Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing is reporting a debt on my credit file that I do not owe. This debt is past the statute in California, and also it is really old and shouldn't be on my credit.

Consumer Complaint: I received an alert that I have a collection on my SSN with XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX by Convergent Outsourcing. My immediate action was to check the details. The collection was referring to a XXXX account opened in XXXX, XXXX and the amount was {$430.00}. I have NEVER had a XXXX account. I informed XXXX right away that this is not my collection. I sent a complaint XXXX ID # XXXX XXXX to Convergent Outsourcing on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I provided Convergent Outsourcing with my SSN on XXXX XXXX, XXXX to investigate and remove this false record I sent an e-mail requesting confirmation that they've received everything needed to work on my case on XX/XX/XXXX Since I have received nothing from Convergent till today, I sent a second complaint ( ID # XXXX ) to them on XXXX XXXX, XXXX with all pertaining facts. My problem is that they dropped a collection out of nowhere on my SSN, and the strangest fact is that they are collecting for the provider XXXX where the account was dated XXXX XXXX. I have never used this provider!

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to contact Convergent outsourcing collection agency for two month total to settle a debt. I have sent them 3 letters, two of a settlement for the debt and another For a verification of the debt. I have also submitted an online contact form ( the only way to email them ) and never gotten a response until yesterday ( XX/XX/2020 ) via phone. I tried contacting them to return the missed phone call and the phone Just rung for the operator. On XX/XX/2020 I finally was able to speak with a representative to pay the debt although I received no verification of my ownership after a written request. I paid to settle the debt on XX/XX/2020 and was told that I could not have a receipt emailed to me. I got no receipt for my payment. I am very displeased with the lack of response from this collection agency and because of that it took two unnecessary months to settle this un verified debt. I have certified mail receipts and copies of all letters that I will gather for further investigation

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: A company by the name of convergent outsourcing Inc . Contacted me via postal mail a few months ago saying that I owe them {$1000.00}. They claim it to be A debt from XXXX XXXX then in the very beginning of XX/XX/2020 I wrote to them asking them to validate this alleged debt. What What they sent in reply to my request by no means meets legal debt validation. All it is is a typed up document done on a computer with a list of transactions and the name and date on the top. This by no means validates this as being mine. if you do a XXXX search with my name well over 50 people come up in the US alone with the exact same name as me. So it could be anyone of those people that share the same name as I, that owe this alleged debt, but its not me that does! It scary how a debt collector can just randomly come after a person for a debt that they dont owe simply because they share the same name as the person who does. So if Im not mistaken I believe there are laws that protect consumers from this sort of thing, and thats why the debt collector has to validate with personal, identifiable information thats indisputable as to who the debt belongs to.

Consumer Complaint: Hello Please review my attachments. I received this documentation on the mail. Ive been living at this address for 4 years and never received any type of collection debts. Why? Because I have no outstanding debts or no late payments ( Credit scores XXXX plus score on all 3 bureaus.. ) on my credit reports. Again see my attachments. My credit history and financial worthiness in 2020 speaks volumes. In the past in my military years while married I did have debt dues, while trying to survive with no handouts and based on hard work dedication and focus. A no excuses mentality. Review my attachments and then let me know please. Retired XXXX XXXX Long Time Viable Citizen
