from IC Systems regarding a collection account. I returned the call to gather some information from the agency. Upon contact with the agencyi was treated like the scum of the Earth. I simply requested validation of the debt from the agent and was told it was previously sent out. I asked how could it have been sent if this was my first contact with the agency. The agent proceeded to inform me validation was sent on XX/XX/2017. I advise the agent I had n't received any communication from their company and again this was my first contact. I informed the agent whatever she claims was sent was the first notice NOT validation of the debt. I also informed the agent I have a right to request validation of the debt and by law the agency had to provide it. The agent became very argumentative and upset. I then requested to speak with a supervisor and the agent hung up the phone. The phone call requesting money for an unknown debt after knowingly sending out a notice that i have not received is a violation of the FDCPA ; clearly overshadowing..

Consumer Complaint: I changed XXXX in XXXX 2013 from XXXX and to do this I owed a balance of {$300.00}. This same day I went down there and paid the balance. I had been in a continued argument with the office manager XXXX. Apparently to get even she sent this bill off to collections when it was n't even past due nor late. I paid it the same day! I will include proof! I have been fighting for over 4 years to get this off my credit report that they have reported it to. Not only that the collection agency they sent it to is still reporting it as bad credit.

Consumer Complaint: I C Systems placed a {$450.00} debt that was from XXXX XX/XX/2010 - XX/XX/2010 on my credit report. I had no knowledge of this bill until I received an alert from XXXX credit monitoring service that I even owed this balance. I called I C Systems today and was then told about the debt. They claimed to have sent notice of collections to a previous post office box that I had in Arizona. However, ALL of the information on my credit report is correct. Therefore, if they wanted to contact me about this, my current address is listed on all XXXX bureaus. They could 've also called me, because my current phone number is on all three reports as well. Instead of conducting business the correct way, they went ahead and placed this on my report without properly contacting me and giving me a chance to dispute this. This is unacceptable. My score has dropped XXXX points because of this. Furthermore, the statute of limitations is up for this debt. And they are still trying to collect anyway KNOWING that the statute of limitations is 7 years for this type of debt. Just pitiful. I have sent I C Systems an email letting them know that I am reporting them to the CFPB. Had I not seen this on my credit report, it would 've SAT there. I 've worked entirely TOOOOOOO hard to restore my credit and will continue to work to keep it secure. I have a severe disgust for companies that do things like this and I would like immediate action taken to not only have this DELETED from my credit reports, but this company needs to be fined. Cause if they 're doing this to me, they 're doing it to other people.
