Issue: Fees or interest

Subissue: Problem with fees

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I called PNC bank credit card services to have PNC remove a late charge. My credit card payment is always due on the XXXX of every month and I paid {$100.00} on XXXX XXXX to PNC through my financial institution online bill pay. PNC decided to post my payment on the XXXX, which cause a late fee of {$25.00}. PNC refused to remove the late charge because of a removal of a previous late charge in XXXX of XXXX. I escalated the issue to PNC escalation team because the supervisor from XXXX XXXX XXXX refused to remove it. XXXX advised me to send a letter about my issue and stated the late fee is valid even though I explained my bank took my {$100.00} on XXXX XXXX, but PNC decided to post my payment on the XXXX. I do not make late payments constantly and I did make my payment before the due date, yet PNC is refusing to remove a late charge that is not valid. This was the worst customer service experience and I have been with PNC for over 10 years.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Subissue: Problem with paying off the loan

Consumer Complaint: I traded in a vehicle to the dealership on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX so the co-signer on vehicle could obtain a vehicle in his name alone. I was not purchasing another vehicle at the dealership. I was told that the dealership would pay off the full amount owed to PNC bank within 14 days. I followed up with PNC bank on receipt of payoff. The vehicle was paid off in full on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I received documentation that the account was closed on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX from a local PNC branch. I also received a letter dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX from the bank that the loan was paid off and they even refunded {$14.00} of a over payment. The account was updated on my credit report as paid off. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I became aware that the account was reopened. I was told by the bank that they " reversed '' my account on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. The bank stated that the dealership told them it was paid off in error and they mailed a check back to the dealership. The vehicle was not paid off in error and I have a signed agreement with the dealership that they took ownership of the vehicle and it would be paid off in full. I have talked to XXXX different people at the bank who could not give me any answers as to why, 2 months after my loan was closed, the dealership was able to do this. They could not give me answers on how it was possible for someone else to reopen my paid off loan and who at the bank allowed this to occur. The account is still open while they investigate and they have not allowed me to report the account to their fraud department.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Cashing a check

Consumer Complaint: I was contacted on a freelancer site called XXXX saying that I was going to be an editor for the website www.gainsight.com. The person who did this contacted me from the number XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. He claimed his name was XXXX XXXX. He told me to contact his Hiring Director XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) via XXXX XXXX for the interview and job briefing. I then contacted her and went through with the interview, was hired, and told I would be paid a rate of $ XXXX/hr. I was then told I would be emailed a check for {$1200.00} and that I was to mobile deposit it and send her a screenshot of the confirmation. This money was supposed to be for my materials to start working : software, work time tracker, etc. I did that. When the money was in my account ( XX/XX/XXXX ) she had me to make a XXXX XXXX account and send {$800.00} which added up to {$870.00} by the end to XXXX XXXX. XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX, TX XXXX. I sent them that ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and apparently the money was picked up by said person. A day later ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I was told to go to XXXX and buy three gift cards in {$100.00} increments for them. They stole my codes and redeemed them. After XXXX tells me that they are waiting to ship my items I do not hear from her. Which was fine because she said she would talk to me tomorrow ( XX/XX/XXXX ). Around XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX I receive an email saying that my account was overdrawn by {$1100.00} ... the amount given by a bounced check plus about {$14.00} I had in the account. I went to go to tell XXXX about this but am blocked on XXXX XXXX. I tried calling XXXX XXXX ; he is using a texting service so no call could be made to him. I called XXXX XXXX and tried to get my money back but could not. They filed a case for me which was case number:XXXX. I do not have a way to pay overdrafts or the fees and need my money back. I called XXXX XXXX and filed a claim with them. I filed a claim with XXXX who put a hold on the gift cards. I filed a claim with my local law enforcement. I filed a claim with my bank ( PNC ). I filed a claim with ic3.gov ( FBI ) The bank is telling me that I am responsible for repaying this in 14 business days. I was the subject of fraud and I am held responsible for the money. I do not have that money and find that I deserve to be repaid this money and not be at fault for something I did not do intentionally. I was not aware that this check would bounce. Therefore, I should not be liable for this

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: PNC ( subordinate lien ) is countering the short sale to receive a full pay off based on exterior only value of the property. They are going off of a drive-by BPO value ( {$430000.00} ) which can back completely out of range of true fair market value. It is common knowledge that a drive-by BPO does not property asses the property value because interior defects are not taken into consideration. The first lien is being paid off in full and we are offering PNC a handsome net of {$70000.00} which they are denying because they are refusing to order an interior BPO to get true property value. Even with supporting documentation to support our offer amount of {$33000.00}.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2017, I sent a withdrawal slip for {$100.00} dollars to my PNC Bank in XXXX Pennsylvania, to have a cashiers check sent to me, which I have been doing for over twenty years. The PNC Banking XXXX sent me a letter stating that I can no longer have direct access to my account. I will need to give a agent of representative a Power of Attorney to access my account and then give me the monies I need. It seem that due to my incarceration that the Bank has started to discriminate against me.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I have attempted to apply for a short sale and was advised by PNC ( The Servicer ) that the file has been reviewed too many times during this delinquency cycle. That my only options are to bring my account current or sell property outright to cover everything owed to the bank. That once I bring my account current that I can then file for a short sale. If I could bring the account current, I would keep the home. Is n't the whole point of a short sale is to allow the home owner to leave gracefully from the property when we can not afford to keep the home and to avoid foreclosure?? My loan is owned by XXXX XXXX and per FHLMC I am allowed to be reviewed for a short sale - and possibly even a streamline short sale.
