Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: I've had a checking account with Wells Fargo for over 10 years. On XX/XX/XXXX, while on vacation in XXXX, I received an email from Wells Fargo that they had detected some unusual activity on my Wells Fargo Debit Card ending in XXXX. At this time, I also received an email alert that someone had changed my password and changed the phone number associated with my account. I did not make these changes. I immediately contacted Wells Fargo and they assisted me in closing my account, canceling my debit card, and filing a claim for the following fraudulent transactions made in California : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA {$1000.00} XX/XX/XXXX ATM Transaction XXXX XXXX XXXX CA {$1000.00} XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX CARD XXXX {$250.00} Wells Fargo issued me a new debit card and a new account number ( ending in XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX, I received alerts of two new charges on this new account, even though I had not yet received my new debit card in the mail. I immediately called Wells Fargo again and was told that my original claim had been closed ( reference number : XXXX ) as they had determined I had made those transactions myself. As I did not make these transactions, was not in the state at the time, hadn't lost my debit card, or changed my account information, I informed them that I had not made those transactions and refiled a claim ( reference number : XXXX ) as well as a complaint. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Wells Fargo again as I hadn't received any updates about the resolution of my claim or complaint, and I was then again told my claim had been closed. Wells Fargo had credited my account for the amount of the two new charges from XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ( totaling {$63.00} ) but had denied my claim for the fraudulent transactions on XX/XX/XXXX ( totaling {$2200.00} ). At this time, I filed an additional complaint with Wells Fargo ( reference number : XXXX ) and was told that were no other avenues for me to take to recover the {$2200.00}. Throughout the duration of XXXX XXXX XXXX, I did not lose my debit card, share my PIN with anyone, or make the transactions outlined here and I would like {$2200.00} restored to my account.

Consumer Complaint: I have keep sufficient funds at Wells Fargo for my accounts to inclusive of their PMA Premier Checking. The advantage of PMA Premier checking is that there are no wire transfer fees. Recently I noticed that a wire transfer fee was charge to my account. I discussed this with Wells Fargo customer service and they agreed that I have a PMA account but they would NOT remove the wire transfer fee. Terrible customer service officer and considering closing all my accounts with the bank I have been using for XXXX years.

Consumer Complaint: I had filed the below complaint earlier today ... which was forwarded to Wells Fargo. A Wells Fargo representative called me this afternoon, and i mentioned i forgot to include the original letter i received from Wells Fargo Mortgage on the " Account Adjustment for overpaid interest during Covid-19 Deferral '' on my mortgage ending XXXX. The Wells Fargo employee suggested i do a new complaint and include the form and this will be forwarded to him. The employee is XXXX ( phone XXXX ). So in this submission i have listed the original complaint and uploaded the original letter from Wells Fargo Mortgage... stating that an interest rate change occurred during forbearance period resulting in overpaid interest during Covid 19 deferral. My complaint below is this overpayment of interest should also apply for my other mortgage loan ( LXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) which was under Covid 19 Deferral for the same period..only difference i paid off this loan in XX/XX/2020. Here is the previous note i sent to CFPB : " I had two Mortgages with Wells Fargo Bank. The first Mortgage ( XXXX # : XXXX ) with a principal balance of {$720000.00} was paid off on XX/XX/2020. The 2nd Mortgage ( Loan # : XXXX ) with a balance of ~ {$280000.00} is still active. During the Covid period in 2020, i took Covid-19 Deferral for both mortgages for the exact same period ( due to Covid Deferral my mortgage payments were deferred ). In 2020 i received a letter from Wells Fargo saying on my mortgage that is still active ( Loan # : XXXX ) Wells Fargo Overcharged me for Deferred Interest ( something to do with interest rate change occurrence ) and gave me a refund/interest rate adjustment of {$3900.00} and a check for {$370.00} for a total of {$4300.00}. I then contacted Wells Fargo and said this interest rate change occurrence also applied to the other mortgage which i paid off in ( Loan # XXXX ). This loan had a principal balance of {$720000.00} and then Wells Fargo made me pay {$740000.00} or + {$15000.00} due to interest and " other charges ''. I believe this includes Deferred interest due to Covid 19, and this interest calculation is incorrect ( made the same mistake as my current loan ). I wrote to Wells Fargo 3 times on this, and they have not responded. Since the mortgage is paid off they do not want to open a can of worms because if this mistake applies to all loans with Covid 19 Deferral that were paid off Wells Fargo will have a big liability on their hands. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in looking into the interest calculation for both loans ... and check if the mistake made on the loan where they gave me a refund applies to the larger loan. The dollars are very material for me. Thank you ''

