Consumer Complaint: I have been writing letters since XX/XX/2021 and never got a response. This is unacceptable. The FCRA gives them 30 DAYS. They have taken over 90 ; this is a violation and they are required to remove all of the accounts that they have failed to investigate. There is no way that the FCRA should be ignored and I have to suffer, especially during a time when credit is needed for employment, dwelling, insurance, and more. There is too much going on right now to request a consumer to wait EVEN LONGER than federally mandated. The FCRA was created for a reason. They are to follow it. Every item should be removed

Consumer Complaint: Good morning. I am a consumer bankruptcy attorney. As such I sometimes get letters addressed to debtors whom I do no know and/or do not represent. I always contact the collection company to let them know. Today I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX by phone to let them know or represent a " XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX ). They asked for the " XXXX ID XXXX '' and the representative advised that they could not pull up the account by the ID Number as XXXX 's ID XXXX. have all changed. I was stunned that they are sending letters to wrong addresses and when I call them so that they can update their system to give property notice to a debtor they have no way to update their system. XXXX was collecting for LVNV so I reached out to them directly to advise them of the problems and my concern. They said they could only pull the account up in their system if I had the debtor 's social security number. Of course I do not know or represent the individual so how could I have the social security number. My question is how can they be properly noticing the debtors if, when they care sending incorrect notices out, they have no way to update the system when someone calls to tell them they have the wrong address. My guess is that this is a systemic problem and something the CFPB should be investigating for pattern and practice.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding a collection attempt for a supposed debt that I owe. As is standard practice, I sent a letter of debt verification to the company and instructed in the letter for them to send me back a letter of debt verification as well as to take the debt off of my credit report while the debt was being verified. During this, I gave the company 30 days to verify the debt. 30 days passed and I heard nothing from XXXX XXXX, until one day I receive a letter from a new debt collection agency for the same amount of money and the debt was also placed on my credit report. It is my understanding that XXXX XXXX, instead of verifying my debt information and getting back to me accordingly, sold the debt to a different company and in the same breath placed the debt on my credit report.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I tried contacting the debt buyer, Resurgent/LVNV Funding by mail letting them know that the account was paid in full to another debt collector. They replied they needed further information. I sent them the date payment was made, the name of the debt collection Agency and a copy of the receipt. They responded that the receipt was only a ticket with the correct amount of {$630.00} and date but it was not a carbon copy with whom the payment was made too. I then sent more supporting documents which was not sufficient. I then asked them to reach out to the originator of the debt ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) They refused and said according to their information, I still owe this debt. I contacted them by phone and got the same thing, according to their information I still owe, the account was still active.
