Consumer Complaint: The company has locked my account and refuses to unlock it. It has been about three days They are so understaffed that they are not answering the phone for the loss prevention department. I have been on the phone for over an hour. No one else can help me at the other phone lines. The bank is virtual so the only option is over the phone. I have no access to my money and my homelessness situation has become even worse because of this delay. I could die because of the delay.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, As of XXXX. XXXX, XXXX, my auto loan with Ally Auto Finance was paid off. I refinanced the loan with XXXX XXXX and they paid them. It has now been a month and a half, and the loan is still being shown as open on my credit report. Essentially, my report shows that I have 2 loans. I emailed Ally auto last week requesting that they close the loan with the credit bureaus and I received no response and no change in my report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my XXXX XXXX XXXX was totaled. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX provided a payoff amount of {$33000.00}. Ally Financial accepted the amount and told XXXX XXXX to send me a check for a portion of the proceeds totaling {$1900.00} for sales tax and license / transfer fees. I received this amount via ACH in early XXXX. Farmers confirmed with me that Ally had also received their payment. I made a car payment on XX/XX/XXXX. I followed up with Ally and they told me the account was going through accounting and not worry about the account any further. I followed up on the account every few weeks until XX/XX/XXXX when they finally closed the account. They also reported two missed payments on my Credit Bureau Report with all 3 reporting agencies which isn't accurate. There are no statements from Ally stating that my account is or was past due as the account was suppose to be closed. I've reported the inaccurate information to all reporting agencies and Ally. I don't trust that they will handle this properly after the experience I've had with them. They're impacting my credit when I truly need it most.

Consumer Complaint: Re : Complaint of Breach of Contract XXXX XXXX v. Ally Auto Dear CFPB Please allow this letter to serve as complaint of breach of contract and continued discrimination by Ally Auto. In XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX and Ally Auto entered into a contract for payment. The contract is the result of a conflict that emerged in XX/XX/XXXX where Ally Auto admits they misspoke concerning an alleged amount owed by XXXX XXXX on a XXXX XXXX XXXX automobile. Ally Auto partially corrected the billing history problem but failed to fully correct the issue and take responsibility for the financial damages it caused during months of disputes, confusion and the early reporting of negative information to XXXX XXXX credit file which they eventually removed. In attempts to avoid litigation in XX/XX/XXXX Mr. XXXX and Ally Auto Senior Manager XXXX agreed to a financial contract. The contract stipulates Mr. XXXX 's Ally Auto account will be brought current provided a payment was made at the time of agreement. The initial requested payment was made as agreed. The contract agreement also stipulates delinquent payment history for the month of XXXX and XXXX will be removed as owed amounts would be placed on the back end of the loan provided Mr. XXXX is not delinquent going forward. Phone transcripts records will reflect Ally Auto representative XXXX repeatedly confirmed the derogatory payment information would be removed from credit bureaus as part of the agreement. Ally Auto removed the derogatory payment history from Mr. XXXX 's credit files. Ally Auto without explanation replaced the derogatory information causing damages again to Mr. XXXX 's credit rating. Please note Mr. XXXX is current with no late payment since the execution of the contract with Ally Auto in XX/XX/XXXX. In an attempt to resolve this matter Mr. XXXX disputed the information with the credit bureaus and Ally Auto did not agree to remove it. This is a discriminatory breach of contract and predatory as Ally Auto purposely is damaging Mr. XXXX 's credit in hopes of preventing refinance options elsewhere. On XX/XX/XXXX Mr. XXXX spoke with an Ally Auto representative going by the name XXXX who stated Mr. XXXX was not eligible for a copy of the contract although the Sen. Manager XXXX never mailed Mr. XXXX a copy of the original contract as agreed. Mr. XXXX has kept accurate well documented transcripts of all calls and conversations for transparency and integrity. The Confirmation number of the contract in question is XXXX.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I had run my credit report and I found out that I had a debt collection reported on my credit by seeing this I had send them letters explaining this debts is not correct that this debt was taken care when I had purchase another car and the lender had taken care of the debt prior to purchase a new car after which is already more that 6 years never had any information on this matter. So when I saw this I deiced to write a letter to them and to the bureaus which I also send a copy of the letters of respond by Ally on XX/XX/2020 I had send a registered certified mail to let them know what is this ( see attached document ) On XXXX XXXX Ally had respond me stating that they could not find any information regarding this account and they need more information from me which some of it I do not have since I do not have the car and the other information they have it on records since i am receiving respond from them and if I am in collection they should have all this information on file ( see attached respond ) On XXXX XXXX I send them a respond to there letter and I have not heard anything else. On the same dates as I send the above letter I also send the same documentation to XXXX to see if any of them can correct this mistake

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem accessing account
Consumer Complaint: On Thursday XX/XX/2020, I deposit a check for {$34000.00} into ALLY Bank. I checked my account about 5 hours later making it around XXXX and my account was locked, I can not login, can not see banking information. I called the Ally 24 hour customers support at that point. The man who answered told me he could not tell me why my account was locked, problems usually get resolved in 1-2 business days and I would have to talk to Allys fraud department. I called back on XX/XX/2020 to the number I was given, I was asked the information of the person who wrote the check, not the bank, but the individual who wrote and their number. I complied and she said check should be verified in a few days. I called back the past two days XX/XX/2020 and XX/XX/2020 and both times the Ally representatives have been unhelpful, can not even tell me when my check will be reviewed or why it hasnt yet when its been 3 business. Today they woman told me she has no record of me calling prior to XX/XX/2020 and that I should wait till tomorrow when it has been 3 business days. They will not release my check either so I could go to a local credit union.
