Cease all collection activities, including phone calls, letters, and any other form of communication, regarding the above-mentioned accounts. XXXX. Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: I spoke with someone from the the original phone number that told me to call to make a payment to settle my collection and when I called they told me I can not do anything through them I would have to contact the law firm in which my collections went to. When I asked if thag was the case why am I constantly getting spam calls and voicemail left from you guys then and not the firm that is the one in charge of the collection if you guys are not they told me they had no answer. So I asked them to stop contacting me and to have the law firm get in touch with me or for a way to contact them. They told me I could only do it through online and I told them they need to have someone speak to me directly or I will not be making any payment on the collection especially when it is so outdated and incorrect. Due to the fact that it sounded very inconsistent and weary. My phone brings up their number as spam calls and so I did not trust who I was even speaking to and they asked for my social etc. And yet they would not give me the information as to where I am supposed to even pay a debt collection.
