Consumer Complaint: I was contacted about a collection debt on a credit card that went into collections due to covid 19. I had made a payoff arrangement on XX/XX/XXXX to pay the debt off. I paid it off early on XX/XX/XXXX only to have it remain in collections on my credit report. I had contacted Portfolio Recovery to remedy this issue only to be told the mistake had been made on their end and it would be fixed and removed from my report by XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX it still remains on and as having an unpaid amount. Once again I contacted Portfolio Recovery only to be promised the same thing again. I paid this off almost 2 months ago and they are not treating it as so and removing it from my credit only telling me the same thing over and over again and admitting responsibility on their end but not fixing the situation.

Consumer Complaint: Portfolio Recovery Associates filed a lawsuit against me. I hired an Attorney. Attorney requested information from them. They didn't respond. Day of court they did not show up for court. The case was dismissed. I have also requested validation of the allege debt. Since they did not want to produce any validating of the alleg debt, I don't know where they got it from. They did not respond. Pursuant to Federal Law it shall be deleted from my credit report. I have also, sent a letter stating that they shall Cease and Desist all collection efforts. I have just noticed that they have different names and addresses for this company. I send all certified mail to the address that is on my credit report. Also their name on the the court filings and CFPBs ' system are different than what is on my credit report. Is this another deceptive practice? Do they do this in order to not receive dispute letters from consumers? I have never received a returned to sender letter when mailing to the address on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Portfoliorecovery was calling me 4 to 5 times a day. I called back and asked who they are and why they keep calling. They were looking for my daughter. I told them she has not lived here in over 4 years and remove my number. They stopped calling for about a month then it started again. I again told them she has not lived here and stop harassing me. It stopped for about a month and has started again. They have called starting XX/XX/22. They are calling again. I have not called them again. Twice is enough to tell them the person is not here. This needs to stop.
