Consumer Complaint: I was having some financial difficulty in the summer and fall of 2019 due to some natural disaster issues with my crop and property, tariff wars, etc ... Insurance covered the losses, but it was taking time. When I spoke to my student loan servicer about late payment they explained that late payment was not going affect my score. When I checked my credit report, two late payments are showing. i called the company to explain the urgency of a refinance and they said there was nothing they could do. I tried to talk to their credit department, but was told they don't accept calls. I asked to speak to management, waited on hold for quite some time, until I was told a manager would return my call, but I never received a return call.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX offers income-driven repayment ( IDR ) plans that offer loan forgiveness after either 240 or 300 qualifying payments have been made. My federal loan servicer is FedLoan Servicing. When you go on their website, they only offer information and loan tracking for 'Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) ' which is completely different from the loan forgiveness offered to individuals that have made 240-300 qualifying payments under IDR plans. Their website only provides the option to track and apply for PSLF loan forgiveness. I have contacted FedLoan Servicing on several occasions to determine how many qualifying payments I have made under the IDR plan and it does not appear that this is tracked in their system. FedLoan Servicing acquired my account in 2014 and based on the response I was given by a customer service agent, it does not appear that payments made with the previous servicer was carried over and tracked in their system. Each time I inquire about my qualifying payments, I'm met with confusion by the customer service agents who eventually wind up manually calculating only the qualifying payments I've made with them.

Consumer Complaint: Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency / AES I have contacted them several times about both covid and issue with my loan being marked as " disqualified ''. This company is one of the worst customer services, they care nothing about the person and only the bottom line. When I made a inquiry about my loans not being charged interest or payment during the INITIAL covid relief act they essentially said " we mange your loan NOT US Govt so we will continue to charge interest COVID or not ''. No " I'm sorry, lets try to work this '' or " it unprecedented times we understand '' ... nope just a straight " NO '' and then went to charge me interest. They are really shady and pretty much the bottom of the barrel. I will NEVER recommend them or use them for any of my kids. By the way the I have other leanders ( thank god ) for some of my student loans ( XXXX is one ) and EVERY OTHER one suspended payments and interest ... except these scumbags.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have checked the closest options but I will tell you my real issue. I applied for the Federal Public Service forgiveness plan. I am a XXXX in a XXXX XXXX XXXX and have fulfilled the requirements to receive this forgiveness towards my student loans. I believe that I am eligible to have {$17000.00} deducted from my student loans. I am an XXXX as a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was denied because of past outstanding payments to my student loans. I will say that I have worked very hard as a XXXX and was put into an unfortunate situation where payment of my loans was difficult. I have utilized forbearance and deferral to get past this issue. I have since paid off my student loans that I incurred when I initially attended school beginning in the early XXXX XXXX. The student loan debt that I now have was incurred as I obtained new licensure as a XXXX XXXX and then as an XXXX XXXX. I have been unable to completely pay off this debt and part of the reason I did incur this debt is because my husband lost his job in XXXX due to the economic upheaval that was happening at the time. He had a very good job that paid a very good wage. The company he worked for closed its doors. I would have never obtained student loans if my husband had not lost his job. I would have had the financial means with which to pay for my continuing education. I think that this system should be reevaluated and that each person 's situations should be accounted for. I have fulfilled the obligation of XXXX in a XXXX XXXX XXXX, that is where all my XXXX has occurred, and I am a highly qualified XXXX of XXXX. I would love for my entire student loan debt to be forgiven but will be more than happy to accept the minimal forgiveness of {$17000.00}.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, my husband and I took out loans for school in Pennsylvania. After many deferments and transfers from one service provider to another we ended up with PHEAA/AES as our service provider. Since then, we have filed bankruptcy two times and the student loans are still owed. However there are many problems with this. They show the disbursement date is XXXX. That is a mistake. We relocated to Virginia in XXXX. The disbursement date wouldve been XXXX or XXXX. Since the government has placed into law that student loan payments and interest would be on hold until the end of XXXX, AES started sending letters that we were past due in XXXX. I dont understand how this is possible if this is a federal student loan. Now the government states we dont have to pay loans until XXXX XXXX AES is still attempting to collect.

Consumer Complaint: Second attempt. Last month I wrote Fedloan to request that remove late payment from my credit report on XX/XX/XXXX that was reported inaccurate. The company stated it was correct, which it wasnt. They lied and said they tried contacting and mailing documents stating that my account was in collection in XXXX, which is another lie. I never received a call from XXXX, and I contact XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX requesting forebearance and deferment, the rep that I spoke with told me it was granted. So the fact that you have customer service rep lying about putting people on deferment is sickening. I also sent a goodwill to this company, but they dont seem to care about their customer report, or try to work their customer service, nor do they want to fix their error. Again we are only talking about XX/XX/XXXX. You dont need to go into XXXX or the past

Consumer Complaint: I have an account with FedLoans. I went into repayment of my loans in XXXX. I am in the PSLF ( public service loan forgiveness ) program. I need to make 120 payments while working for a non-for profit organization full time. I have worked for a non-for profit continuously since XXXX. There was a forbearance placed on my account accidentally roughly around XXXX. For approximately 13 months, I was making payments, under an income based repayment plan, on time, while working full time, that were never counted because of this 'inappropriate ' forbearance. I realized there was an issue when my total counted payments were not consistent with how long ive been making payments. An inquiry was opened on my account in XXXX of XXXX per my request. The forebearance was removed from my account but the qualifying payments were never recalculated. This case number has been open for over 17 months. They are also supposedly trying to see if my payments with previous government based loan servicers also count. I would like my recalculation to be performed as soon as possible, so my family and I can anticipate when I will have loan forgiveness after entering this program. I have chosen my profession, my place of work, and many other decisions have been made based on an anticipated loan forgiveness date. Thank you for your time and consideration.
