Consumer Complaint: In 2017, I realized I was in the wrong repayment plan, I had spoke with Fed loan to get on the right repayment plan and they told me I needed to consolidate my loans in order to get in the program. I just found out that my prior eligible employment won't count because this was prior to consolidation. All of my loans were direct subsidized and unsubsidized and did not need to be consolidated. I lost six years of eligible work and payments.

Consumer Complaint: My federal loan is serviced by the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX through a website they run called myfedloan.org. In the past I've often used the Payment History feature to track how much of my payment was going to the principle on my loan versus interest. Recently I noticed that the Payment History feature has been removed from the website and there is no way to view the payments I've made. When I called customer service to ask about this, the representative informed me that the feature has been removed from the site and that he didn't know why. He told me all payment history requests have to be done manually now, by sending me a statement in the mail in 7-10 business days. This is highly opaque and predatory behavior on behalf of a state agency tasked to not only collect payments but also to support student loan holders with resources and information in their odyssey to be debt-free. This policy makes it onerous to view payment details and I can not believe it's legal for any financial institution to do this. As it is now, I will continue to call in and request a mailed payment history every time I make a payment, which is a complete waste of the government dollars used to fund this agency.

Consumer Complaint: I have been working to re-instate my student loan payments since XX/XX/XXXX because in order to qualify for a mortgage loan, my credit report needs to show my actual payments under the income-based repayment plan versus a XXXX balance that was implemented with the COVID forbearance. I did get my payment plan re-instated in XX/XX/XXXX and made both XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX payments on-time and in full on the designated due date. My credit report has not been updated since XXXX and does not reflect my actual payment amount or the XXXX payment which should have been updated by now.

Consumer Complaint: There is a loan that was disbursed XXXX in the amount of XXXX with the U.S Department of Education. Inaccurate information is reported on my credit report with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX that I had late payments on this account. It is reporting thatIt was delinquent XX/XX/2015, XX/XX/2015, XX/XX/2015 This is incorrect information I have never been late or had negative history on any account. This account was in forbearance during this time, all paper work was submitted and was on forbearance meaning no payments for due. I have already reached out to both the credit Fed loan they denied the corrections to my credit report and the credit bureaus. This negative history on my credit report is affecting my credit score and my ability to obtain a mortgage. I want this inadequate information to be removed from my credit file.

Consumer Complaint: I uploaded, through my account on the XXXX website, an application for Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) & Temporary Expanded PSLF, on XX/XX/XXXX. Knowing Fedloan would deny my application for PSLF, I sent an email, on XX/XX/XXXX, to XXXX and requested to be reconsidered for loan forgiveness using the TEPSLF criteria. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a PSLF denial letter through my inbox on the XXXX website. And on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a PSLF Qualifying Payment Update letter summarizing my qualifying payments towards PSLF. On XX/XX/XXXX, I emailed XXXX and asked for a status update on my TEPSLF application. I received a generic email response from Fedloan, on XX/XX/XXXX, stating, " Once you have submitted your request for consideration for the TEPSLF opportunity, please allow 60120 days to receive a response regarding your eligibility ''. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent an email response informing Fedloan it has been 154 days since I submitted my TEPSLF application. And asked if there is any additional information they could provide- if someone was currently reviewing my application and if they are waiting on additional information. On XX/XX/XXXX, Fedloan responded my account is currently under review with the Department of Education and may take up to 120 days to receive a response. It has now been over 200 days, as of XX/XX/XXXX, since I submitted my application and I have not received any information from Fedloan regarding my TEPSLF application. Because of the many customer service troubles I have encountered throughout my history with Fedloan, I am concerned my TEPSLF application is in a perpetual status of " currently under review ''. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide to me regarding my TEPSLF application. Thank you!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I submitted an Employment Certification Form ( " ECF '' ) for Public Service Law Forgiveness. This form was auto generated through StudentAid.gov, and had a number of errors such as stating my EIN was not a government agencyXXXX when it in fact is. This error ultimately was on my part for failing to adequately review the form. I resubmitted the ECF on XX/XX/XXXX and it was rejected due to a failure of me to date the form. This error was on my part. I resubmitted the ECF on XX/XX/XXXX. The ECF covered approximately 21 payments. I received a response on XX/XX/XXXX. Despite having submitted an ECF beginning XX/XX/XXXX, FedLoan ignored the time period between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and only certified one payment. The other 20 payments remained eligible, but not certified. The explanation that I was provided was that on my XX/XX/XXXX ECF form I used the start date of XX/XX/XXXX rather XX/XX/XXXX, which I put in based on the following instruction from StudentAid.gov PSLF Help Tool : " Note : Only add your employment history since your last approved employment certification '' No explanation was provided for why the period of XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX was ignored On XX/XX/XXXX I submitted another ECF. To date, I have not received any update on that form and have an e-mail chain consisting of numerous FedLoan representatives providing conflicting information, stock responses, and a general lack of clarity. In one instance, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX informed me that the reason for the delay was because I did not use the form on StudentAid.gov. I did. No explanation has been provided for why this was informed to me. In another e-mail, I was told it was a general review of all employers ; however, my employer remains on StudentAid.Gov as verified. It appears evident that if a customer service representative does not know the answer to a particular problem, they answer with either a guess or a stock response rather than escalating it to someone who can provide an honest, direct answer. I have worked for the city of XXXX XXXX without interruption since XXXX of XXXX. It is a government agency. Further, I am an XXXX engaged in XXXX XXXX XXXX, which is a secondary basis for eligibility. My employer is unquestionably verified, and the EIN continues to appear as Eligible in the PSLF help tool

Consumer Complaint: Recently you assisted getting FEDLOAN Servicing, who manage all my student loans, to finalize certifying my employer the VA as a 'public service ' agency that makes me eligible to remain in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. After i received a letter in XXXX, it stated that my employer is a qualified employer, however, FEDLOAN did not state the name of the employer. Either way, I notified you then that case was resolved. Now 1 month later, I asked that my payments from XXXX XXXXXXXX-current are converted to qualifying/eligibe payments that count toward my 10 years of Public Service. The response i got from FEDLOAN is, that my employer is yet again ' under review ' and that the payments can not be changed as of yet. Injury to insult. Will you kindly assist, on my side.
