Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I purchased a condo in XXXX for {$50000.00} with Wells Fargo as the lender with an XXXX APR. In XXXX, I did a [ mortgage ] re-modification loan under Wells Fargo XXXXs program to avoid foreclosure. I was told not to pay any payments until the modification went through. This process took relatively XXXX months with me sending paperwork back and forth. After the process, I noticed my payments went down roughly {$75.00} put my XXXX stayed the same which is what was odd at the time. My principal balance in the last quarter of XXXX showed a balance of {$45000.00}. However, when I filed in XXXX my balance was {$50000.00}. In XXXX Wells Fargo sold my mortgage to another lender XXXX XXXX XXXX which I was told that they had a right to and do it from time to time. Today I noticed that my principal is XXXX with XXXX. I recall Wells Fargo class action lawsuit where I received a small card and sent it back but never heard anything from it. I also recall a few banks such as Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX being sued regarding modification loans. I've been at my place for over 20 years and just paid {$3000.00} on my principal? I would like help regarding an investigation into this practice. As a minority, I should have at least {$10000.00} toward my principal. I feel that Wells Fargo has taken advantage of this situation and myself. After the class action lawsuits, it seems they sold my mortgage to perhaps cover this up. any help or leads regarding the next step will be appreciated.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo I have had an account with since 2013. I signed up for checking that was free as long as I used 10 debits a month. I receive tips as payments and unknown to me, I was being charged a service fee every month because it changed without notifying me. I had no idea I was being charged because it was not described on my account. I had overdrafts because of this. The new policy said if I had direct deposit I wouldnt be charged but I did not sign up for this. I dont get a paycheck because I make tips through my job as a bartender. It is not clear to me how long I was being charged. Im not sure when the change accrued. I called to complain and one lady called me a liar and the other one said they switched. I should have had a free account as long as I used my Debit card 10 times a month. I guess they were forced to disclose this charge eventually and i thats when I found out about tbr fees being taken without my knowledge or consent.

Issue: Fraud or scam
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: My relative 's XXXX account was hacked on XX/XX/XXXX. This account has not been recovered ( as of XX/XX/XXXX ) and the hacker is still attempting to use it to request money through XXXX. My cousin and I have sent money to each other in the past year. The hacker who stole his identity has a network of criminals with accounts in the XXXX XXXX who participate in XXXX. The hacker sent me a XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX requesting money via XXXX and provided the email and name XXXX, XXXX XXXX. I tried to call my relative ( not knowing the account was stolen ) and he responded via text that the email connection was bad. I was asked to deposit in this XXXX account twice within minutes, I did deposit {$550.00} and then {$1000.00}, and a third amount was requested but by that point, I was suspicious because this had been done via texts and not voicemail. I attempted to cancel the transfers but they went through very fast. On the morning of XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted the fraud department of Wells Fargo XXXX and explained that these two transfers were push authorization payments obtained through fraud by a criminal who had hacked into a XXXX account, therefore unauthorized ( Federal Reserve Board Reg E ). On XX/XX/XXXX ( date on letters ) Wells Fargo sent two letters ( one per claim ) stating they had received my claims and on the same day, they wrote two letters explaining that my claims had been denied because they determined the transfers were completed as requested by me. So Wells Fargo knows what financial institution and what account my money went to ( the XXXX XXXX account of XXXX ). The fact that this transfer was completed as a result of identity theft was not taken into account. They have not even reported XXXX XXXX 's email address XXXX as a person in a chain of scams and fraud in what appears to be an international hacking operation. My bank seems to be protecting these criminals more than protecting me. I have filed a report with the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission and also with the State of NM Office of the Attorney General ( they have called me and guided me through several steps ). As a US citizen, I am concerned that this XXXX hacker targeting US Bank account holders who have relatives abroad can continue to hack and steal via his chain of criminals with bank accounts linked to XXXX. Wells Fargo is not even flagging the account used to steal my money and has not provided me with any information about the owner of the account. I know nothing has been done because I can add the hackers account to my XXXX and it is still viable and there is no warning about the XXXX accounts connection to a crime. I have already called the FDIC at XXXX ( who has also provided guidance. )

Consumer Complaint: I was trying to pay rent today at The XXXX XXXX Apartments. And noticed added an extra XXXX to my balance which wasn't right. I talked to the manager and tried to dispute it and almost successfully untill i accidentally sent the payment while trying navigate their app. was told to call my bank ( Wells Fargo ) as they could do nothing to dispute it from their side Wells Fargo told me nothing can be done till the payment posted in my account which will take more than a day to do since i used checking to pay for rent. So I'm caught in a limbo where I don't want my apartment to take extra money out my account but I have to wait for it to happen in order to even get that money back.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Went on a vacation from XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX up in Vermont which is on the XXXX XXXX XXXX At some point during the drive up, my credit card information was stolen. Between XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX a list of purchases were made in XXXX XXXX which were NOT by me. I promptly called the company to report this and the card was shut down and a new one was issued. I told the person I spoke with that any charges outside of the United States were not authorized and they proceeded to create the claims list. I thought this was fairly straightforward and the process was easy... or so I thought. Less than a week passes by and I see the fraudulent charges added to my new card number along with a handful of adjustments. Some of the adjustments didn't match any of the fraudulent charges nor was the total amount for adjustments correct. I call back to correct this and the person I spoke with this time around got frustrated with me saying I can't simple state " all charges outside of the US are fraud ''. So we go line by line for what the fraudulent charges are which totaled {$1900.00}. About week passes by and the majority of the fraud charges have corresponding adjustments and the valid purchases have also been corrected. All but XXXX charge for {$95.00} had been accounted for. So I call once again and this charge is added to the list. Some time passes again and I see no change on my account. I get a letter in the mail saying the {$95.00} has been denied because I had my card in possession. I call the number on the letter and ask for more details on why this was denied. I am told the same exact thing with no further details. I ask to re-open the claim on that and we go through the information that once again. Before we hang up the person said something eluding to the other charges were also denied so I stop him and ask him to confirm whether they had been denied. I never received a letter saying these were denied but somehow they were? So once again, we go over the list he has and he's listing charges I have absolutely no visibility on at all. I bring this up and say no where on my account do I see that and he said it may be on my previous card number which I also have no access to. We make another list based on the only information I have at this point and I state I have a hotel statement and XXXX locations showing I was not in XXXX. I am told to fax this information over which the google location information will not fax over correctly. At this point I have no faith that this company can correctly resolve this issue with the current personnel looking over this account.
