Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: A few months ago, I was approved for a trial payment plan. I had previously submitted a partial payment to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage ( WFHM ). When making my first trial payment, I made the wrong assumption that the partial payment could be included as part of the first payment. Due to that error on my part, I was removed from the trial plan and review for assistance. I had to start the process over to be reviewed for assistance again. My request was denied and I was only approved for a short sale. Per the letter that I received, I was ineligible for a Repayment Plan. I agreed with that decision. Additionally, I was ineligible for a VA Affordable Modification or a VA Loan Modification due to having reached the allowable number of modifications per VA guidelines. As a result, I contacted the VA. Via email, I received guidance that the VA would waive that rule if WFHM requested a waiver. I sent that email along with an appeal request form to WFHM. Today, I received two letters from WFHM. The first one stated that they were reviewing their decision in response to my appeal. The second letter, dated a day later, stated that they had determined that I still do not meet the requirements for payment assistance. The letter further states " We will continue to work with you to help you avoid a foreclosure sale. '' I was deemed ineligible due to a VA guideline. The VA agreed to waive it, but WFHM denied my appeal, which is the opposite of helping me.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to inquire about the {$320.00} new checking account opening bonus in relation to my recent checking account that was opened on XX/XX/XXXX with Wells Fargo Bank. My Promotion Code is XXXX. As per the requirements for the account opening bonus, I completed a Direct Deposit transaction on XX/XX/XXXX, totaling {$1000.00}, within 30 days of opening the account. However, to my disappointment, I have not yet received the promised bonus despite waiting for nearly 4 months. I attempted to reach out to the customer service department of Wells Fargo and was informed that the bonus had been rejected. However, based on my understanding and compliance with the bonus conditions, I believe I am eligible for the account opening reward. I sincerely hope you can assist me in resolving this matter. As a new customer, I hold a positive trust and expectation in Wells Fargo and aim to build a strong partnership with your bank.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I saw a promotion to open a new checking account with Wells Fargo with a reward of {$300.00}. Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am writing to bring up a case of negligence in handling a wire fraud incident that I fell victim to. I believe that inadequate procedures and actions have led to the loss of a significant amount of my funds and have caused considerable distress to my family and me. On XX/XX/2023, I was targeted by fraudsters who impersonated our title company and deceived me into wiring {$87000.00} from my Wells Fargo checking account to a fraudulent account at XXXX. The fraudulent nature of the transaction came to light the following day, prompting me to report the incident to Wells Fargo immediately. I also took further action by filing a complaint on ic3.gov. Following the incident, both Wells Fargo and XXXX were engaged in the investigative process. XXXXXXXX XXXX Wire Fraud Department not only verified the presence of the precise amount within the fraudulent account but also ascertained that the said account had been promptly frozen on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, a representative from XXXX 's XXXX branch confirmed the frozen status of the account to me and conveyed that it was slated for closure within 30 days, assuring me that the funds would be returned to me within this timeframe. Despite these confirmations and assurances, the subsequent course of actions have been markedly disappointing. Regrettably, I must inform you that Wells Fargo has taken a concerning stance. They are currently refusing to provide me with assistance by sharing the findings of their investigation, despite my exercise of the right to documentation. The information contained within this document, coupled with the statement from the Wells Fargo banker regarding his communication on the frozen status of the account, holds critical significance for my pursuit of repayment from XXXX. Despite my proactive efforts and cooperation, the situation has escalated into a complex ordeal, where not only the mishandling of the wire recall process by XXXX has resulted in severe financial and emotional consequences, but also Wells Fargo 's reluctance to provide necessary information further exacerbates the distressing circumstances. I am seeking your intervention in this matter to address the negligence displayed by both Wells Fargo and XXXX. The disregard for proper procedures and the mishandling of the wire recall process have resulted in the loss of our hard-earned savings and an overwhelming sense of injustice. I kindly request that your office investigate this incident thoroughly and bring the unjust bank practices to light. Additionally, I am seeking guidance on potential avenues for recovering the wrongfully released funds, including any assistance your office may be able to provide in cooperation with relevant authorities. Thanks, XXXX XXXX ( P.S. I am happy to provide any necessary documents that I have regarding communications that I had with XXXX and Wells Fargo to assist in this investigation )
