Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: First and foremost I am the consumer. A natural person, allegedly obligated to pay a debt according to 15 USC 1692a ( 3 ). Account # XXXX and Account # XXXX are showing on my consumer credit reports as a charge-off. It is illegal to furnish income on a consumer report. A charge-off, according to the IRS, is income and you must file a 1099-C. As it stands, I have not received a copy of this form. Remove this information from my consumer reports immediately. My rights as a consumer are protected under Title 15 Chapter 41. 15 USC 1601 highlights the consumer 's informed use of credit. At this time this alleged consumer credit transaction was entered on XX/XX/2023. I was uninformed and I did not understand as the information was not clear and conspicuous. The agreement is null and void due to your Company lack of disclosure and your unfair, deceptive, and misleading practices. What I am demanding right now is that you guys delete both Account # XXXX and Account # XXXX off my report. I can give you the CFPB report number. If this does not get deleted immediately, I will be seeking statutory damages since you willfully violated the obligations under the FCRA and FDCPA.

Issue: Fraud or scam

Consumer Complaint: I was the victim of wire transfer fraud on XX/XX/2023 in the amounts of {$5000.00} to XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX and a within-bank wire transfer to XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$2500.00}. I was reached out to via telephone call by an alleged Chase Representative by the name of " XXXX [ Last name Unknown, starting with XXXX ] from the Chase service number indicated on the back of the card XXXX. This individual discussed the fraudulent charges with me and created a claim for reversal during the call, allegedly. " XXXX '' confirmed my identity of myself and ensured that was calling from Chase by triggering secure messages within the Chase online banking application such that a pop-up from within the application for online banking came up prompting a Yes or No response to the question " are you on the phone currently with our representative? '' ( this may not be the exact wording but to this effect ) before I could continue to see information within my account. This triggers clearance for ongoing internal affairs at Chase Bank, such that the representative could file the claim. The representative created the claim and scheduled a call back for the following day, XX/XX/2023 at XXXX PST or XXXX EST. Upon not receiving this phone call follow-up, I called Chase Bank back to which I was told that they had no records of the call. They stated they filed a claim at this point, sent an expedited debit card, locked my online banking, and sent out a forgery packet. They refused to give me any details about what happens next, timings, expectations, or any details. I find this frustrating especially given the fact that one of the transfers was made to another Chase account, meaning they may likely be able to review the details of the transaction. On XX/XX/2023 I filed a police report and again visited a branch location wherein I was told that my claim was denied given that I 'authorized " the transfer. This is untrue and upon telling the branch manager this information, I was told there is no appeal process or further investigation that may take place. She indicated that a " wire recall ' was enacted and she 'escalated " the case. She called the claims dept with me present and received the same little to no information that I had received and told me to call the claims dept again. I went into the branch again today and again received little to no information ; the same information as last week. I believe there is social engineering at play and someone within Chase Bank is working with a Fraudster to obtain funds, among other personal theories given the sheer amount of information they would've needed to obtain for these transactions to take place. I have made XXXX and the local XXXX XXXX XXXX Police report. The funds that were stolen from me were funds from my XXXX student loan remainder following paying tuition and are the only finances that I currently have to live on ; I now hold less than {$5.00} in that bank account with Chase Bank doing nothing to inform or assist me.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals

