Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo put our home into foreclosure without notifying us. On XX/XX/XXXX we received a letter from XXXX law office with a copy of a Wells Fargo statement dated XX/XX/XXXX. This statement showed a balance of {$21000.00} which was due on XX/XX/XXXX. We never received this statement by standard mail or certified mail prior to XX/XX/XXXX. Throughout the following week we tried to review what assets we could liquidate that would pay the overdue balance. However, on XX/XX/XXXX we received a hand written notice of the Sheriff 's sale of our home. We were shocked when we received that notice. Wells Fargo was legally obligated to notify us of this important notice and to have documentation that we received the notice with our signatures before starting action against us. Such an important notice should have been sent by certified mail. They denied us the opportunity to create a plan to obtain the funds or to make a repayment plan before the XX/XX/XXXX deadline. We were completely blindsided by their actions. We have been making mortgage payments for nearly 19 years abs do not want to lose our home. I have attached the XX/XX/XXXX statement. On page 2, in bold print it states that we are 135 days behind and they had NOT started filings against us. There us no warning whatsoever that foreclosure proceedings would start on XX/XX/XXXX if it was not paid. They were obligated to give notice prior to XX/XX/XXXX of the intent to forclosure. The wording is deceptive and misleading. There should be a clearly worded statement in this mailing warning us of imminent forclosure. This company has faced large fines for fraud and illegal foreclosures We are now victims of their deceptive and reckless behavior We were not given opportunity to present a repayment plan, a loan modification or a chance to make smaller payments. I believe that their actions may be retaliatory. Early into the mortgage we received harassing phone calls from the company. They would verbally abuse us and scream at us on the phone claiming that our payment was late. At the time of these calls, we had documentation that the payment had been made on time and received by the company well within the Grace period. We documented these calls and reported the harassment to Minnesota Attorney General, XXXX XXXX. She wrote them a letter prohibiting them from calling us. For the past several months, they have called several times a day. These calls are very upsetting. I had such a horrible experience with them in the past and I am afraid to speak with them When we purchased our home we were forced to take out 2 loans. One was a 30 year fixed mortgage the other had a variable rate. They did not give an explanation ; they said we had to do it that way to get the home. We really loved the house and they said we had to finance it that way. We were told at closing that the 2nd loan would have a Ballon payment. The balloon payment of {$140.00} was due in XXXX We weren't able to make the payment and could not find lender that wanted to finance what they call a " second mortgage '' We considered selling the home at that time, but the property value had decreased considerably and would have a big loss. We have not had much communication from the about the loan since then. I found out in XXXX that they had changed us over {$30000.00} in fees and are charging us {$70.00} a day. I have attached a recent statement. It states that were owe XXXX but payment due is {$0.00}. Nowhere on the letter does it state that we are being charged these fees. We were forced to take out this type of loan and their reasons for financing it that way was not explained. What they did to us us wrong. We are desperately trying to sell our house as soon as possible. We should not have to pay these exorbitant extra fees. We are asking for your help. We do not want to lose our home to forclosure.

Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo is garnishing my wages! A victim of both the XXXX Breach and XXXX XXXXXXXX breach, I was out on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and upon returning to work, a few months after which I realized my pay seemed very low comparatively, come to find out I had a summons against me!!!! Now wages are being levied -mind you NO paperwork was served, and MY EMPLOYER NEVER PROVIDED THE DOCUMENTS TO FIGHT FOR MY MONEY now w a judgment against me for debt that is not mine! I have not a shred of paperwork my employer is 3k miles away and accounting rejects my emails to request the paperwork they received so I know what I am even being sued for and by whom. Long story short I was told the garnishment was for Wells Fargo and giving my employer instructions like that will do me any good and not even given my instructions ( too late to fight at this point ) but some sort of idea of what is going on here either way, found out this apparent debt that I owe was filed by wells in XXXX XXXX and got the case number did some digging and paid an arm and a leg on courts website to print paperwork from this judgment I had no clue was happening and not only do they have zero proof the debt is mine ( had a rep " testify " on paper he knew me and remembered my paperwork in OH - never been to this state in my life nor would ever want to but long story short this liar said the documents are lost or destroyed so his word is evidence and they won the judgment by default. Clueless in the law I filed an exemption after hours of research thinking after they saw I am on gov medical insurance and make XXXX barely scraping by and for years have not spent any money on a shred of entertainment to budget my money now it is going to a bank who have a credit card I am assuming again no paperwork to show what or where or who this debt belongs to etc and it is def not mine! So now I am losing my house and back and owe my landlady rent bless her heart and after six months on XXXX from the injury, I am so far down in debt now I'll never get out. I want Wells Fargo to show me evidentiary proof that this is my debt owed, I want to see my signature on the contract ( being sued for breach of contract ) and as a taxpaying American citizen with rights, I was this creditor to prove to me with a shred of evidence that the debt belongs to me. If this is a credit card I certainly never gave this thief permission to use my information and bounce out on XXXX due to the most correct bank in the country. I have reached out to them via courts filing the exemption that they have now opposed!!! So I am done, I am terrified to contact them directly as I have read this may assume the responsibility of the debt thru some admission of sorts. So I am here on a government website and asking my government to use my tax money to show this bank I have filed a complaint and I want answers I want proof and I want evidence. I want the contact documents per sued for breach of contract you miraculously lost and if they can't prove and provide this to me within the lawful timeframe given I am filing a countersuit and submitting a motion with the courts to sue them back and get me rights back and my money back. I have not only been victimized by identity theft causing endless anguish and financial ruin for years now and continuing still but I will not be unlawfully targeted and punished for a debt I have not made. I pay my bills! I don't pay somebody else 's especially these fraudulent people who have destroyed me on paper financially and now legally and literally. Anxiously awaiting my proof or a court dismissal and returned hard-earned wages. My credit ruin is still a work in progress and never before did I think a bank would take this sort of action without a shred of notice given to me or a shred of proof no less it is mine. The only debt on my credit is from careless companies that had my personal information and I entrusted them to keep it private only to lose it in not one but two breaches thus far I have had all collections removed per the theft was validated by them also therefore lawfully removed. Wells Fargo may now do the same as I am so terrified of any legal action moving forward with them directly even sending a dispute or calling to get the evidence they ( won't have because it is not mine ) claim they have or had whatever either way this is disgusting and I am sick and two weeks from homelessness and need this case dismissed rightfully so and my levied money I work hard for back to me the rightful owner and earner and away from this bank who illegally got away with robbing me of it thru unconstitutional and fraudulent claims/heresy by reps of the company who claim they remember me in Ohio ( I have lived in XXXX XXXX my whole life never left since adulthood ) so this bogus judgment needs to be proven or dismissed asap

Consumer Complaint: My mother passed away in XXXX of XXXX, and a life insurance check dated XX/XX/XXXX ( # XXXX {$10000.00} ) for policy # XXXX was issued by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and deposited on XX/XX/2016. Consumer Complaint: I received a phone call from the fraud department at Wells Fargo on XX/XX/XXXX concerning a transaction from my savings account for {$25000.00}. WF stated that the money was a wire transfer initiated through online banking. That afternoon, I went to my local WF branch and spoke to a representative about the fraudulent transfer. I'm not sure why, at that point, WF didn't freeze the wire transfer. I told them this was not done by me ( or my wife ) and a claim was started to dispute the transaction ( claim # XXXX ). WF closed the savings account, reopened another, and moved the remaining money into this new account. On XX/XX/, we received a letter from WF stating that our claim was denied and that they determined the transaction was performed by me or someone using my username and password. Moreover, WF stated that we are responsible for online wires that originate using my username and password. I did not make this wire transfer. Please help me to recover the {$25000.00}.

Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, Wells Fargo closed all my accounts including checking, savings, and credit card. In addition, WF also made a cash advance in excess of {$10000.00} to cover the overdraft protection of the checking account. The overdraft was caused by WF accepting a deposit of {$48000.00} and subsequent wire transfers that were made based on WF accepting such a high dollar amount without putting the deposit on hold for any time. The deposit was based on a checking account made from a bogus XXXX XXXX account made in my name and without my permission by XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX. I wrongfully assumed that I was merely added as a user for the phony XXXX XXXX account. As of this date, Wells Fargo has not taken any responsibility for accepting such a large deposit without first putting it on hold. In addition, WF is contacting me about a settlement of a chargeoff of {$38000.00} which is for the {$48000.00} minus {$10000.00} that WF took from my checking, savings account, and a cash advance from my WF credit card. Recently, I have accepted that I am a victim of a financial scam and have filed a report with the XXXX XXXX Police Department on XX/XX/XXXX, and am awaiting to be contacted by the detective in the financial fraud department. I also wrote a letter and sent it by USPO to XXXX XXXX, Financial Fraud Manager for WF. Any previous contact with WF has not been satisfactory to this very day.
