Issue: Disclosure verification of debt

Subissue: Right to dispute notice not received

Consumer Complaint: A couple months ago the company listed in the attached letter sent me a collection letter. I recognized the alleged debtor but based on my records I had return all the equipment related to that account and no debt was due. Since I had not been notified of the debt before I sent a letter requesting a verification of the debt, and instead I received a collection letter asking me for payment but no validation of the debt. I have requested validation of the debt three times but I get no response. To this day they have not responded to my requests. In addition, the company is not legally authorized to collect debts in North Carolina.

Issue: Disclosure verification of debt

Subissue: Right to dispute notice not received

Consumer Complaint: I was alerted to a medical collection on my credit report under the name of XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX while attempting to secure a mortgage. The account number listed is XXXX. On the afternoon of XXXX XXXX, I contacted I.C Systems via phone ( at XXXX ). When I got someone on the phone ( a woman who refused to repeat her name after it was given once, quickly, or collector identification ) I asked for information for who the original debt was issued by ; my credit report references a medical provider in Pennsylvania, but the name of the doctor / practice is not showing on the reports. I advised the woman I had an account number - she stated that they were unable to provide any information to me on the original debt at that time. She did not take down the account number, but read back my phone number to me from caller ID and advised my number was not appearing in their system. I again asked for validation of debt and I was told it was n't available. To date, I have not received any written communication from I.C. Systems or any medical services provider concerning a debt in the amount of {$89.00}.

Issue: Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt was paid

Consumer Complaint: I went to XXXX XXXX ( aka XXXX XXXX ) in XX/XX/XXXX/ XXXX XXXX. First I went for XXXX & then I went for doctor 's visit/ XXXX. I paid for both visits in XX/XX/XXXX. I have receipts for the visit - printed & credit card tape. In XXXX XXXX I started receiving calls from a collection agency. I provided copies of the receipts from the payment as well as a copy of my bank statement with the money coming out of my account. The collection agency said they could not stop calling me until the office told them to stop calling me. I sent the receipts and a letter of complaint to the doctors office and I fired my XXXX that I had been going to for approximately XXXX years because I had recurring billing problems with them in XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX. They did not acknowledge the letter or the receipts. They did not call off the collection agency. However, I know that they did receive the letter and receipts because when I went to my new XXXX this year, instead of sending my medical records that I requested and paid $ XXXX- {$25.00} for them to send, they sent a copy of my letter of complaint and my receipts. I do not recall the specifics of the issue with the XX/XX/XXXX bill. I have been remiss about checking my credit. I think they charged an old insurance instead of a current one. However, I thought it was resolved long before my appointment in XX/XX/XXXX. Additionally it did not show up as a previous balance on my invoice for XX/XX/XXXX. How do I get them to resolve this? Note : I do not have the copies of the invoice & receipt with me. I would like to opportunity to upload them later even though they already have them. I did upload my bank statement that shows the money coming out of my account.

Issue: False statements or representation

Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount

Consumer Complaint: I owed an outstanding balance of {$120.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX for a land-line service that I no longer needed. I paid the outstanding amount of {$120.00}, based on my billing statment from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( including late fees & penalties ). I had no indication other than that XXXX XXXX XXXX accepted my payment in full. It appears that XXXX XXXX XXXX either sent this debt to XXXX different Debt Collection Agencies or this debt was sold from one debt collector to another ( I.C System Inc. phone XXXX ) and ( XXXX phone XXXX ). XXXX debt collectors are based in MN. XXXX company ( I.C. System Inc. ) submitted this information to the Credit Reporting Agencies twice, using a different account number, so it showed up twice on my credit report. Some time after, the other Debt Collection Company ( XXXX ) reported the same debt with somewhat different information, to the Credit Reporting Agencies, using yet another different account number. This resulted in this SAME debt being listed 3 times on my credit report, even though the debt had already been paided in full ( based on my billing stmt ) directly to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( confirmed pmt received {$120.00} on XXXX/XXXX/2014 ). I filed several disputes with the Credit Reporting Agencies, explaining that this debt had been paid in full directly to the original creditor and that there were multiple listings of the same debt on my credit profile. The result of the dispute was that they removed one of the OLDEST debt collection records from my credit report ( which would have removed from my credit profile soonest ) and update the remaining NEWER debt collection company record with the INACCURATE information of " settled-less than full balance. The account had already been closed. This debt was " paid-in-full, based on the last billing statement ( including late fees and penalties ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX. A debt collector should not be able to request more than the amount of the outstanding debt. My contention is that my credit profile should not be negatively affected by the mistakes of XXXX seperate debt collectors reporting different information on the same debt. Who decides which one is valid? Why was the oldest record removed and not the newest? Can XXXX debt collection company sell a debt to another, thus possibly increasing the time that the information remains on my credit profile? Because of these obvious mistakes in reporting by XXXX different debt collectors and the fact that my debt had already been paid directly to, and accecpted by, the original debt holder ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ), I contend that this erroneous and arbitrarily selected remaining debt collection record still remaining on my credit profile for XXXX should be removed immediately.

Issue: Disclosure verification of debt

Subissue: Not given enough info to verify debt

Consumer Complaint: I have asked IC System Inc to validate a collection they are reporting on my credit reports on XXXX/XXXX/16, XXXX/XXXX/16 and they have failed to provide anything that would support the fact that they are attempting to collect interest on a debt without an agreement or contract. Nor have they supplied anything other than a statement on one of the collections. I told them that I would be reporting them to you but they obviously do n't fear you because they failed to delete themselves or answer questions about the debt ( s ) that they are using to damage me financially. Its damaging my credit and it is important to me.

Issue: Communication tactics

Subissue: Used obscene/profane/abusive language

Consumer Complaint: This regards the following institutions : XXXX. IC system/ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MN, XXXX ( this was on the letter head ) 2. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX XXXX, phone XXXX I received a letter from XXXX or the other of these ( XXXX addresses were on the XXXX of the letter ) for an outstanding bill from XXXX of {$21.00}. There were 3 options, the first of which was to use their website : XXXX. I went to this website and was given the choice of giving a credit card or paying by check. I chose the first. After filling out the entire application to pay ( requiring several pages ), I was told that, instead of using this method, I 'd have to call the XXXX [ XXXX ] number. So I called. What followed was a series of attempts to get me to 1 ) buy a medalert system, 2 ) buy a {$10.00} discount card and 3 ) buy a {$100.00} dollar discount card or 4 ) buy into a 'cruise ' that would probably cost me hundreds of dollars. When I declined all of these, they automated system hung up. I went through this whole XXXX twice, just to be sure the first time was n't a fluke. t was never allowed to pay the bill, neither online nor by phone. I have n't tried the 'pay by check ' option, nor will I, because I 'm quite certain that XXXX are bogus. It 's clear to me that this is simply a scam to get people to buy these worthless products and there is no intent to help the people pay the outstanding bill. Since none of your menus above cover my situation, I chose 'communication tactics ' and ''used obscene ... ', since I have to choose something.
