Consumer Complaint: There is an collection agency call convergent outsourcing that has placed a debt in the amount of {$210.00} on my credit report for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. It was placed on my credit report in 2019. I have reached out one time to inform them that they should not be on my credit report that bill that they placed on my account is from XXXX. That bill had been taken care of already I have the confirmation number. also, the amount that the bill worth was {$110.00} so Im really unsure as to why they were trying to get {$210.00}? Just that alone shouldve been removed from my credit report because they were reporting an illegal amount.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I had a collection account with Convergent regarding a XXXX phone bill. They made an offer on the online account they had for me, and I paid the amount that was due. The debt that was owed is still showing on my credit, and the company is still asking me to pay for more money on their online account. I am asking Convergent to update that I no longer have a balance as it is illegal to not update that I have paid my balance ; therefore, showing inaccurate information to the credit bureau. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: I have repeatedly disputed the CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING attempted debt collection of {$310.00} on a XXXX XXXX account. This collection is from a XXXX XXXX account that was paid in full upon termination of service. The final bill in the amount of {$160.00} was paid through XXXX XXXX online bill payment via EFT on XX/XX/2018, which was received by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018. This debt is due to a clerical error by XXXX XXXX failing to apply the final payment to the account. The account was then sent to collections with heavily inflated fees which brought the amount to {$310.00}.

Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, I purchased an XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX store # XXXX, as part of new phone services. Upon return to my home in XXXX, I realize that there is almost no reception, so unable to make phone calls or use the data service. The next day XXXX, I returned the said phone back to the store and terminated the phone service. A return receipt was issued by the store. By XX/XX/XXXX, I began receiving bills from XXXX claiming that I owed {$870.00}, which was exactly the cost of the returned XXXX XXXX XXXX. I made numerous calls to XXXX sales and customer service to resolve the dispute. Customer service concurred that no payment was owed. Sales claimed the bill was valid. XXXX bill is sent to a collections agency called XXXX XXXX XXXX, who sent me a settlement offer of {$520.00}. I wrote back to XXXX, rejecting their offer, with evidence of the phone receipt. They closed the file. On XXXX, I received notice from a second collections agency called Convergent Outsourcing asking me to settle for {$430.00}. Convergent also registered this debt in my credit report as collection delinquency. I wrote to Convergent with evidence of the receipt and received no response from them. I filled a dispute with XXXX to address the matter. XXXX completed the dispute by backdating the delinquency back to XX/XX/XXXX, even though they noted that the dispute qualifies for an FCRA. XXXX and Convergent Outsourcing have no factual basis to establish existence of this debt. All attempts to resolve this matter has been unsuccessful. The return receipt is attached with this dispute to show clearly that the store from which the transaction occurred received the phone and issued a return receipt.

However, they falsely back-dated their letter inside that envelope as if that letter was written/mailed on XX/XX/XXXX ( before they " verified '' the account to the credit bureaus ). I have attached a copy of the envelope which was stamped by the US Postal Service proving this was mailed XX/XX/XXXX, no where near the date of XX/XX/XXXX. I have also attached their falsely back-dated cover letter. ___ This debt collector falsely back-dated their letter to conceal their illegal behavior of verifying the account to the credit bureaus before they validated the debt. ___Based on the aforementioned facts ( and supported by the attached proof ), Convergent engaged in following violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act : ___ ( a ) Violation of the FDCPA 15 USC 1692g ( b ) in that they failed to cease collection of the debt by verifying/updating the account to the credit bureaus before it was validated.
