Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2019, I was performing my annual credit check. On my report, I found several errors, with a majority of them coming from a student loan servicer AES. AES apparently at some point, awarded the debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX, while never including me as part of the transition. In XXXX of 2019, I requested that XXXX XXXX XXXX forward me any documentation or contract with my signature on it, affirming my relationship with that bank. I received a letter back from XXXX XXXX, informing me that they had no record of the account numbers that were associated with their name on my credit report. Without documentation by XXXX XXXX that I had a relationship with them, it is the opinion of not only myself, but of my legal team that any negative tradeline involving XXXX should be PERMANENTLY deleted from my credit report. Again, I am simply asking that AES or XXXX XXXX provide any proof that I had a relationship with XXXX XXXX. Without proof of this, XXXX XXXX XXXX continued presence on my credit report is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Without prompt action, I will be seeking legal remedy by the courts in the coming months. P.S. I have linked both the dispute letter, and the letter from XXXX XXXX below.

Consumer Complaint: I had a student loan with XXXX for 10 years, on a standard repayment plan, and according to XXXX, I was eligible for the loan forgiveness program. I applied, submitted the application and the employer certification ( I am a caseworker/social worker for the county 's child welfare services ). XXXX accepted the application and then turned it over to FedLoans for further processing. However, FedLoan denied the request because I did not have enough qualifying payments with FedLoan ( although I did with XXXX ). Also, I was told because I had a " standard '' repayment program, I did not qualify anyway, as I needed to have a different plan, such as income-based. I don't think it is fair that I am being penalized for submitting an application with XXXX ( and having the 120 eligible on time payments ), and being transferred to FedLoan AND for paying back my loan, on time every month, including through COVID and not having a " income based '' loan. I am a person who has diligently paid back my loan since XX/XX/2009, have worked for social services/public service in county government, and should be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, no matter what payment plan I chose back in XX/XX/2009!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I took out a private loan for {$24000.00}. While I attended school the loan ballooned to {$30000.00} by XX/XX/XXXX. As of today, I've paid back {$37000.00} and as of XX/XX/XXXX, my total balance is {$20000.00}. My expected payoff date is XX/XX/XXXX and I was told if XXXX continue to pay my loan payments every month until the loan is paid off I would end up paying back anywhere from $ XXXX $ XXXX. National Collegiate Trust owns my loan and the loan is being serviced by American Education Services. I've written to AES and NCT regarding my loans and any kind of relief and have not received a response. When I call AES regarding my loan they refer me to NCT which says they have no record of my account. I am not sure what else to do.

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, Im writing to you because I noticed that my most recent credit report contains a late payment reported on 2019 XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX for my Fedloan account. I want you to know that I understand, and have great respect for my financial obligations. Unfortunately, at the time of the incident mentioned above, I had lost my job and moved to XXXX NC. Aside from this unforeseen and unavoidable circumstance, you will see that I have an excellent payment record. In the near future, I am planning on applying for, and it has come to my attention that the missed payment on my credit reports could hurt my ability to qualify. In my heart, I know that the missed payment doesnt reflect my creditworthiness and commitment to repaying my debts. I am humbly asking for you to give me a second chance by making a goodwill adjustment to remove the late payment on 2019 XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX from my credit reports. As I understand it, you can do so in just a few minutes of your time. I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your consideration. Have a blessed day!

Consumer Complaint: How are you doing? I was shocked today when I reviewed my credit report again and found late payments for my student loan accounts. I disputed this account and nothing was sent to me to legally verify the accuracy and legitimacy of this reporting. It continues to report incomplete, inaccurate, and unverifiable information, and therefore, it's impossible that it was investigated and verified as being accurate Hows it possible that youve reported me 90 days late with no late payments prior to that like the 30 and 60 days, and questionable balance still reporting? Also, wasn't XXXX student loan servicer sued for not applying payments to consumers accounts correctly. This is reporting in violation of my rights and honestly, i don't want to waste your time nor mine going back and forth, and I would like this removed from my credit as I was never late the way you're reporting it.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2019, I applied to consolidate my six loans through the federal government in order to secure a fixed interest rate on a single loan. After submitting my application, I received a notification that FedLoan Servicing would be sending me new loan information and payment details once they processed my application ; however, this information never came. As the months went by, I would receive billing email notifications from FedLoan Servicing detailing that my payment for the month was " {$0.00}. '' I also received an electronic letter from FedLoan servicing that my loans had been paid in full, which was misleading. During this waiting period, I had called FedLoan Servicing on numerous occasions to inquire about my loan consolidation application status and loan/payment details, to which I received the excuse that my new loan information must have gotten lost in the mail and I was assured that they would resend it. Prior to applying to consolidate my loans, I had been paying {$380.00} a month for six months and had managed to pay off all of my interest on my student loans. While waiting for FedLoan Servicing to provide me with my updated loan information, which ended up being six months, I accrued {$810.00} in interest, which I do not feel I should be responsible for.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX received an email from my 3rd party credit monitoring service ( XXXX XXXX ). They informed me that my score had changed. I logged in and was shocked to discover that my credit score had dropped 37 points overnight. I was devastated. The previous night I had a Credit score of XXXX, the next morning XXXX. I had no credit related changes occur, and the only clue in the event was : FEDLOAN SERVICING Remark Removed From Account. I called the major credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX ) and corroborated this information. Was there was anything on their end that was the apparent cause? Everything looked good and there were no negative remarks, from each of the reps vantage point, they could see no cause which would justify the sudden drop. I initiated a dispute with XXXX to further investigate a possible cause, which was fruitless. ( Please see attached Credit Reports ) I called FEDLOAN Servicing and it took me a few tries to reach someone who was aware of the issue, and wasnt willing to hang up on me. Alas! We discovered that around the XXXX of XXXX is when my account underwent some kind of change ( I was in general forbearance prior to change with good account standing ) I believe the change might have been relate to the student loan pandemic assistance special forbearance. I was reassured that they were aware of my type of case and that It should resolve itself For others, it has! I see similar cases on XXXX for example which sound really close to mine : https : XXXX Their issue did resolve on its own, and Im really happy for them. Im hoping I can be one of those people some day! I still dont really know what the true reason in my special case. Though, I do have a theory on why it may have not automatically resolved ( algorithmically ). Could it be that the proximity of my dispute with XXXX might have put my account in a separate bin, and when the function ran, perhaps my account was passed over and the fix not applied? I am hoping this dispute adds some formality my struggle with this, and shines a light for others who may be experiencing this! I write this now on this XXXX day of XX/XX/2020. Thank You for Your Time!