Consumer Complaint: I received checks for XXXX XXXX XXXX House account in XX/XX/XXXX and I wrote one check with my name as the recipient of the cash, One check was for {$4800.00} and the other was for {$5000.00} and they were both deposited at Chase bank where I have a checking account. I deposited them on XX/XX/XXXX and at the time they sent me a message that there was a 11 day hold on them. On XX/XX/XXXX, I observed that the {$9800.00} was accessible and I went to withdraw the {$5000.00} and requested {$1000.00} and {$500.00} bills and I was told by the teller they only have {$100.00} bills. XXXX-The next day I returned to the same branch in XXXX XXXX, CA., to withdraw the {$4800.00} and the teller was not handling the request as it was the day before and said he was over his balance and kept my California I.D., and told me to have a seat and I asked him if something was wrong? He said the supervisor would talk to me. As I sat there wondering what Chase bank was up to and I waited about 15-20 minutes and finally an African-American woman came out to me and asked to sit in a cubicle and she sat down in faced me. Her name was XXXX XXXX and she told me that the checks were no good and the bank is asking for the money back. And I knew she was lying and she also said that my account my restricted and frozen. It was my payday on my job and I had no access to my work check and I insisted that the checks were good and she began to ask how long I had known him and what did I do with the money? I chose not to answer her questions and I asked did they call the bank and I asked her again why my did they hold my funds? And she again said because I owe them {$5000.00}! And the number they were calling had his name on it and I told her that I am talking to XXXX XXXX and she said we have to call the number we have been given. I called XXXX XXXX after I left the bank and told him everything that transpired and he said there is something wrong with the bank and those funds are mine and he has not instructed his bank, XXXX to hold the checks. I went back into the bank and spoke with XXXX again and she said the only way we can release the funds is for XXXX XXXX to walk into a Chase bank 3with his I.D., to authenticate himself. I called XXXX XXXX and told him this and he said is no Chase bank where he is and he again said there is something wrong with the bank and I told him 20 years ago I bounced some checks with Chase but they were paid. Meanwhile I had to figure out how to pay my rent and have transportation money to travel to XXXX XXXX for work and return home. I had several conversations with XXXX XXXX because I suspected that my enemies past, present, and future who work, no longer worked and had been fired because I told on them for embezzlement using the Department of Treasury and my XXXX programs in XX/XX/XXXX and stole funds from checking account holders and I was the 1st victim! They were using my checking account and debit transactions to track and follow me and knew when I made large deposits. I returned to the bank on XXXX to the Chase bank in XXXX XXXX and spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX and I asked for the number she was calling and she refused and asked what kind work I did for the account holder and I told her administrative work and ordering computers. On the XXXX or XXXX of XXXX I went to Social Security Administration in XXXX to update with my new bank and decided to stop in the XXXX branch in XXXX. I spoke with XXXX XXXX to setup a payment plan for the {$5000.00} and after being on the phone in my presence he told me we just want XXXX XXXX to go into a Chase bank to authenticate this account and I called XXXX XXXX in his presence and told him the same thing. I understood XXXX XXXX 's position because he has a firm to run and I did not share this with XXXX XXXX and I left the bank. I receive my social security funds for retirement on the 3rd of the month and there was no indication that the funds had been deposited at Chase. On XX/XX/XXXX i returned to the Chase branch in XXXX XXXX because my social security check had been posted to my account. I waited and when XXXX XXXX appeared I asked her for a manager and she said that she was the manager and asked her why was my social security check deposited to my account and she said the account is frozen. She went to another cubicle and talked briefly on the phone and returned to me and asked for the {$5000.00} back and I said no and it is against law to garnish my social security check and you can not hold it! And she said oh yes we can, and all the account holder has to walk in a Chase bank to verify the account. I walked without saying anything else and have no plans to return to Chase. They are not calling the bank the checks are writing on but the Department of Treasury in XXXX, XXXX and in CA. These XXXX, jealous, lying, thieving, scheming XXXX and XXXX women and men are slandering me and there has been no scam. I have known them for over 2 years!

Issue: Fees or interest

Subissue: Unexpected increase in interest rate

Consumer Complaint: I have the chase sapphire reserve card. Or I did. I was upset yesterday on the phone and cancelled. Here is my complaint : On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to take advantage of a zero percent balance transfer for 12 months that was being promoted. I was confused by a notice I got that said it would be included in my overall balance and was afraid Id have to pay it off immediately if I continued automatics payments as I had set up to pay in full. I called to inquire before doing the transfer. My impression from that phone call was that I could turn off automatic payments and pay any balance over the {$12000.00} I was planning to transfer for the 0 percent apr for 12 months. My impression was that if I did this I would avoid additional interest and fees on other purchases. Its possible I misunderstood, but this was my impression. I did the transfer and paid the 5 % transfer fee of {$600.00}. Ive noticed several fees since then so I called yesterday to inquire. Im told that when I apply payments above the minimum amount due that it automatically goes to the lowest interest in my balance. ( My balance transfer is now down to something in the {$9000.00} range ). They say that I can not specify that I want my payment to go toward other purchases first. The only way to avoid paying interest on new purchases is to pay off my transfer first. Im not the most credit savvy but a brief search online tells me the credit CARD act of 2009 should allow me to pay higher interest first. The person I spoke to yesterday tells me that, even if they reviewed my call from XXXX before I did the transfer and they confirmed I was told by their agent that I could pay any balance above {$12000.00} and not accrue more fees for interest, it was false information from their costumer service and legally Id still have to pay off my zero percent transfer before I can apply any payments to higher interest purchases and be accountable for all interest fees Ive already accrued. This feels very deceptive at a minimum. Is it legal for them to not allow me to pay my balance toward higher interest purchases first?? Thank you.

