Consumer Complaint: I was diagnosed with XXXX during a veteran administration claim Im 100 % XXXX due to XXXX and I found for a I filed for them to just be erased. I dont honestly dont know the terminology nor do I care all I know is that that is that is something offered to somebody in my situation, and I was trying to take advantage of it. I submitted the proper paperwork during that time, not sure what they were doing and how they handle my information or anybody elses information. All I know is that during that time I submitted the information and my XXXX account came from XXXX XXXX the servicer changed, and its still the same information on my profile from the old servicer and now my account says zero but the credit bureaus all three major credit bureaus refuses to put my balance as zero they have they know that the balance is zero, but they will not put it there after investigating it talking to him and telling me yeah youre right but months later, theyre still showing as if I have {$50000.00} in student loans but when I log into my account theyre zero at one point it was an error with XXXX. It seems to be corrected now so I feel like now Im being a I dont know thats incorrect information being placed on my credit report because I dont have any student loans anymore that are government affiliated, they waived them and I do not have them anymore

The act expounds that it protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA applies to any public or private elementary, secondary, or post-secondary school. It also applies to any state or local education agency that receives funds under an applicable program of the US Department of Education. It prohibits educational institutions from disclosing personally identifiable information in education records without the written consent of an eligible student, or if the student is a minor, the students parents ( 20 U.S.C.S. 1232g ( b ) ).
