Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX stating the XXXX was trying to collect a debt of {$440.00} from me. I called Convergent within 30 days of getting the letter, they said they put in a dispute for me since I strongly believed I owed the money. I did not hear anything, nor did I receive anything in the mail. On XX/XX/XXXX I went down to the XXXX store on XXXX XXXX to see if I could get this resolved there, XXXX was helping me. He stated that he could not see anything on my account, only that I owed {$440.00} but could not see what it was for. He called XXXX XXXX and was on the phone with them for about 20-25 mins trying to help me get this resolved. XXXX stated that they could not see anything either as to what the debt was for. He gave me a phone number to call XXXX XXXX at XXXXand stated I had to deal with them. I called as soon as I left the XXXX store, the number he gave me is for Convergent. So I was confused as to why I got their number, but anyways, I was talking with XXXX XXXX on that same day, XX/XX/XXXX, he can not see what the debt is for, just the amount. He put a dispute in for me again. I asked if I needed to submit something in writing to them, he stated no. He told me to call back and 30 days to see what the status is and to check the account. It has not been 30 days but I feel this has been too long already. I would like this resolved.

I disputed this account with them directly and I did not receive any proof that the item belong too me. I want this item removed immediately because its damaging my credit and my credit score. I am stressed from this situation. This company is violating my rights under the FDCPA section 809 ( b ).

Consumer Complaint: OnXX/XX/XXXX and on XX/XX/XXXX I have personally mailed in 2 certified letter to XXXXXXXX XXXX.original creditor XXXX. The debt they have claimed I owe is $ XXXX.I have never signed any contract with XXXX. In my two letters to XXXX XXXX, I have requested that they validate the information and provide me with copies of any documentation associated with this account bearing my SIGNATURE! Which XXXX XXXX have not provided. I have requested that they remove the negative information off my account, which they have not done. Consumer Complaint: Around XX/XX/2016 I was moving to another address. I went from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was contacting all of my service providers to transfer to my new address. A XXXX XXXX representative stated my bill must be paid regardless of due date before a new account can be opened on a new address so I paid it off. With no written communication over the next two years of the debt owed, I received a notification from XXXX XXXX that XXXX sent it over to a debt collection agency called Convergence for {$55.00}. If you think I owed this debt, wouldn't someone attempt to contact me with a written notice to let me know I owed this money? I was still a customer so they had my new address. They claimed they called me 3 times but I have no call records. Within that 2 year time span, I've called XXXX numerous times for inquiries, technical support, etc and nobody brought a collection up. The collections agent claimed it slipped through the cracks. Is that my issue? XXXX XXXX needs to get it together. I heard complaints from friends and family that they were over billed for something and when XXXX looked over it, they corrected it. I believe that's the issue here. They are unorganized, and lack communication. They lowered my credit down a few points and I'm upset they couldn't notify me before placing it on my credit so I can confirm its accuracy. They stated they will not remove it and I owe it, but I know I do not based on the information above. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/2018 i received notification from XXXX and XXXX that there is a collection on my credit, when i checked i noticed a collection charge from XXXX XXXX. This company has placed a charge of {$60.00} that XXXX XXXX has purchased looks like from XXXX XXXX.And has caused my score to dip due to this false statement by XXXX XXXX, i have no contracts what so ever with XXXX XXXX i called XXXX and they can't even see that i am a customer because i have no accounts with XXXX. This is fraud by XXXX XXXXg as i checked the internet many have reported scams originating in this manner from XXXX XXXX. They conveniently have placed a fraudulent charge and refuse to validate the debt because i don't have any contracts with XXXX. I expect XXXX to have XXXX XXXX remove this fraudulent charge ASAP wihtout delay i am hereby giving them 30 days if not removed law suit against XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX will be initiated.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB Staff : I would like to remind you of a fact you are already well aware of : the collection agencies are arrogant, refuse to follow the law and they respect no authority. They feel they are above the law despite paying out millions in fines and court-costs. This is my story about how dirty the collection agencies are. On XX/XX/XXXX, I disputed, via Certified-Mail with Return Receipt, a XXXX account in the amount of {$180.00} with XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, of XXXX, XXXX. I have proof, via the tracking number and the signed returned receipt, that XXXX XXXX received my communication on XX/XX/XXXX. I did not receive any response from them, and in about 3 weeks or so the derogatory was gone from my credit report. I was, of course, very elated. Here comes the bad part, at least to me. About a week ago I saw, with great shock, the same XXXX collection account appear on my XXXX credit report under a different collection agency name. Then about 2 days ago it appeared on my XXXX credit report too. The new collection agency is : XXXX XXXX : XXXX, based in XXXX, XXXX. Can you believe that? How dare they do this? This is a blatant and flagrant violation of the FCRA and FDCPA. Since the original collection agency could not collect on the 'fake ' debt they sold it to another collection agency. This new collection agency, XXXX XXXX, lied by stating that the last activity was XX/XX/XXXX. This is a blatant lie. I am kindly requesting you, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to help me in this matter. Tell them sternly that both the above collection agencies broke the law by their actions. Please order XXXX XXXX to delete the derogatory account from my XXXX and XXXX credit reports immediately. Show them some teeth and some authority. Let them know who is charge here. You are the federal agency ; you wield plenty of power. You know how dirty and unethical these collection agencies are. The people running collection agencies have no heart or compassion. They are quite XXXX people you know. I thank you, CFPB, in advance your time and effort in this matter. I remain.

IT HAS NOW BEEN ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND INSTEAD THEY JUST UPDATED MY REPORT SHOWING THAT THE ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED. I HAVE TRIED TWICE DISPUTING IT WITH THE CREDIT BUREAUS BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED. THE ACCOUNT IS STILL ON MY CREDIT REPORT SHOWING CLOSED. I TRIED CONTACTING THE COMPANY AND BEEN GETTING NOTHING BUT LIES. THEY TOOK MY PAYMENT KNOWING THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REMOVE THE ACCOUNT OFF MY CREDIT REPORT. THIS HAS NOW BECOME OVERLY FRUSTRATING, WHICH I AM TRYING TO REBUILD MY CREDIT TO PURCHASE A HOME.

It was investigated by y'all, XXXX , and XXXX , and found that it was NOT my account and it was removed! Now it is back on there under XXXX. This is the SAME account that was listed under my credit report for the last 4 years under XXXX and three other collection agencies because it is not now nor has it EVER been my account. They even sent me an email and called and said that it was not my account. I want this taken off of my credit report. NOW!!!!!!!
