Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing, Inc. is a collection agency based out of XXXX, Washington. I have received multiple letters from Convergent whos creditor is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The collection letter states that I owe a balance of {$3900.00} and that payment must be received in ( 60 ) days of the date of the letter. The attached letter is dated XXXX. The letter goes on to say that if I pay this collection, the client will cease further collection efforts. This is a scam and a completely unsubstantiated collection. I have not now, nor in the past, used XXXX. I do not have a XXXX account. This attempt to collect a debt I do not owe could cause serious issues with my credit reporting. I have contacted Convergent to resolve this matter however, I have not been successful. I respectfully request that an inquiry into Convergent be launched and any collection proceeding against me be stopped immediately.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a Collections Notice from Convergent Outsourcing dated XX/XX/XXXX, to pay {$210.00} within 30 days or be reported as delinquent to the credit bureaus ( copy attached ). This was the result of my complaint about XXXX 's billing practices that I had filed with the FCC on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Convergent Outsourcing and told the account representative XXXX that I had been in the process of disputing XXXX 's actions with the FCC. She told me she would put the Collections Notice " In Dispute ''. This will give me extra time to settle this matter I had complained about the fact that XXXX had suddenly stopped billing me in XX/XX/XXXX. From XX/XX/XXXXuntil XX/XX/XXXX, I had received bills by mail. After that, I received a monthly SMS text bill through XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I did not receive any bills. In XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX and talked to XXXX, who told me that I would be billed by email. My inbox remained empty. On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid XXXX {$69.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I started getting loud, abusive robocalls from XXXX dunning me for money. They were also hijacking my voicemails, then they cancelled my phone service. After the FCC served XXXX with my complaint, Mr. XXXX emailed me and asked to talk to me. I made a Call Report, attached. I have documented the communications between XXXX and myself in the attachments file. 1 ) Collections Notice 2 ) Call Report XX/XX/XXXX 3 ) XXXX letter 4 ) My rebuttal, 1st letter 5 ) Call Report XX/XX/XXXX 6 ) XXXX letter, p. 1 7 ) XXXX letter, p2 8 ) My rebuttal, 2nd letter

Consumer Complaint: This is my second last complaint I am filing in regards to convergent outsourcing. Upon speaking with supervisor today he hung up directly on my face ( call did not drop ). I took care of an account with them back in 2017 AND I WAS STATED THAT IT WOULDNT BE REPORTED ON MY CREDIT REPORTS. fast track to today, and I've been allocating well over 20 hours per week to fix this matter ( started a week ago ) each and every single representative that I am speaking with is lying to me and furthermore I do not apprecite the hang up by the supervisor. This company has been an absolute nightmare to work with and I am in the process of getting an attorney. They have wasted so much of time and are extremely unprofessional.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Over five years after cancelling my XXXX cell phone account in 2013, due to a permanent move to another state, a collection appeared on my credit report stating I owe XXXX over {$2700.00}. At no time did I receive regular billing statements or notice of any account activity. I called XXXX and they confirmed that I owed that amount but could not provide any details as to what the charges were for or exactly when accrued. They were at a loss as to how or why the account would have been allowed to grow to that amount without some kind of action on their side. My account was paid in full when cancelled. Either this charge is fraud by a third party, fraudulent business practices by XXXX, or the failure of XXXX to properly close out my account. In any case, the charge is incorrect and I demand this debt be deleted and the collection removed from my credit reports. If not done so, legal action will be taken.
