Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: I sent Letter to LexisNexis on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and finally on XX/XX/XXXX. I also sent letters to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I asked these four agencies how they were verifying a bankruptcy that is showing up on my credit report. I asked for them to also send proof of the verification. On the first letter they responded that they verify through XXXX. I then acquired a letter from the court and XXXX where they state that they do not verify information with credit reporting agencies. i sent these letters off and again asked for proof of verification. XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX just report that is was verified, but did not send how, and LexisNexis has never responded since my last letter in XXXX. I have attached the letter I have sent to LexisNexis and the credit bureaus below : XXXX XXXX [ XXXX XXXX ] XXXX XXXX ( 0 minutes ago ) to XXXX Report Reference Number : XXXX ATTN : FACT Act Dispute Request I am challenging the validity of this alleged bankruptcy you have listed on my reports. I recently challenged this account with the credit bureaus, who said they verified it with Lexis Nexis. When I previously disputed with LexisNexis I was told you verified this alleged bankruptcy with XXXX. I have attached an email from them and the courthouse stating they do not verify or have communication with ANY credit reporting agencies. I DEMAND that this unverified, per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, must be deleted from my file immediately especially since you lied about verifying this account through XXXX. You violate my consumer rights by continuing to report such information, and legal action will be taken. Once the above information is deleted from my file, please notify me by mail or email. I have attached my driver 's license to verify my identity. To avoid confusion, my information is as follows : Full Name : XXXX XXXX Last 4 of SSN : XXXX XXXX XXXX LETTER : I am writing to dispute information regarding a bankruptcy on my credit report. On XXXX XXXX, I previously disputed XXXX XXXX bankruptcy XXXX with you, and in response, you verified the item as accurate, stating that you had verified the information with the court. However, I recently contacted the court and XXXX and received the responses that are enclosed with this letter. As you can see, the court and XXXX do not report to you, or any credit bureau, which means that your original response verifying the item with the court was either an error or a lie. The reporting of this record does not comply with FCRA 611 ( 15 U.S.C. 1681I ). Therefore, you must immediately delete this unverified record from my credit report. Your non-compliance with my request will also be construed as an absolute disregard of my consumer rights and your implied agreement to compensate me for court costs and attorney fees if I am forced to bring this matter before a judge. I am sending this letter on my behalf, and I've included a copy of my ID to verify my identity. Best Regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have been requesting from LEXIS NEXIS a copy of my Consumer Disclosure Report, to NO avail, whatsoever. I have attempted to obtain it via regular mail and certified letter with confirmation, return receipt. However, I have never obtained the report, despite incurring costs to make copies, pay for postage, travel to and from the United States Postal Service Station. Not only that, when my letters failed to generate a response from the company ; I even phoned them, only for them to request the same identification that I'd sent along with my mailed letters. Thus, I complied with the request that I was given via phone only to not even receive any report to download ( as I was told that I would be supplied with a copy for download ), once my information was " verified. '' And that I could call back in 45 minutes after uploading the documents to be given a code to obtain the download. Well, once I called back, I was told my email with the credentials to download the report would be forthcoming. However, that did not happen. I am seeking help to finally be able to obtain my Consumer Disclosure Report from Lexis Nexis. ***** PLEASE SEE ATTACHED COMMUNICATION from XX/XX/2023 ***** confirming that they received my " Communication '' which was my uploaded Texas DL and Social Security card, again ( which was what they requested during my phone call ) and instructed me to follow the directions in the email. This was my 3RD ATTEMPT, in 2 years trying to obtain my Consumer Disclosure Report from Lexis Nexis.
