Consumer Complaint: XXXX 2015-XXXX 2015 emails and in person visits to the local branch. I had a vehicle loan with Wells Fargo and I would be charged random fees which wouldnt be paid bc I made my car payment and no extra so those fees accumulated for fee and late fees that I was not notified about until I was threatened with a repo over a nominal amount. During this time I had to have a checking/savings account open to be able to have an auto loan so the bank would attempt to pull from that account as well again not having the correct funding it would decline and again with the fees. Due to having to finance the vehicle loan I opted in for XXXX insurance with this bank as well bc it was required and offered at a cheaper rate than the dealership, when it came time to trade my car in I was unable to get my partial XXXX back.

Consumer Complaint: I had noticed several suspicious transactions on my account, Wells Fargo had caught them and didn't let them go through. on XXXX and XXXX I received 2 notifications of XXXX transfers on my account for {$3500.00} and {$7500.00} and I denied the requests sent through text from Wells Fargo. After this had happened, I called and reported the fraudulent activity to Wells Fargo. Instead of changing my account number and login information, they just put in for a new debit card request. Within a few minutes I received a phone call from Wells Fargo Fraud claims. This person had to have been a Wells Fargo employee either current or ex employee. The Phone number they had called me from was the verified Wells Fargo phone number and they literally asked for all the same things Wells Fargo asks for on every phone call. I honestly feel as if this was an inside job from Wells Fargo. At this time my account should have been locked in order to prevent fraudulent activity but it was not, due to neglect from the employee I reported the fraud to. Instead the person I was on the phone with cleaned out my account with 2 wire transfers, one for {$6500.00} and the other for {$7500.00} totaling {$14000.00}. which was basically all of my money in my checking account. they left me {$35.00} in my account. After checking and seeing my account was cleared out, I immediately contacted Wells Fargo and they setup a new account number and login information which should have been done on the first call I made to report the fraud before it was committed. I just received a letter from Wells Fargo stating that they are not liable and I'm now out {$14000.00} I called to dispute and I got absolutely nowhere with them.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX we had a checking account at Wells Fargo and constantly had overdraft fees because they would put all of the withdrawals and debits through before the deposits and direct deposits so that we would have hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees. When my husband and boyfriend h complained, they told us that was policy. We eventually closed that account in XXXX because we constantly had issues with them charging us fees, and opened an account at another bank.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXXXX/XX/2023, I was applying for Wells Fargo credit card based on an offer I was sent in the mail. As I was speaking to the agent and providing my personal data for the application, I remembered I had frozen access to my credit with the XXXX credit reporting agencies. I asked agent hold while I unfroze my credit inquiry access with the reporting agencies. She agreed to hold while I unfroze the access. I was able to do this online while she was on the phone line. She checked my credit with XXXX and when she returned to the call, she said that Wells Fargo needed to get back to me is decision in the mail within XXXX business days. By the afternoon, I received an email that I was denied. My credit score before this request for credit was over XXXX and Im normally granted credit. Now understand that the first attempt to check my credit file, they said access was blocked whereas I had emails that my credit was unfrozen. Now, Ive been denied credit and have an inquiry on my credit file with a lower credit score, to boot. My belief is that my credit request was improperly accessed and evaluated. The offer sent by Wells Fargo had favorably XXXX XXXX terms for a transfer which is the reason I even made the application. I feel I was unfairly treated and desire proper consideration.

Consumer Complaint: OnXX/XX/XXXX I was pre-approved for a conventional 15 year mortgage with Wells Fargo. The property was a condo with a land lease with an expiration date of 17 years. Before I applied, i asked my loan advisor to make sure that they offered a loan that would fit that. He said yes, I could get a 15 year loan with 2 years buffer between the loan payoff and the land lease expiration. I was very up front in my questions since other lenders do not offer loans for properties with land leases. I went through the process, opened escrow, ordered my property inspection, as per the direction of my loan advisor. One of the conditions of my loan was to have the money for my down payment in my account. This came in the form of a withdrawal from my 401k. Again, as a condition of my loan they had to have all of the documents for review as well. Everything was going fine with a closing date of XXXX. I wired my closing funds to escrow on XXXX removing all of my conditions. On XXXX I was informed that the XXXX XXXX had issues with the land lease, and it had been escalated to legal. Then my loan advisor said that they wouldn't approve a 15 year loan as they wanted more time between the loan payoff and the land lease expiration. They said that they would go as long as an 11 year loan, which I could not afford. I feel like this was a bait and switch situation as I had not had any talk about this before this time ( when I should have already signed loan docs ). This is an unfair and deceptive lending practice, as they made me, as a condition of the loan take my distribution and prove it, creating tax implications that could have been avoided if they would have told me upfront that they were not able to offer that loan due to the land lease. Then they waited until I had wired my closing funds to escrow, again at the direction of my lending advisor. Due to them not doing their due diligence on the land lease, I did not get the property, took a distribution that I was not able to put back, and had to pay over {$25000.00} in taxes over these years due to the distribution. I made a complaint in XXXX with Wells saying that they did nothing wrong. It took me 3 tries to get them to respond, then they sent the letter to the property that I did not get. I made another complaint this year because I have has to pay an exorbitant amount of taxes due to this, I was able to split it over 3 years due to covid rules. Again, they claim that they have no culpability.
