Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Information belongs to someone else

Consumer Complaint: Over the past two years my financial and personal life have been disrupted and my credit standing continues to be threatened by two financial institutions who are wrongfully withholding information from me in violation of the FCRA. In XXXX, a CD I had with XXXX XXXX matured. When I attempted to transfer the proceeds, my account was frozen on the grounds that I was deceased. For more than two months XXXX ignored proof to the contrary -- long established passwords, copy of drivers license, current utility bill, their own 1099s and monthly mailed records from many years -- and ignored as well my repeated requests to identify the " public record '' they claimed as the basis for their action. Finally, with the help of the CFPB, I was able to get my money and the case was closed. But XXXX very pointedly would not respond to my multiple requests for the name of the " public record '' that took them so long to discover " incorrect. I gave up asking and put the episode behind me.. ... XXXX XXXX of this year, when once again I was " deceased. This time it was a payout from an insurance company that was held up. However, this firm investigated and told me their source for the falsehood : LexisNexis Risk Solutions. LexisNexis Risk Solutions advertises its ability to supply information on individual consumers to clients in the financial field but their 60+ page file about me turned out to be a grossly negligent compilation that, for the most part had nothing to do with me. It mixed my records with those of another person with whom I share nothing other than a first and last name, irresponsibly failing to match middle names or initials, birth dates, social security numbers, addresses, telephone numbers. Additionally they pronounced me deceased while ignoring the discrepancies between the alleged date of my death ( XXXX! ) and ongoing activities such as voting and drivers license renewals from before and after XXXX. I called this mixture to their attention XX/XX/XXXX and finally, in XXXX, my file was updated to identify me without the deceased designation. At the same time, despite saying many times that they would comply with FCRA rules to provide me with the all-important full and complete details of the required reinvestigation, LexisNexis Risk Solutions has still not told me ( 1 ) where and when they got their destructive misinformation about my " death '', ( 2 ) how they verified it and ( 3 ) to whom they distributed it. Moreover, although I have repeatedly pointed out that they have mixed and merged someone else 's files with mine, they have yet to delete the multiple records that have nothing to do with me. And instead of answers to my questions, the first week in XXXX I received a further surprise : I remain " deceased '' in the records of an affiliate of theirs named Accurint. How this will affect me I have no idea as yet. LN 's accompanying letter ( dated XXXX XXXX, received XXXX XXXX ) was equally curious. It seems designed to smudge the line between their various companies responsibilities to leave the impression that LexisNexis Risk Solutions, like Accurint, is not required to do ANYTHING. ( See attached. ). That strikes me as nothing short of incredible. Without full and complete details from these institutions I have no way to stop such financially and physically injurious situations from happening again and again. Nor do I have any way to know if there has been damage in the past that I havent yet learned of. I am also disturbed that, as I am in my XXXX, when I do die this will complicate the settlement of whatever financial accounts I leave behind. So far Ive lost approximately {$270.00} ( interest lost in the XXXX fiasco ) and forced to waste an immense amount of my time on repetitive and questionable forms, messages and telephone calls. Altogether it has been a hugely stressful period, at times paralyzing just trying to understand what was happening. See a lawyer is useless advice : Im too rich for free legal aid and too poor to hire an attorney. Since learning about the existence of LexisNexis Risk Solutions I am wholly convinced that XXXX never saw ANY public record, instead PAID a very non- public source for a report, read nothing beyond the deceased designation on its first page and acted both wrongly and precipitously. XXXX of course absolves itself of any use a recipient makes of reports it furnishes. Be that as it may be, the bottom line is that there is still no end in sight for me or multitudes of other consumers sure to wind up in the same sinkhole as, like it or not, our lives become totally digital dependent. Once garbage gets in, it wont get out as long as institutions have little incentive to fully and openly respond to consumers. They correctly calculate that, for them, there is little risk in stonewalling and ignoring us. Until there is meaningful enforcement action by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, there is no consumer protection.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Public record information inaccurate

