Consumer Complaint: Portfolio Recovery A has violated my federally protected rights under the FDCPA. I the consumer was never obligated nor responsible to pay you a 3rd party debt collector pursuant to 15 U.S.C 1692a-3. You infringed upon my rights to privacy. I was called multiple times by Portfolio Recovery with the intent to harass, annoy and coerce me into paying the alleged debt which I did out of fear.. And they still used my consumer report with Extortionate means to coerce and swindle me into paying an alleged debt on an extension of credit violating 18 USC 894 and Portfolio Recovery employees/agents assume criminally liable and can face up to 20 years in jail.

Consumer Complaint: I found a collections account for Portfolio Recovery while checking my XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX that was opened XX/XX/XXXX. ( See attached ) I have not had any contact with this company prior to this. I called Portfolio Recovery on XX/XX/XXXX inquiring about the alleged debt. I was told they could not locate my account. I demanded the damaging credit report account be removed immediately. I was hung up on. After several days, I emailed a Portfolio Recovery on XX/XX/XXXX, again demanding validation of debt ( see attached ). This email was ignored and never answered. I went to Portfolio Recovery website and clicked their chat tab and was directed to a live agent. I copy and pasted the content of my previous email ( see attached ) into the chat window and included my full legal name and address. I was again told there was no account under my name. ( See attached ). I demanded the account be removed from my credit report. I was told to call the same number I called prior, then the agent immediately left the chat. Portfolio Recovery has been damaging my credit for the past 1 year 5 months and refuses to remove their damaging credit collections account from my credit, despite admitting to having NO accounts with my name.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX sent me a letter a couple weeks ago stating that they have either bought or are representing a company for debt collection purposes. I have yet to see proof that they are representing still but that's not my biggest issue. I sent them an electronic notice on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute and told them to ONLY keep communications to physical mail and email, that would make all other communication forms off limits. They then proceeded to attempt to call me on XX/XX/XXXX while I was working which I decided may have been a one and done breach of rights. However, they then decided to attempt calling me again while I was working today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) at which point I decided to file this formal complaint towards you, XXXX XXXX XXXX. My communication rights have been violated. I sent another dispute request in today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) as well which will hopefully be honored as it once again specifies which forms of communication are appropiate.
