Consumer Complaint: I have been a Discover Card holder since XX/XX/2007. In that last 12 years I have always made my payments on time and yet Discover has never offered me a lower interest rate. I spoke with them many times and they still say they can't lower my rate. They are charging me an outrageous rate of 24.24 %!! WHY! The Federal Prime Rate is 5.25 % which is even higher than the Federal Funds Rate of 2.25 % Why am I paying 24.24 % interest and going on to 29.9 % interest if I've never had a late payment!!! This is nothing but Predatory Lending to the extreme. I've also noticed that women have higher interest rates than men. Someone should look into that as well. I demand an explanation.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I signed up with the national debt relief to eliminate some debt. In XX/XX/XXXX, I completed my last payment. One of the creditors was Discover Bank Student Loans ( SLS ) ( hereinafter " Discover '' ) and it was the last creditor I paid off. The settlement agreement was established on XX/XX/XXXX. The balance was {$16000.00} ; settlement amount was {$9700.00} ( amount that I paid ) ; and the write-off amount was {$6400.00}. Around XXXX XXXX, I received an alert that I have negative activity on my credit report from Discover. I then got all of my credit reports and found that it showed late payments from XX/XX/XXXX up to XX/XX/XXXX with Discover. I disputed the negative activity with my credit reports and they came back as unchanged. I called the Debt Relief company to figure out what happened, since I already paid off the settlement amount. On XX/XX/XXXX, I found out that my settlement agreement was made on XX/XX/XXXX via certified verbal approval by manager XXXX XXXX at Discover. As of XX/XX/XXXX, my credit still showed as being late on payments for Discover. I called Discover and they said they still own the loan, so I gave them the information about the settlement agreement and a few days later when I called back they said my account was fixed and I had a XXXX balance. Since then, I have tried to get a paid in full letter ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX ) with no success. Every time I call they have some excuse about why I have not received it. My credit report still shows up as negative for Discover from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX and I've had my credit limit reduced on another credit card due to the reported late payments. I believe Discover has violate the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They furnished and reported old information and furnished and reported inaccurate information.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I ordered online a mattress from XXXX but decided not to buy the mattress and cancelled the purchase on the same day. I received the cancellation notice and that was the end of the transaction. I never received the credit but a charge for same amount appeared on my bill. No credit was issued from XXXX and then subsequently told by Discover that the mattress was delivered. I never signed or received any mattress or communicated with XXXX for delivery. It appears there was FRAUD. The address was different and I never engaged with anything from XXXX after the XX/XX/XXXX. The information sent to me by Discover makes no sense and they continued along the same line and declined the credit. This is FRAUD since I never engaged with anything beyond XX/XX/XXXX. I need this resolved by Discover. There information they are sending me does not belong to me. IT MAKES NO SENSE> Please resolve

Consumer Complaint: I have been dealing with an ongoing issue with Discover card for two (2) years. I called customer service again today and spoke with XXXX who advised that I had to contact the merchant to continue the process. I shared that I did not get the service nor amenities that were promised. The resort was extremely dirty and bug infested, my daughter suffered an awful XXXX XXXX and had to receive medical treatment. The resort did not have the number of resturants as advertised on their website. Discover has failed to properly investigate my claims.

Consumer Complaint: This number called me from an Arkansas area code where I live ?+XXXX (XXXX) XXXX? . They said that I was the Discover credit card holder and I’ve paid my payments on time. It was a recording and I do not have a Discover credit card. They asked me if I wanted to lower my interest to click #1. I am deathly sick of people abusing the phone by using an area code in Arkansas or in my area so that I will pick up the phone. I had got to the point where I wouldn’t answer any calls other than an area code from the state because I was always afraid my family was calling needing help. Now I cannot answer area codes in my state and if I do I’ll pay for it by having to take time out of my busy life to answer the phone. I am just sick of this and it should be against the law for any wine to get on the computer and make up a phone number and call you because sometimes when I don’t answer the phone I called the number back and it says the number is disconnected or they’ll change their phone and call me again what’s another number computer generated. I really feel this should be against the law. I know there is no discover business in Arkansas and this was a XXXX area code. Please do something about this.

Consumer Complaint: I satisfied my debt on XX/XX/XXXX. The law office that handled the collection placed a lien on my home and as of XX/XX/XXXX, the lien has not been removed. This has prevented me from obtaining title insurance and prevented me from selling my home.My county recorders office informed me that the law office had improperly completed an Acknowledgement of Satisfaction of Judgement and therefore, the lien cannot be removed.I contacted the law office on XX/XX/XXXX and informed me of the problem. They told me to have the title company send them a "demand in escrow" which they did immediately. The law office never responded to this demand. I have contacted the law office numerous times but they will not respond to any of my e-mails. I finally received a response on XX/XX/XXXX where XXXX XXXX, director of operations stated that they would re-file the proper documentation but only after their notary returns the following week but to date, nothing has been filed and the law office won't return e-mails or give me any updates. I reported the lawyer to the California State Bar for misconduct and I sent a copy of the complaint to the lawyer. I received an e-mail from the lawyer in 11 minutes stating that they intended to file the correct paperwork however, this has not been done as of this date. This is holding up the sale of my home and I have now lost the pending sale. My debt was satisfied 3 years ago and the Lawyer has the obligation to remove the lien from my property. California law requires the lien to be removed within 15 days of the debt being paid off.

Consumer Complaint: I have 2 private student loans (#XXXX & #XXXX) that are serviced by Discover Student Loans. As I did not receive my billing statement in the mail, I reached out to Discover and was informed that a system upgrade automatically changed the billing statement method of receipt (paper to paperless). Apparently, this system failure happened back in XX/XX/XXXX and impacted my XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX (and conceivably every month thereafter if not for my intervention). Discover never reached out to me. I never received any phone calls, emails or letters. Furthermore, and most disturbingly, Discover never did anything to correct their mistake. Since they knew the error, why not correct it? Instead, they continue with their dishonest behavior and allow the account to become past due and possibly worse if not for my intervention. Another deplorable and despicable example of student servicer engaging in BAU. They should be penalized to the fullest extent of the law!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I mailed Discover Card a package comprising a copy of the letter from my mobile phone carrier, and a recent copy of my ID Theft Affidavit to support my claim of ID theft. I sent the letter to both their credit reporting department and their office of consumer advocacy. They have refused to accept the package at both locations. I have a photographic copy of the return receipt status attached to both letters. For some reason I cannot attach the copy or the letter. This action is yet another in a long line of purposefully deceitful and shady actions perpetrated by Discover Financial.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Card called me to say that they had a clerical error when my resolution of debt was paid off that resulted in me owing $XXXX extra. Discover calls daily 4-5 times a day and leaves a voicemail at XXXX:XXXX every day. I've told the supervisor who I originally spoke with that I'm available around XXXX:XXXX for lunch to talk. The numbers they call me from are XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. They called me today (XX/XX/19) at XXXX:XXXX XXXX and left a voicemail, and again at XXXX:XXXX. Yesterday (XX/XX/19) I received a call at XXXX:XXXX that left a voicemail and then called again at XXXX:XXXX, XXXX:XXXX, XXXX:XXXX, and XXXX:XXXX. Additionally, I've received NO physical notification to indicate what the debt actually consists of.
