Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, Chase induced me into a bait and switch scheme when it invited me to apply for a pre-approved Saphire Chase Credit card with XXXX travel points off my Chase checking account website and then declined my credit card causing my credit to go from outstanding XXXX XXXX score ( was recently XXXX????? ) to Very Good and giving me a bad credit report. On XX/XX/2022 ( XXXX XXXX PST ), it took me more than an hour and XXXX separate phone calls to speak to someone at Chase about this -- this is all designed to deter complaints in what amounts to a sinister plot on the part of Chase ( and XXXX, et al ) to reduce my credit score with the credit agencies so they can control my life accordingly. I spoke with Chase representatives : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( responsive ) They would hang up without giving me a reference number so I could report these Chase Bank actions to the Feds. The generated complaint number is XXXX It's now XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I booked a business airfare and hotel accommodation through JPMorgan Chase 's XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX as I am a Chase Freedom Unlimited cardholder. A short time after making the original booking my business trip I needed to adjust both the airfare and hotel accommodation to extend a day later than I had originally booked. I was given a confirmation via email ( attached to this complaint ) of what I requested. I called back about a week ago to confirm, which I was told at the time everything as fine and my stay was extended until XX/XX/XXXX as requested at no extra charge and that I'd be good to go. Fast-forward to today, I am on the first day of my business trip, I stopped at the front desk of the hotel to verify when I'd be checking out only to find out, to my dismay, that the booking was still for the original date of XX/XX/XXXX, not XX/XX/XXXX. I called Chase XXXX XXXX and spent no less than one hour of my time and spoke to 8 different agents, including a supervisor, who in the end told me that in order to extend as requested ( literally both two and a half weeks ago, last week and now tonight for over an hour ) that I'd have to now pay them {$200.00}.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX illegal/fraudulant wire transfers and XXXX XXXX XXXX transfers were made by scammer. We had no knowledge that money was being stolen from our checking account. Details as follows : XX/XX/XXXX wife receives a text message telling her XXXX order is confirmed and your account will be charged {$490.00}. Inform us at XXXX if you haven't made a purchase. Wife called the number and was told to download a shared screen app. She shared screen and signed into our JP MorganChase checking account so the person impersonating XXXX can put the {$490.00} dollars back into our checking account. While she did this the impersonator made the XXXX of XXXX wire transfers to XXXX Bank, XXXX XXXX for {$3500.00}. XX/XX/XXXX wife receives a follow up phone call from XXXX impersonator telling her they need to put money back in our Chase checking account. She shares screen and a second wire transfer {$6900.00} is made to XXXX Bank, XXXX. Wife gets text from XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX : Thank you for choosing XXXX. You have received a credit of {$3500.00} on your Chase checking account. Amount may reflect in a while. Regards XXXX XXXX Billing XXXX XX/XX/XXXX Wife gets repeat text from above number and person Thank you for choosing XXXX. You have received a credit of {$6900.00} on your Chase checking account. Amount may reflect in a while. XX/XX/XXXX Wife gets text to call XXXX impersonator. Final wire transfer to XXXX Bank, XXXX was made from our checking account for {$8900.00}. XX/XX/XXXX I happened to look at our checking account to pay bills and noticed these XXXX wire transfers. My wife had no idea that these impersonators were stealing money from us and making wire transfers to bank in India. I also discovered XXXX consecutive fraudulent withdrawals from our checking account through XXXX XXXX XXXX CA each for {$500.00} -total {$2000.00}. I immediately called Chase Bank to report the fraudulent activity. Chase did a 1 month investigation and concluded they are not at fault because my wife shared her screen with these impersonators. I have been a Chase customer for more than 25 years and have never made a wire transfer. Chase should have called to inform us of these wire transfers before they were made. They have taken zero responsibility for approximately {$20000.00} in illegal wire transfers out of my Chase checking account. Any suggestions on how I could recover the money?

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX of 2022. I deposited a check in the amount of {$500.00} from the XXXX XXXX. This is the second check that I have deposited into this Chase account from the XXXX XXXX. Immediately after the check clears and having to wait 14 to 21 business days, I received a notification that my account had been frozen and it Chase will be closing my account and they no longer wish to do business with me. They proceeded to close my account however never issued my check for the remaining {$500.00} it still sits within the account. I close the account and the funds are still there and all I keep getting is runaround about a verification. Im getting very frustrated please help Ive tried on many occasions to resolve this with Chase and they simply told me that they will hold it for the maximum allowed years and send it to the state comptroller when its necessary thats ridiculous. I finally received a statement from Chase and noticed it on XX/XX/XXXX. It states that Chase cut a check for the remaining {$500.00} in his holding it is this even legal

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX am, I received a text message from what I thought was Chase Bank asking about a purchase at XXXX for {$440.00}. I pressed " no '' and received a call from a woman claiming to be from Chase, asking about the same purchase. To continue working with the supposed Chase representative, I was sent a link to login and verify my account. I assume this is how the fraudster had access to make transfers and see my transaction data. I told the woman I did not make the purchase and she sent me a code to authenticate the call. The call was dropped due to poor cell service. I agreed with the woman to continue the call in a half hour, after I was in a better area for cell service. After dropping my son off at school, I received another call from the woman, who began to review my account transactions with me. We noticed an unauthorized {$100000.00} transfer from my savings to my checking account. The woman asked me to validate my account by texting them a number. I assume this was the wire transfer verification number. The woman reassured me that she was working to stop the transfer. We received a text from Chase saying the money was being transferred back to my savings account. The woman instructed me and my wife to go to our bank. We arrived at the bank ( which had not yet opened ) and were still on the phone with the woman. When the bank opened, my wife and I spoke with a bank manager, XXXX XXXX, and handed her our phone so she could verify the identity of the woman on the call. XXXX asked the woman for additional verification numbers, but the woman refused to provide them. XXXX determined that the call was not from Chase and hung up. At XXXX XXXX, my wife and I were at Chase bank complaining about the fraud. The wire had not yet gone through. We filed a fraud claim with Chase and were told that our accounts had been frozen. At XXXX XXXX, the wire went through, despite XXXX having put a hold on our online account. My wife and I went to XXXX XXXX XXXX and tried to put a hold on the fraudulent wire, but were told to file a fraud claim with Chase. We called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX department and were told they were able to put a hold on the wire. XXXX XXXX XXXX told us that the money was frozen and that we needed to work with Chase 's fraud department to get it back. We then provided XXXX with the XXXX XXXX XXXX email for fraud communication to ensure that the funds were not released. By Monday morning, however, we went into Chase and found that the funds were released. We then filed a report with the police.
