Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: I own a business that sells a product online. I use PNC Bank Merchant services. They charge me a lot of fees to process my transactions. I found a different company that offers lower fees. Turns out I ca n't switch without paying an early termination fee. I did not know there was a fee for early termination when I signed up. Second, online transactions require what is called a " gateway ''. PNC forces me to use a gateway called Payeasy. If I do n't use Payeasy. I have to pay an exorbitant fee for every transaction that is processed. Turns out Payeasy is owned by PNC. I should be able to shop for a gateway without being penalized by PNC. They would be charging me a fee and I would be receiving nothing in return. They want to penalize me for not using their gateway company. that is not right. If this were a real estate transaction, it would be a clear violation of RESPA. I do n't think it is fair that I have to pay an early termination fee and I definetly don think it is right to charge me for using a gateway other that Payeasy. I should be able to choose who I want without penalty.

Consumer Complaint: We recently sold our home which started out as XXXX XXXX XXXX, now PNC. We received a refund check for pmi insurance for {$560.00}, but could n't cash it because it was in the banks name. Several phone calls they explained that was a bulk check and we were getting {$6.00} back from that. I have the original documents signed when I bought the house, and it shows for PMI insurance my maturity date is XX/XX/2017. That probably was correct except I opted to do the twice a month payment when I got the loan. Because of that I was at 53 % at closing. Well below the 78 %. I know what it shows by what I signed, but the numbers do n't lie. 53 % is 53 %. PNC is standing by what is signed not actual numbers. I also would like to know what PNC rule is for flood insurance, they have had me pay for a total rebuild, not for the loan amount like other banks? I have been in contact with XXXX XXXX XXXX

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: I currently work at a XXXX XXXX than the one I bank at. I have decided to change everything over to this new account and change everything out. I thought I had everything coming out of my new account, but three of the people pulled it out of the old account. I did n't want to close out the old account incase something were to come through I wanted to make sure things were taken care of. Only XX/17 a withdrawl of XXXX came out from the XXXX XXXX that was not suppose to. I figured I would take care of that and the overdraft asap. When I checked the account I was noticed a few fees on the account. When I called the XXXX, OH branch of PNC I was told that they charge XXXX dollars for one day, XXXX for two and XXXX for 3 up to 14 days. He informed me that I was almost at the 14 days when this took place. This has resulted in XXXX dollars worth of fees. I was told that they would see when they could do so that I could close out the account, but that I would just have to check the account. I have since has 2 more things come through, both of which were suppose to come out of my new account that has given me yet another overdraft fee. I am okay to pay the things that have come out and take care of what I need to, but it is my understanding that it is against CFPB regulations to charge an already overdrawn customer fees per day for being overdrawn. I would relly like to get this taken care of.

Consumer Complaint: This is another complaint regarding abusive fee practices by PNC Bank. I have been told them not to push thru payments when there is no enough money in the account. PNC keep doing it. They did it again on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I got an overdraft fee for {$36.00}. My paycheck is still not clear in the account, although it was supposed to show on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. PNC is holding the payment transfer so they can charge fees again. I am concerned that with the new direction of the CFPB, consumers are going to be screwed again like we were before the agency was created. I would like the overdraft fees ( I had another overdraft that needs to be reversed from XXXX ) reversed. They are already charging a maintenance fee of {$15.00} every month, which I found abusive. I want these matters resolved, fees reversed. Sincerely,

Consumer Complaint: For 3 months, I 've been in contact with PNC Bank in attempt to revised my mortgage payment that will increase early next year. Throughout this process, PNC Bank has repeatedly push me towards a Short Sale option on home I own since XXXX as their ONLY solution to the fact I 'm a XXXX American living strictly on XXXX XXXX. It should be known, that I never been late on any PNC Mortgage payments in 10 years & I 'm current on my Property Taxes & Home Insurance. So why is PNC XXXX bent to force me out my home & will not work with me to lower my home payment that will increase in 2 months?

