Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX 2023, I called Capital One at the phone number on my billing statement to make an offer to settle up my total dept. and pay it off. The person I spoke to at or about XXXX XXXX XXXX was XXXX XXXX. He got permission from his supervisor to except my offer to settle the account for a total of {$4000.00}. He mentioned I need to get them the payment within 30 days and close the account. They explained to me the methods I could use to pay this amount to them and I agreed to the terms. Then days later I get a Collections letter with Capital One logo that is dated the day after I made the call and both parties greed on a settlement. The letter stated that they have sold my account to a company and transferred my account info to them. Yet the letter states that they are pursuing for a balance over nine thousand dollars. Which is more then even the stated amount that I was told I owed while on the phone with Capital One. Clearly Capital One is in default of our phone agreement binding to settle and is playing an illegal game. The letter says NOT to send Capital One future payments.

Consumer Complaint: I have been making regular payments usually way more than the minimum amount due every month and sometimes I make payments two times within a billing cycle on my CAPITALONE credit card. I made payment for last month but I was still charged a late fee. When I called to complain, they said I made the payment a bit too early within the current billing cycle. I was really surprised and never heard that before. Nobody could offer any satisfactory explanation why I was charged a late fee.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX an unauthorized transaction was made on my Capital One Quicksilver Credit Card for {$340.00}. The bank did not process the payment since the funds were not available. My credit card showed it as a returned payment and was closed for violating the cards policy. I did not authorize these charges to go through. I pleaded with Capital One that it was an unauthorized charge on my account, but was told it has to remain closed. The same thing was said for my second credit card account with Capital one. 3 returned unauthorized payments on XX/XX/XXXX for {$640.00} and also XX/XX/XXXX for {$340.00}. I am please asking to have these accounts open again. I have been a loyal customer of theirs since 2018. Never missed a payment. Please help.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One Checking : On XX/XX/XXXX, I had a balance in my Capital One Checking account of {$2.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a wire in the amount of {$39000.00} thus making my balance {$39000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, my account was frozen leaving a balance of {$7000.00} As of XX/XX/XXXX my current balance is {$7000.00}. Ive called at least 20 times and each time was the same- under investigation. Capital One is claiming that a previous wire I received for {$22000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX was being recalled from a third party, ( not the party who sent it to me ) claiming fraud. On XX/XX/XXXX, my balance was {$.00}. Since XX/XX/XXXX, there were other smaller deposits. Since, the {$22000.00} was 100 % spent and since I have no way of knowing the senders source of funds and since it was a month previous, Capital One is essentially taking funds from my real estate closing from my XX/XX/XXXX deposit. They have no right to take my money from subsequent deposits. Where does it end? How far back are they allowed to go back? 1 year? 5 years? 10 years? How can it possibly be my responsibility to obtain the source or nature of others funds? This is ridiculous. Capital One is refusing to release my {$7000.00} from my recent real estate transaction. This is theft!
