Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I applied for incarceration deferments for both my Fedloan Servicing and XXXX student loans. I sent the documents out along with a prison caseworker on the same day. A few weeks later I received confirmation for deferments on both accounts. The next year I was released in XXXX. I was sent to a halfway-house 5 hours away from home. I was only allowed to use the internet once a week at the start of my stay. My first time checking my personal email showed an email from Fedloan saying I was in danger of default. I called the following Monday after seeing this email ( around XX/XX/XXXX ) give or take a week. I spoke to an account rep who told me I would be defaulting that Friday if I did not take care of my late payments. I asked why the account was not in deferment and he told me there was no record of applying for a deferment, but he did say there was a record of my Mother calling to request the paperwork be sent to me in the prison. Which did happen, but I also filled it out, sent it in ( in the presence of a federal employee ), and got a return letter of confirmation. My XXXX loan had no problem with the deferment paperwork through my local college. I said fine, I will call back Wednesday when I could go get a bank card from the halfway house and pay what I need. I got the debit card from a bank just down the street and called Fedloan back. When I spoke to the next rep they told me that the loan had defaulted the day after I called, Tuesday. I told the rep that the previous one had told me I had until Friday and his response was, '' well I dont know why he would lie to you. '' And they defaulted my loan and went about their day. I have tried contacting my State DA 's office, the CFPB, countless lawyers, anything resource I can find, The fees keep racking up and I get no answers and no help for going on 4 years now ... They take my taxes and rack up the fees. Fedloan employees committed fraud and no one will listen. I told myself I am going to give this one last shot and found this site. Please help.

Consumer Complaint: My two student loans with AES are reporting late in XXXX of 2020 on my credit report. I pulled my payment history snd show a {$190.00} payment on XXXX 1,2020 and another {$200.00} payment XXXX XXXX,2020 and a {$270.00} payment on XXXX XXXX2020 which means there is no way I could be 60 days late on this as I made 2 double payments within those 60 days. I would like this removed from my credit report and updated to on time please.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted an application to FedLoan Servicing for the Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness program ( TEPSLF ) on XX/XX/XXXX, after making my 120th qualifying payment. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter telling me that my loans were in the process of being forgiven under the TEPSLF program since I had met all criteria for forgiveness. It is now four months since I applied for forgiveness and three months since I received confirmation that my loans were being forgiven under the TEPSLF program and I have not heard a single word. I check my FedLoan account regularly, waiting for some sort of movement. I have called to inquire as to the status of forgiveness and am told they have no information for me, and perhaps I should wait for 5-6 months to go by for forgiveness on my loans to be granted before I follow up with them again. This delay is unacceptable, especially when a term of the forgiveness program is that one must remain in qualifying employment up to the day that loan forgiveness is granted, and when the TEPSLF funds are finite. I have done everything asked of me to achieve forgiveness, I qualify for forgiveness, yet I remain at the mercy of FedLoan and the Department of Education to process my application. This should not take months and months to accomplish given all the hoops one must jump through to qualify for forgiveness.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2020. I received notice that Myfedloan.org would be taking over my loan for my son 's college tuition from Mycornerstoneloan.org. I created an account. The next time I tried to log in it gave me an error and said information did not match. I called the provided phone number and was told my birthdate did not match. I was told to fax my driver 's license. I have faxed my D/L on XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. I have also mailed it. I received one e-mail on XXXX which stated they received my request. Still does not work. I have called 10 days or so each time after faxing my D/L. Still no luck. I have literally spent hours on the phone trying to get this resolved. This is some kind of error on the part of the loan company and there is no way I should have had to spend so much time and energy trying to get this fixed.

Consumer Complaint: I am just overwhelmed in paying on this loan. The more I pay, the balance increases. I have paid almost {$3000.00} on this {$6000.00} private student loan, and would like to make a lump sum payment, but afraid this payment will end up floating in the air and not making a dent in the principal balance. AES will not negotiate a payoff and are being hard nosed as usual. Paying {$12000.00} to pay off this loan is a rip off and needs to be investigated. My experience with AES is that of a predator lender.

Consumer Complaint: American Education Services, which is connected with the Pennsylvania XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, has serviced my student loans which are XXXX XXXX loans, even though I don't currently, have never and didn't attend school in Pennsylvania. Due to COVID, federal student loans have been placed on deferment with interest frozen and payments stopped.I reached out to this company to make sure my loans were included and waited weeks to initially hear back and then spent months getting the run around with no specific answers until after threatening to go to the Department of Education they let me know I actually had XXXX loans and that they weren't covered under the CARES Act. My loans had been accruing interest the entire time. After discovering that they were XXXX loans I asked about a direct consolidation that would then make them eligible for the relief as well as any possible federal forgiveness in the future. It has now been XXXX months since I inquired about that and still no response. This " company '' is nothing but a scam and their " customer service '' is a joke. In one of the correspondences I asked about the Service members Civil Relief Act since I spent a decade in the XXXX and was supposed to have a cap on the interest charged and after a week I got a response that says they'll look into it and get back to me. As of this writing they still haven't said anything.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, and I've been having trouble getting AES student loans to disclose basic loan information to me. I'm currently enrolled in an IBR program. I've written to AES several times to request information about when my loan will be eligible for forgiveness. After several emails requesting specifics regarding the date on which my loan will be eligible for forgiveness, I received the following response on XX/XX/2021, in which I was advised that " We are unable to provide the number of qualifying payments you have made or need to make to achieve loan forgiveness through this program. '' And that " We will notify you no later than 6 months prior to the anticipated loan forgiveness date when possible. '' To make this even worse, I received this response after reporting AES to the Department of Education for the refusal to disclose legally mandated loan information to me. This simply does not work for me, and quite frankly, I'm appalled that AES is intentionally refusing to provide me with basic information about my loan information it is required to give me by law. I'm stunned that AES actually thinks that telling a borrower to just go away and keep paying on a loan while actively withholding information about that loan is nothing short of XXXX. Quite frankly, it's outright illegal. I have no idea why I should be expected to continue paying a loan when essentially, AES is refusing to let me know when the terms of that loan will be satisfied or how many qualifying payments I have already made. Is AES seriously suggesting that I should simply trust them to tell me when I no longer need to make payments on the loan. Because of AES 's refusal to disclose this information, I have no way to review payment history or check it for errors which is a basic element of consumer protection rights and an absolute must given all of the known issues with AES.