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX XXXX. Wells Fargo Foreclosed on my house at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, Michigan XXXX illegally. I am enclosing this paperwork to you proving that they did this. The person they foreclosed on was XXXX XXXX XXXX, who had a bankruptcy. This is not me. We are not in litigation with Wells Fargo as the case was closed after they took our home and the home of our XXXX children, XXXX of them being adults now. Wells Fargo illegally put a dumpster on our property and took all the contents of our XXXX square foot home and my entire business that was in the garage and my XXXX XXXX XXXX Daughter XXXX XXXX XXXX art work and through it away before they illegally foreclosed on our family. We had also found them cutting our grass and called the Police and the Police made them leave due to trespassing. Enclosed is the paper showing a different name that is not mine. I have since that time tried to apply for a mortgage and was falsely accused of being a person by the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX and accused of not paying my bills due to this person being in bankruptcy. I was denied a loan with the USDA because Wells Fargo and XXXX Title not doing their due process and putting this person that is not me and foreclosing. We have reached out to your agency several times and even bringing the letters I wrote to you on 2 separate occasions which are still on my file and have case numbers proving Wells Fargo would not modify our loan and then in Fraud foreclosed on it. It has just come to my attention in the last week that this paper existed. Wells Fargo is still acting in Fraud as they even with me calling them refuses to pay recompose for their crimes and what they did to our family. I have called them and spoke to XXXX in the last several months and although she was compassionate, she did nothing the first time I called. I was directed to her again to find out where our compensation is for what happened. Now you will once again have more supporting documentation. We are requesting that Wells Fargo be held accountable and pay us back for the home, our belongings, and my daughters lost art that she will never have back. She is becoming quite famous on XXXX, and now she will never have her first art due to Wells Fargo coming on our property and stealing all of our belongings before they illegally foreclosed. Please Note : They have done nothing. Please also if we can be compensated out of the Civil relief fund. Once you read the report I am uploading you will see the crime.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am filing a complaint in response to my previous claim number XXXX Claim XXXX Wells Fargo stated , " Based on the information provided and our research, our Claims Assistance Center completed their investigation and it was determined the transactions were authorized, and no error had occurred. During our investigation of the claim, we have determined that the merchant obtained a valid authorization for the full transaction amount in Visa for these transactions. Based on this information our Claims Assistance Center '' Claim XXXX Wells Fargo states, " Based on the information provided and our research, our Claims Assistance Center completed their investigation, and it was determined the transaction was authorized, and there was no processing error. Please note, based on the information at hand, no new information has been made available to determine that a merchant error occurred, or to be able to continue any dispute. '' Claim XXXX Wells Fargo states, " Based on the information provided and our research, our Claims Assistance Center completed their investigation, and it was determined the transactions were authorized, and no error had occurred. On XX/XX/2023, the claim was denied and closed, and a letter was mailed out to the address on file on the same day. After our research we have determined that the merchant obtained a valid authorization for the full transaction amount in Visa for these transactions. Based on this information our Claims Assistance Center reviewed the claim and determined there was no merchant error, and the merchant obtained valid authorization to charge your card. As a result, your claim was denied and closed. '' Response : At first, my claim is about merchandise/service not received for which I have provided the documents to the best of my ability including conversation with the website where I made the payment, email from the website and picture of my account disabled. Wells Fargo has not even made an attempt to reach out to the merchant and ask for the documentation and have come to their own agreements stating the the merchant transaction was valid. Consumer is complaining for a reason and has provided the documentation and constant email and chat conversation yet Wells fargo has decided to overlook these documents. Can Wells Fargo please explain how they can make assumptions that the merchant provided services without trying to question them when your customer has been complaining for 6 weeks and has provided documents for your every request. I do not have documents of my account not showing online credits as the merchant has deactivated/disabled my account so I can't win the case.

Consumer Complaint: My Mortgage was due to be paid in XXXX. I had a Tax bill issues XX/XX/XXXX that had a due date of XX/XX/XXXX to be paid out of Escrow. There were sufficient funds for this bill. As previously discussed with a Wells Fargo Mortgage specialist I arranged that I would call XXXX to expedite the payment of the Tax bill in order that I could get a Final Payment Quote and make the final mortgage payment. Wells Fargo would then forward the Escrow balance to me. I discovered today that Wells Fargo used funds from MY Escrow account to pay off my Mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX, which is 23 days early. I gave no such permission for Wells Fargo to use my Escrow funds in this way and they did not contact me to ask permission or tell me that they had no intention of paying the Tax Bill on my behalf. They are also arranging to mail me a check for the balance of the Escrow amount 15 days from the date of pay-off. Had I not chosen today to contact Wells Fargo, as previously discussed with the bank I would have been unaware of the situation and could have defaulted on my Tax Payment. I have now had to contact the County Auditor to have a copy of my Tax Bill mailed to me so I can make the payment on time. I have always understood that an Escrow account was the property of the customer, and the funds were managed by the loaner to pay bills from agreed sources and when necessary refund any balance to the customer. My Escrow funds have been misappropriated to pay mortgage payment early ( over 3 weeks early ) whilst neglecting to do anything about a bill that they were contracted to pay.

Consumer Complaint: I just read the company`s response. First of all they have the incorrect sales date. They have it on their response that the vehicle was purchased on XX/XX/XXXX, it was XX/XX/2022. Secondly, they state that they paid the dealership {$28000.00}, the correct amount was {$27000.00}. Also, Wells Fargo Auto Finance should have known better than to pay out for a loan of that magnitude without checking the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. They also state that they were not resent, they didn`t need to be present. They should have checked the value, and asked for photos of the vehicle seeing that it was used and had over XXXX miles on it. They didn`t do anything correctly. Another thing they should have asked for was proof of income in written format, they did not, and it is required that they see three months on Bank Statements. Wells Fargo Auto Finance made a huge amount of errors, so they will have to refund every payment I've made and take the vehicle back. I only receive {$870.00} in SSDI payments, I have the award letter attached to this.
