Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I had sent in a complaint on XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX ) to your office regarding the erroneous information in my XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX in which the 3 bureaus are alleging that the information was obtained from the 3rd party Data Furnisher, Lexis Nexis. I also disputed the information with Lexis Nexis the Data Furnisher who sent me a letter stating that in accordance to the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 } 1681 ), Lexis Nexis filed my dispute with the 3 credit bureaus and on XXXXXX/XX/XXXX this disputed information was deleted from their records. I then reached out to the 3 credit bureaus and asked how the disputed information was verified by Lexis Nexis the 3rd party data furnisher when the information had been deleted from my file. My to have this information corrected by the 3 credit bureaus have been ignored and I have not received an updated response since. Not to mention that LexisNexis and the NCRA use their bureaucratic process to justify keeping erroneous information on my credit report. Its evident by the way that LexisNexis sent me a letter on XX/XX/XXXX with the Consumer number XXXX stating that they were unable to fully authenticate my identity and requested that I send in additional information in which I did. In addition, I received 3 letters with the same Consumer number XXXX that states that the disputed information was being removed from my files. Also note that the name in the body of the correspondence that reference CFPB Case # XXXX that I am attaching, is spelled XXXX XXXX which is not my legal name and further shows how erroneous information is being placed in my credit files and I want all traces of the XXXX XXXX deleted off my 3 credit reports with XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. This erroneous information has caused me undue hardship financially and slowing up the process of me from getting my security clearance from my employer. This has caused irreparable harm to my credit file and I am requesting that this damaging information gets deleted from my credit files immediately. I am also requesting statutory and punitive damages in the amount of {$3000.00} from all 3 of the credit bureaus XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX for a total of {$9000.00}. This credit reporting system is an unfair system, predatory and life ruining and preventing me from recovering financially from the Covid-19 pandemic. Credit inequality matters. It contributes to the wealth gap. And part of closing that gap is acknowledging and eliminating systems like erroneous reporting of credit information that, intentionally been hindering consumers from becoming financially healthy.
