Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Credit denial
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I, XXXX XXXX a federally protected consumer was violated by NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. On XX/XX/2022 I applied for an {$82000.00} auto loan but instead of being approved I was given the choice of a counteroffer of my initial request in the amount of {$60000.00} or I would have to add another navy federal member to my loan application to get approved for the {$82000.00} because of my income ; I denied the offer and explained to the loan manager that taking adverse action with my credit extension application was a violation of The Equal Credit Opportunity Act [ 15 USC 1691 ( c ) ] because I am not in any credit assistance programs authorized by law or administered by a nonprofit organization nor am I an economically disadvantaged person. No where in the Equal Credit Opportunity act does it states that a consumer can be denied for income. The loan manager was not familiar with The Equal Credit Opportunity Act so he did not know what I was referring to when I stated these laws. I sent out a Violation of The Equal Credit Opportunity Act letter to Navy Federal Credit Union on XX/XX/2022 awaiting response.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, 2020, I was told by XXXX XXXX and a XXXX XXXX XXXX that the bank was no longer taking my calls. I tried to explain that on a recent mobile banking call, the bank teller refused to use my secret password that was set up. Instead, she insisted on hampering me for my social security number. When I explained I had this password set up, she hung up the phone on me. I quickly called the branch= XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX report this. No assistance was offered. Instead, I was only greeted with the rudeness & punitive behavior. Please, assist as I'm sure there are others whom affirm that bank issues passwords to protect you they should thereby use them= not abuse them and punish the customer. As a result, the bank has not allowed me to call or enter the bank for assistance. Is this fair?
