Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was sent a letter from Chase stating that they may have given me erroneous information about a 0 % apr on purchases. They stated in the letter that they will honor the rate until XX/XX/2023. When the rate didnt kick in and I was charged interest, I called them. They told me they found the letter and would refund my interest charges within 7 business days. On XX/XX/XXXX they sent me a notice saying that the XXXX was correct and they did not refund or change the interest rate. I called them and used their online portal to send them copies of their letter and now they are not responding to me. My copies were sent to them on XX/XX/XXXX and I keep getting told I will receive a response in XXXX business days. Still no response.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Chase emailed me a promotional offer for my XXXX credit card : " you can earn 10X Bonus Points at gas stations and 5X total Bonus Points on XXXX and at grocery stores for every {$1.00} you spend up to {$1500.00} in combined purchases. * '' Pictures of the email are attached. I clicked the offer to activate it but the confirmation showed another offer, which was not mentioned in the email. On XX/XX/XXXX I spent a total of {$1400.00} at XXXX gas station over two transactions. No bonus points were awarded for these purchases, just the standard 1 point per dollar. I contacted Chase through their secure message center and was told I was not eligible for the offer that was emailed to me. They asked for screenshots of the email offer, which I provided. After that, they still did not honor the offer. The last message ( received XX/XX/XXXX ) stated : " We responded to this request earlier. Because there is no further action required on the account, we will no longer respond to this specific inquiry. '' At this point, I decided filing with the Consumer Financial Protections Bureau was my only option. In my opinion, this is a bait and switch tactic by Chase.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: This issue is in regards to my Chase Bank Credit cards. I have two of them and am having the same issue with both. I have been sending in payments to Chase Bank for the past YEAR, and they have failed to properly apply my payments to the accounts to settle the balance and are knowingly and negligently ignoring my payments while wrongfully reporting to the credit reporting agencies of high balances that should not be since I have submitted payments in full via the payment coupons ( bill of exchange ), that they LIE about stating that they are not a valid form of payment in USD. Each correspondence I have from them after disputing with them back and forth for several months going back and forth with Chase Bank they have always referred to their Cardmember Agreement ( CMA ). Their CMA does not supersede federal law. Furthermore, being that they have access to my social security number, they have a fiduciary obligation unto me as the trustee of these accounts, and myself as the beneficiary. However, there has been a breach of contract because they have been acting in the capacity that only I can act in as I am the one that extended MY credit to establish these accounts. I have done everything that I possibly can as far as sending letters and payments via certified mail as proof. I have sent in power of attorney forms to take ownership over the accounts and they still ignored that. Every payment that I have sent in to Chase bank has been completely ignored but they have kept every single instrument ( never once sent any of them back ), but never applied any of those payments. I am owed equal value and consideration for every single one of those payments as they are bills of exchange that can be converted into the equal dollar amount on them pursuant to the bill of exchange act. Chase Bank needs to be audited for their fraudulent and deceptive business practices and the way they deceive innocent consumers.

Consumer Complaint: I was reviewing my bank statements for the year and noticed unusually high XXXX transactions. So I started to dig and found four transactions made to an XXXX XXXX account that I did not authorize. I immediately called chase and disputed as they were not mine. They initially denied my claim because I did not include two other transactions. Ridiculous because I did not notice that there were more transactions. I then tried to re-open the claim by submitting all my payments made to my XXXX XXXX XXXX card. Unfortunately, they denied it once again. I had to do the investigation myself. I called XXXX XXXX and gave them the transaction dates/reference numbers/ amounts. XXXX XXXX confirmed that another person had my account number on their amex and was using it. Simple fraud, another person used my bank account to pay their XXXX, but my bank does not want to cover it. My bank is CHASE These are the transactions in question XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX {$4800.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX {$8000.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX {$7300.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, a payment was processed for {$3200.00} on our XXXX XXXX Account. This was far more than we anticipated as we thought the account was set for minimum and not interest saving. As soon as we noticed the issue, we contacted XXXX and informed the account was notated of our intent and a refund would be initiated. We were given no other information or informed that payment would be attempted again. We saw funds return to our account on the XXXX and assumed everything was resolved. However, we awoke today to see that the charge was attempted again leaving us with only {$150.00} in our account. In reaching out to XXXX XXXX we learned that there was no refund but that money returned to our account as it was overdrawn by the charge and that it automatically triggers another attempt. We were told that we should have reached out to our bank but we were not made aware of any additional attempts until this time. We asked if they could stop the transaction or expedite a refund to give us funds to support our household. We were told that they could not. Rather we were advised we could use our remaining line of credit until it was processed but when pressed, they would not waive interest or other fees, effectively enriching themselves off the issue.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Delay in processing application
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I applied for an XXXX credit card through Chase Bank because XXXX had advertised a {$60.00} credit on approval. So I created an account with XXXX and applied for the card online about XX/XX/2022. XX/XX/2022 I received an email from Chase asking for proof of address, which I promptly submitted that day with a scanned copy of my Drivers license ; " Please respond within 30 days of XX/XX/2022 about reference number XXXX. '' Chase had promised to reply within 30 days. I have an excellent credit rating and have never been denied credit. Not having received any further communication from Chase, last week I called the number on the email from Chase ( XXXX ) to follow up. I was transferred from XXXX to XXXX and finally to XXXX in the Fraud Department. XXXX confirmed receipt of the drivers license and said it looked fine, but told me that someone had flagged it as inadequate. XXXX said he'd place a notation that it looked fine to him, but suggested I resend it along with additional documents through the local Chase branch, which I did on Friday ( Drivers license, passport, XXXX XXXX XXXX all showing the address I submitted on the application ). XXXX said I should get a reply in 3 days, but, again, I did not. Today I called twice and twice was told that my application was no longer active in the the Chase system. Both calls were disconnected by Chase mid-conversation. The second call was with XXXX at XXXX at XXXX XXXX who told me that the application could not be reopened. I believe this could be a scheme by XXXX to get people to open an account with the lure of the {$60.00} credit promise. Or perhaps Chase is reneging on the {$60.00} credit as they now offer only a {$50.00} credit.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I requested a XXXX distribution through XXXX. XXXX sent me a check for {$4700.00} from their entity, XXXX XXXX XXXX. I deposited this check via mobile deposit to my Chase Savings Account on XX/XX/2023. The check cleared on Chase 's end but then they flagged my account for fraud, stating that they needed to verify the check from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX and asked for the number that Chase could call to verify the check. I parlayed that information to Chase but Chase states that the number provided is not registered in their system as an approved number to call and therefore will not call to verify the check. Chase is state that they are unable to verify the check and have frozen my account, locking me out of both my Checking and Savings account with a total {$9700.00}. XXXX is stating that they are not able to revoke the check as the check has already cleared on Chase 's side but Chase refuses to verify the check and thus is threatening to liquidate and close my account within 7 business days. I have read that though I will get my funds back via a check from their treasury 30 days after my account is liquidated, the funds currently being disputed will be withheld indefinitely.
