Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received an ALERT from XXXX. I immediately signed on to my account to verify information from the alert, There was a collection from Convergent Outsourcing for a XXXX account from XX/XX/XXXX.I contacted Convergent at that time to ask why hadn't I received a notice from them before reporting to the Credit Bureaus. Upon talking to XXXX the Convergent Rept. I learned a letter was mailed out, so I asked what address did she mail it to, at that point she gave me the wrong address so then I told her I would contact XXXX for further investigation and I mentioned to her I would dispute this account due to those reasons. Well XXXX decided to report my account AGAIN days later and added the comment that I disputed it which was UNTRUE as of today I have NOT disputed anything.I also mentioned to her there are Rules and Rights before taking matters into your own hands. In XX/XX/XXXX I had 2 XXXX, 2 cell phones and 2 watches. Due to the High Prices XXXX was charging I was able to get a lower price at XXXX XXXX XXXX. I upgraded my devices when I did the switch. Being in a contract with XXXX for 2 years those devices should have been paid off actually. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted XXXX to update my email and mailing address, Just in case I did have a balance and they could forward me the balance. According to what is was if I was able to pay out right I would have if not I could have made payment arrangements.Anything to save the headache of damaging my credit. after contacting XXXX I was notified no one had updated my information in XX/XX/XXXX, In other words I have to pay for their mistakes. There is something suspicious about the whole situation Ms XXXX the collections supervisor from XXXX has been constantly contacting me trying to get me to go to XXXX and update my information so that it can look as if they already had my updated information, when I asked her what address did she send my final bill to AGAIN that was the wrong address so in other words I never received a final bill from XXXX. So I assumed I was paid up, now that it was a my Statue Of Limitations they decided to send it to a collection agency. I even asked XXXX from Convergent to REMOVE this off my credit report and XXXX the collection agency to remove this from my credit report and own up to their mistakes. I will accept their apology work out a payment plan from her on out and move forward. But this has to be in an email to me and removed first. I did mention I would report this to CFPB and my Local Attorney general 's Office if not resolved in 30 days. Attached is where XXXX and Convergent is ALERTING on this account constantly meaning 2 times in the SAME month which is ILLEGAL and needs to be investigated every time there is a reporting my score drops before CONVERGENT my score was XXXX XXXX now I'm at a XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I opened* an account with XXXX XXXX in an attempt to switch cellular providers. After receiving the first billing overview, and per the Device Payment Agreement Terms, it is the borrowers right to cancel within fourteen ( 14 ) days. In exercise of this right I decided to cancel* the XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX because the billing charges did not match the information advertised military rates when I signed up. I placed a call to XXXX ( XXXX ) to confirm if the charges were accurate ; spending twenty-five minutes on the line ( attachment D ). I returned the three devices, and was refunded the {$800.00} that I paid towards the devices. The {$800.00} refund* posted my credit card on XX/XX/XXXX. In response to a letter* dated XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX ( 22min ) ; XXXX at XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ; XXXX at XXXX. This letter threatened to send my supposedly closed account to collections. Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing Incorporated has been relentlessly harassing me with debt collection phone calls for the past few months. They have been using deceptive tactics to harass me such as using an VOIP number to spoof the local area code of the harassment victims number. Also when questioned, they will not divulge they are a collection agency on the phone.I would like to sue Convergent Outsourcing Inc. for the maximum {$1500.00} per harassing phone call made to this number. They are attempting to trick me into making a payment on old zombie debt years passed the Statute Of Limitations in order to reset the SOL making old zombie debt legally actionable again. I am aware of my rights and the laws regarding debt past the Statute Of Limitation and I WILL NOT be making any payments now or ever on old zombie debt past the SOL. I am requesting that Convergent Outsourcing Incorporated Cease and desist any and all attempt to contact me again or make any further collection attempts on the account associated with the phone number listed above.