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: I recently purchased a new vehicle through a dealership at which point the vehicle was financed through PNC via the dealership. Provided to me at the time of vehicle purchase was the method, per PNC, to set up automatic draft. Since all of my other bills are automated I opted to go this route. Per their instruction I provided the account information along with a payment in the form of a check. A few months later PNC calls me saying my payment is late and they are going to assess late fees, however to stay current I make payment over the phone ASAP. When inquiring as to the status of my autodraft the representative informed me they had no information on file. I requested the form to be mailed to me again so I could resubmit. I never received and again received calls from PNC that payment was overdue so I immediately made payments. I made multiple requests to receive information via email since I frequently spend weeks/months at a time out of town for work but my requests were denied as that is not a capability of PNC at this time. I could not even set up an online banking account without a pin that had to be mailed to me, which I would not receive for weeks/months because of my travels. Again I request autodraft paperwork and upon receipt I resubmit the paperwork for autodraft with a payment in the form of a check to keep me current. I received no correspondence of any sort so I was led to believe that they actually processed the autodraft and everything was working as planned. Approximately 2 months later I receive a letter in the mail proclaiming my account was 90 days past due and they were going to repossess the car. I immediately called and made payment. Within 48 of making payment I find my credit has been hit for a late payment when all of the while I was under the impression I was on automatic draft. After further communication and investigation with PNC they claimed that by the time they went to process the autodraft paperwork my account was past due. This seemed odd to me since I included a payment with the paperwork. However, since it took over a month for them to process the autodraft by the time they did get to process my account was past due so they simply threw away the paperwork and never informed me ( happened twice ) that they were throwing it away and not setting up the autodraft as I was expecting. All in all this has been an overwhelmingly frustrating experience due to their lack of care and inibility to work with me. On top of this, their archaic methods of business and communications seem to me that they are basically setting a trap for unsuspecting consumers accustomed to efficient banking practices ( ie practices done instantly online, communication via email/text, etc ... ) in the attempt to profit. On top of all of this, there may be considerable monetary stakes for me in this matter. A month prior to this credit hit I put {$47000.00} down a house that will shortly be under construction. Due to this scenario, my credit score has taken a substantial hit and I may not be able to get financing upon closing, at which point I would forfeit my down payment. If I am able to secure financing at my much lower credit score, it is safe to assume the increased interest rates and rising cost of PMI will, over thirty years, cost in the hundreds of thousands. My credit report clearly indicates I have NEVER missed a payment and would have never missed this payment if PNC had followed their own protocols, which in and of themselves do not belong in the 21st century. They made no attempts to communicate with me and no attempts to rectify the known issues I was having and clearly took advantage of me as a consumer. I am seeking advice on how to best approach this situation and get the hits on my credit score removed if at all possible. I truly do not believe I was at fault as I tried to set up automatic withdrawals on multiple occasions and was never made aware they did not set it up. Any and all help in this matter is beyond greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Consumer Complaint: Today XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I awaken to check my PNC Bank account to find it was overdrawn with an overdraft fee dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX of {$36.00}. I transferred funds into my account utilizing XXXX ( a bank transfer system that allows you to transfer cash ). When I contacted customer service I was informed my account was overdrawn on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX but I made numerous deposits since the XXXX therefore it does n't justify a fee added to my account 2 days later with a post date of 4 days later. PNC has unethical banking practices, there is no reason a person accounts becomes overdrawn and they are n't provided an opportunity to bring the account current within a reasonable timeframe. I never received an alert from PNC regarding any overdraft and I have proof the electronic transfer was made within the appropriate time. While on the phone with the customer service representative my account went from being negative XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX as the rep stated to the XXXX not being on the account in total. I would like a full investigation of my account as I believe PNC is not only conducting unethical banking practices but they are also conducting fraudulent banking practices, that allows customer service representative to make changes on customers account.
