Consumer Complaint: Reported Debt Balance : {$1300.00} Reported Open Date XXXX : XX/XX/2016 Reported Open Date XXXX : Invalid Date The inaccurate/non-existent information above was recorded from my credit reports on the date of the submission of this complaint. After thorough and extensive investigative efforts, I discovered that Convergent Outsourcing is notoriously known as a repeat offender in regards to inaccurately reporting information and re-aging debts on various consumer credit reports. According to FCRA 605 ( c ), the aforementioned practice along with failing to accurately report the Date of First Delinquency ( DOFD ) with the original creditor to the credit bureaus is a dereliction of duty, abuse of power, and against federal law. Like numerous others, I have also fallen victim of these deceptive practices by Convergent Outsourcing. I have been proactive in addressing my concerns directly with them before presently resorting to assistance from, and filing complaints with the CFPB and FTC. Below are the details of my complaint for which Convergent Outsourcing should be held accountable for not adhering to established statues in FCRA. Currently there is an inaccurate account from Convergent Outsourcing on my XXXX and XXXX credit reports that I have disputed the validity of multiple times through certified US mail. Unfortunately I have not received a response from Convergent Outsourcing nor have the inaccuracies been sufficiently addressed or updated on my credit report. I am able to furnish copies of the letters and the dates in which they were sent upon request. I do not believe my disputes were thoroughly investigated in a timely manner in accordance and compliance with FCRA ( a ) ( 8 ). Under the Open Date field on credit reports obtained directly from the credit bureaus as recently as the date of this complaint, the account in question displays either Invalid Date or a non-compliant DOFD. I am able to furnish copies of these reports showing this egregious reporting upon request. According to FCRA 623 ( a ), Convergent Outsourcing is in violation of this statue and must be held accountable to their duty as a furnisher to report accurate information. With such inaccurate and arbitrary reporting of important information such as the DOFD to the credit bureaus, theoretically, how is any consumer supposed to clearly set the exclusion date for a collection? Federal statue recognizes that the source for determination of the DOFD is the creditor under which the delinquency occurred. This date shall be based only on the DOFD on the account with the original creditor and not on any other date related to the collection, such as the open date of the collection. Failure to provide a date at all, a date not in compliance with the FCRA or an invalid date shall deem the reporting itself invalid and in blatant violation of consumer rights under federal law. In furtherance of this complaint, I implore the CFPB for their assistance in my request that Convergent Outsourcing provide account validation consisting of the following : 1 ) Disclosure of whether they obtained the DOFD from the original creditor and if so, the exact date. 2 ) Original date of default and commencement of their collection activities. 3 ) The dates through which the debt allegedly accrued. 4 ) Whether or not the debt was purchased and if so, the date and the amount paid. 5 ) The original application or contract bearing my signature. Please be advised that the requested validation documentation above I am legally entitled to request under the FDCPA 15 U.S.C. 1692g. A copy of a bill or a statement of monies due does not constitute verification or validation of debt. If validation can not be established, I respectfully request Convergent Outsourcing remove all active, inaccurate, derogatory reporting from the credit bureaus and cease any efforts to re-report the debt through illegal re-aging practices in the future.

Consumer Complaint: A written complaint was sent XX/XX/2018 asking the company to VERIFY that the account belonged to me. The company responded on XX/XX/18 advising they didn't own the account and collection efforts would cease. I have recently received the same communication on this account ( which I did not request as the situation was handled previously ) and it has been added back to my credit report under this Agency. I am requesting that this be removed in accordance to previous responses.

Consumer Complaint: I received a claim from XXXX and Convergent for amount owed of {$220.00} with client account XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. This claim is incorrect and not owed. Convergent Outsourcing XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, WA XXXX Mess started when I tried to cancel XXXX XXXX services XX/XX/XXXX for final billing and cancellation. I had been with company for more than 8 years with on-time payments. Rates increased again, so I decided to change to competitor. Called again XX/XX/XXXX for final billing, cancellation and status of return packaging for the DVR. DVR Box confirmed received by XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. Confirmation XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Received another bill from XXXX. Called XX/XX/XXXX to cancel yet again. Proration clarified for {$170.00}. I paid amount owed on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX. Received another bill from XXXX. Called XX/XX/XXXX. Agent claimed account active and I signed up for another 2 years of services. Agent claimed cancellation fees owed for early termination. I responded why on earth would I return my DVR box and cancel my service, and then agree for 2 years of new service? The XXXX agent supposedly adjusted my account. Yet another bill received. I called XX/XX/XXXX. Agent noted confirmation XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for cancellation XX/XX/XXXX. Submitted complaint to Better Business Bureau via online service. Another bill received from XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX. Called yet again to Financial Services Department of XXXX, spoke with Sianthia XXXX XX/XX/XXXX after bill received. Agent stated {$0.00} balance on account and paid in full. Letter would be received in 3-5 days. Received letter from Convergent dated XX/XX/XXXX stating {$220.00} owed. Agent clarified that XXXX owns the debt, not Convergent. Provide backup by fax XXXX and email XXXX. Agent clarified that once letter received from XXXX, then Convergent will close out. I faxed XXXX confirmation that account closed. XXXX XXXX debt collection agency sent letter XX/XX/XXXX. Replied back with mailed copied of XXXX close out letter. XX/XX/XXXX Convergent letter received yet again attempting to collect on closed amount. Advice to others is to return any DVR box and equipment to a person in a XXXX store, no matter how inconvenient the location or timing. Receive receipt for equipment and {$0.00} owed. Returning via equipment return box provided by XXXX XXXX is NOT sufficient action and will result in more than a year and tens of hours of wasted time.