Consumer Complaint: I looked at my credit report and i seen all the credit bureaus reporting a bankruptcy on my credit profile. Lexisnexis is reporting the Bankruptcy as of XX/XX/2017 on my profile. They reported negative and defaming information beginning XX/XX/2017 on my credit report. I sent a debt validation to no avail. They never supplied sufficient information to me in order to validate the debt. I do not agree with their actions. The courts do not report bankruptcy so why are you furnishing this information to hurt my credit score. I have challenged the accuracy and integrity of the information. 12 cfr 1022.41 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 ) state that data furnishers Reflects the terms of and liability for the account or other relationship ; Reflects the consumer 's performance and other conduct with respect to the account or other relationship ; and Identifies the appropriate consumer. 12CFR 1022.41 ( d ) ( 1 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 ) ( i ) Integrity means that information that a furnisher provides to a consumer reporting agency about an account or other relationship with the consumer : Is substantiated by the furnisher 's records at the time it is furnished ; Is furnished in a form and manner that is designed to minimize the likelihood that the information may be incorrectly reflected in a consumer report ; and Includes the information in the furnisher 's possession about the account or other relationship that the Bureau has : Determined that the absence of which would likely be materially misleading in evaluating a consumer 's creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living

Issue: Improper use of your report

Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly

Consumer Complaint: CFPB I asked you to review lexisnexis documents that I received via US mail dated XX/XX/2021 from Lexisnexis, lexisnexis has acted willful and negligent and reckless and violations multiple FCRA laws regarding false credit reporting! Per the FCRA lexisnexis had 15 days to comply with the method of verification as you can see from their company letter head dated XX/XX/2021 you can see they gave a bogus explanation first of all more than 15 days past due is and will not be excepted because the law states in black in white when a consumer asked for the method of verification the credit bureaus have exactly 15 days of date received. And furthermore they did not include specific information that was requested on them. Lexisnexis needs to remove the public records from all credit reporting agencies. Please review CFPB previous documents dated XX/XX/2021 also review lexisnexis response dated XX/XX/2021. Pure violation. Also this is the first time that lexisnexis DIDNOT upload this copy via the CFPB I want to know what do they have to hide. There is clear evidence that they are violating the FCRA I suggest them to stop doing this because I have enough right now to take legal action and if its not removed I will do it plain and simple! Previous XXXX XXXX is showing inaccurate information how are you verifying inaccurate information? XXXX is a 3rd party data system that anyone can purchase to look up information. I have supplied you with proof that its reporting inaccurate. Which puts you in violation of the FCRA for false credit reporting.one more thing before I close Im not a XXXX person is this why you sent that letter dated XX/XX/XXXX. You through you could respond within 30 days but I got news for you the request under by FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 7 ). Is credit bureau must give you the method of verification information within 15 days of your request why on. Please do whats right and remove the public record. 30 days would have put you at or around XX/XX/XXXX to the XXXX is is why you sent this didnt you? Again FCRA 611 is 15 days! Thank you

Consumer Complaint: I sent Lexis Nexis a letter requesting a copy of my credit file they have of my and its been almost XXXX months and I havent received anything. I need this to dispute all alleged information they have of me. Lexis Nexis is furnishing information they have no permissible purpose to furnish. The court nor myself has given Lexis Nexis permission to take any information about me and furnish it with any credit agency. I also froze any alleged account Lexis Nexis has with me but somehow they are continuing to furnish alleged information about me and allowing other credit agencies to access this alleged information. Which is defamation of my character and identity theft.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I have contacted the credit bureau on several occasions and always get the information has been verified as accurate, but the credit bureau never sends me the information I have requested that was used to verify the accounts and personal information from public record. I filed a dispute via mail and over the phone with a specialist, however, the information still remains on my credit file. I tried to dispute some of these addresses and personal information online through the credit bureaus, but it doesn't allow me. I had to contact them by phone or mail. The XXXX accounts are associated with two addresses, that I have requested to be removed several times. I have never been associated with either of the addresses. Also, there are some XXXX XXXX accounts that I have requested to be removed as well. I have no knowledge of those accounts from that creditor. I never gave the creditor permission to access my credit file or report inaccurate information. In addition, accounts on my XXXX credit file haven't been updated accordingly. The following accounts are XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX & XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX all these accounts need to be removed from my credit. XXXX has been paid off for over 4 months and I have disputed with XXXX several times, provided the info and they still haven't updated it since XX/XX/21, but XXXX and XXXX have updated my reports accordingly. I have attached pretty much everything that needs to be done. Lastly, XXXX, I have submitted disputes for the credit INQs currently reporting to my XXXX file and they sent me a letter showing they're deleted, but they still show up on my credit file. I think my XXXX credit file was too large and split and XXXX hasn't been able to compile my file properly to retain accurate information.