Issue: Fraud or scam

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I became a victim of wire fraud on XX/XX/XXXX for {$6800.00} dollars and XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX. The wires were made without my authorization and I did not initiate them nor did I share my personal information with the fraudulent Chase employee who had all my information. I reported the fraud to chase as well as the XXXX and fbi as soon as I realized I was dealing with an imposter Chase representative on XX/XX/XXXX. At that time swift wire recalls were requested and initiated via chase secure messaging which I am told is the only way to communicate with Chase regarding wire fraud. On XX/XX/XXXX chase secure messaging informed that I need a hold harness or indemnity letter to get my funds from the respective banks they were fraudulently wired to. Secure message said to contact claims dept option 3, claims informed me they had no idea how to obtain hhl or indemnity letters and directed me to the chase branch. The assistant manager at the chase branch made many phone calls and could not get a straight answer regarding these letters that I was told I need to get my money back. She informed me that she is unable to assist me any further as she herself can not get a straight answer. I have tried every avenue to communicate with chase but have been met with disrespect and frustration from the lack of communication within there own department. I am filing this complaint as a last ditch effort to reclaim the funds that were fraudulently stolen from me in a bank account that I have trusted with my life savings. Chase needs to stand by there moto of a Commitment to Integrity, Fairness and Responsibility. This experience is traumatic both mentally and financially the bank has taken no responsibility showed no fairness and lacks integrity in the way that they treat customers just trying to get some answers during a financial emergency that they do not protect customers from.

In the subsequent XXXX years, every payment was made when due. In my 65 years of carrying credit cards, I have never been one day late on any card. Being very satisfied with the Chase card services, I decided to open a checking account and to expand my " footprint '' with the bank. I must say that the branch, namely XXXX XXXX was very helpful in this process and worked very diligently to try and resolve the cancellation problem below. In the period of processing the checking account papers, I attempted to use the XXXX card. To my complete embarrassment, it was rejected. I eventually called the credit card department to learn that my card was cancelled and to wait for a letter of explanation. The only thing that I was told that it had to do with some government forms that were incorrect. I immediately rushed to the branch where I had " opened '' the checking account and learned that my XXXX Chase cards were cancelled. I was told that my XXXX social insurance number is wrong as some XXXX has the same number. If this number was " wrong '' .. how and why did the bank grant me the above 3 cards? If the number was wrong, why didn't the bank contact me to rectify the situation? I NEVER had any communication from the bank related to this or any other matter. Someone finally woke up and WITHOUT any notice cancelled my cards. What type of business behavior is this? I find it very ironic that the Chase bank with all their bureaucrats, couldn't find the personnel to analyze my case and conclude that I was no risk and allow me to keep my cards. This is the same that has had numerous class action suites brought against it. I fully intend to defend my position and should the bank contest my action, I will not hesitate to contact the press, social media etc. I am definitely not concerned how this action may effect my credit rating as my XXXX years of creditworthiness overshadows this defensible action. Consumer Complaint: I have a checking account with JP Morgan Bank and made a mobile deposit on XX/XX/2023 of a check drawn from my XXXX employee XXXX account. This check is a U.S. Treasury Check in the amount of {$1600.00}. My account was and is not in the negative and is well over 30 days old. In fact, I have been a Chase bank customer for years.. However, not only was there any amount made available to me within 24 hours but there was a hold placed on this check until XX/XX/2023. According to Chase 's own policies as well as General Rules ( 229.10 ( a ) 229.10 ( c ) ) of the Federal Reserve Bank Consumer Compliance handbook and U.S. Treasury bank check can not be held. I spoke with customer service twice on XX/XX/XXXX and was referred to the fraud line and was told that the check was valid and should not be held... However, the representative stated that the hold would still be in place and funds would not be available until XX/XX/XXXX no matter what.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account

Subissue: Transaction was not authorized

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a phone call from " Chase Home Financial '' as it appeared on my caller ID. They stated that my card had been compromised in XXXX GA, and there were funds removed. They said there would be a text sent with a pin code. The caller asked for the pin code and they would reverse the funds of {$350.00} and {$150.00} spent at locations. I was at work and could not check my account, but this has happened before. I trusted that Chase would take care of it as they have in the past. Later that day, I got home and checked my account and an ACH for {$4000.00} sent to " ACH payment ''. I did NOT authorize this, so I called the number for fraud on the back of my card. They were unable to assist me because of the late hour of the day. The next morning, I went into my home bank and the manager called fraud dept and they told me they were unable to recover my funds because of the " fine line between fraud and scam '', I immediately went to my local police station and filed a report, which is active. Chase called me back and said they were looking into it further. This went on for almost 2 weeks. Finally, I got a call saying they could not help me any further. I am a small business owner and having {$4000.00} taken from me could have destroyed my life. I then filed a complaint with the Attorney General in the State of Ohio. They also referred me to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as well as the Department of the Treasure Waste and Abuse hotline. I filed with them. The OCC just sent me a letter referring me to CFPB ( you ) saying this was out of their direct jurisdiction of their office. This is theft and it is illegal. Chase is not helping me in any way and I have been a victim. I really would like to have my hard earned money back. Also, the transaction caused my mortgage payment to be returned causing other problems in my life, not to mention not having my own money back. I am unable to scan documents and send at this time, but will provide them as I have a large folder of information, documents and bank statements, police report numbers, and people I have spoken with. I appreciate your timely response and hope you are able to help me.
