Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Problem with personal statement of dispute
Consumer Complaint: i have appealed my credit report to the credit report agencies for numbers of despute. Bi law credit collectors must notify me bi either phone or bi telephone and assumption of notification does not validate contact. yet after providing portfolio recovery with a court document stating that at the time of purchase the letter they mailed to the po box one of the addresses in my credit report i no longer had access to the box as i was in XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX as shown on the court disposition i provided. Also to further validate that communacation was not made there is a XXXX XXXX on my credit report that showed i was in XXXX on XXXX XXXX. XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX sentenced on XX/XX/XXXX no communication was mad to any XXXX XXXX and that is not my responsibility it was the responsibility of the debt collector as they assume all responsibily. this one reason of violation of consumer rights they also violated consumer rights as i recquested every sigle detail on my debt as payments contract as i never have entered into debt with portfolio recovery so i am entitled bi law to review for inspection every single detail of that debt includint and not limit to binding contract and payment history and amount the only thing fowarded bi portfolio recovery was a piece of paper with my name a few dates and a letter stateing they purchased the debt in a time i was XXXX and the address is not where i lived. these three violation of consumer law must be addressed between them and the credit borreaus as they are illegally reporting on my credit when they have no legal claim and are causing me hardship

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I sent out two letters to Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC in regards to two collection notices that I have received from them about debts they want me to pay them for, claiming I owe. The letters I sent out was asking for validity that the debt is mine. I asked for the original contract with who I signed with, original creditor information, payment history of the account, proof of ownership of this debt, and proof that their company has a license to collect debts in the state of California. They sent me credit card statements from XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. No other information in regards to the letter I sent asking for validity of these debts being mine or if they are licensed to collect debts in my state. I don't know if this is a real company or not. I might be getting scammed by whoever this is claiming to a debt collector.

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: I have two issues with Portfolio Recovery : 1. When their collectors call my number and ask for me, I confirm and verify that they are speaking with me. However, before giving me a mini-miranda they refuse to discuss the matter they are calling about until I " verify '' further information such as my address, date of birth and social. When I challenge them, they tell me this is required to verify they are speaking to the right person. I remind them that they called my number, asked for me, and I have affirmed they have the right person. That shoud be enough verification to continue with business. Forcing me to give private and sensitive information to continue the call is harassment and a violation of the FDCPA especially prior to any mini-miranda. 2. I have repeatedly disputed the debts in their office with the credit bureaus and with Portfolio recovery. They are unable to prove that I am legally responsible for any of these debts. They just reply with a form letter and a few statements. Nothing that proves I am contractually liable for this debt. I intend to file and FCRA and FDCPA suit against them in my local courts at my earliest conveince.

Consumer Complaint: Repeated ongoing phone call all day and night. I paid the amount, {$360.00} to Portfolio Recovery, however the calls and letters did not stop. As a matter of fact I was harassed for not paying this debt that not only paid once but I paid it TWICE and still they insisted they did not receive payment. This satisfied debt is still being reported improperly and incorrectly on my credit report and negatively impacting my credit score and worthiness