Consumer Complaint: Pursuant to Fair Credit Reporting Act 1681i ( a ), the CRA that receives the dispute must conduct a reasonable reinvestigation of the dispute. The Consumer Reporting Agency also must notify the furnisher of the dispute. That is generally done electronically through an automated consumer dispute form, or XXXX. Once notified by a CRA of a consumer dispute, the furnisher of the disputed information must do its own reasonable investigation. A reasonable investigation under FCRA 1681s-2 ( b ) requires the furnisher to examine sufficient evidence to determine whether the disputed information is accurate. If a furnisher can not affirmatively verify that it has accurately reported disputed information, 1681s-2 ( b ) ( E ) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act requires the furnisher to modify, delete, or permanently block the reporting of the disputed information. Please conduct an investigation with the deed of court or clerk of court and forward me the finding or delete the public record!

Consumer Complaint: Thank you for your response. But I want to inform you as you already know that XXXX XXXX is a 3rd party vendor. That anyone including myself have access to. per the FCRA in order for a credit reporting agencies as yourself to conduct a reasonable and Maximum accuracy of an investigation you must verify the information with the original furnisher of the debt! When a bankruptcy is filed you must file that with the United state bankruptcy court if you are unable to verify it with the original furnisher the information that you reporting is unverifiable. As far as you reviewing all relevant information provided by the consumer is hideous! How can you verify anything that anyone sends to you with out verifying it? Again I have asked you for specific information regarding the XXXX XXXX from the US bankruptcy court XXXX but you keep refusing. To send me any information requested you are in violation of the FCRA for failure to conduct a proper investigation! Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: Hello To Whom It May Concern, I must admit its very frustrating to have to have large companies just refuse to fix the problem in a such a high handed way. As XXXX, And XXXX are refusing to remove the following public record from my credit report. XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy Case Number : XXXX Ive been disputing this matter since XX/XX/2021. From XXXX 2021 the companies XXXX, and XXXX has claimed the public record, XXXX XXXX bankruptcy was verified by a company named LEXISNEXIS. they mentioned I needed to conduct my own investigation., After doing my own investigation from XXXX 2021, LEXISNEXIS agreed the XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy was not verified and, According to the FCRA law, the Bankruptcy was not verified in a timely matter, and was no longer accurate. It needed to be deleted immediately by all CREDITORS REPORTING THE INACCURATE ACCOUNT. I have provided the companies XXXX, and XXXX over and over with DOCUMENTATION stating the XXXX XXXX bankruptcy is not verified by LEXISNEXIS, and needs to be deleted, Nor does the Bankruptcy Court report to Credit Bureaus. XXXX and XXXX are disregarding my documents from LexisNexis, and the bankruptcy court. As they are choosing to still report the inaccurate XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy. Although XXXX has DELETED the inaccurate information. XXXX and XXXX are causing deformation of my character as Im unable to get approved for new lines of credit and if approved for credit theres a high interest rate to pay. Ive filed complaint after complaint Im not sure what else to do. Ive been denied employment due to XXXX and XXXX continuing to report a inaccurate XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy on my credit report. The companies XXXX and XXXX needs to stop giving me and LexisNexis a hard time disputing the bankruptcy.
