Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: The phone comes up on my caller ID as Convergent. I saw they had called me a couple of times in a day and I went and looked them up. I found that they were a supposed debt collection agency. Most of the information I found lead to me doubting their authenticity. Since then, they have been calling me everyday, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. This has been going on for a little over two weeks ( since the beginning of XXXX ). I am up to date with all my payments, I have never had a late payment, and the medical bills Ive had I had set up payment plans and have payed them off on time. Therefore, there is no possibility of being called by any debt collector. I have an impecable credit history so i very much hope that these false claims stop and do not affect it.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2019 a debt collection account for {$130.00} from Convergent Outsourcing started reporting on my credit score. A couple of month later in XXXX, I received a settlement offer from the company. The letter stated they were working on behalf of XXXX. I reached out to XXXX about the alleged debt, who only redirected me to Convergent Outsourcing. On XX/XX/19 I submitted a letter to Convergent Outsourcing requesting verification of the debt by providing a contract with my wet signature. I waited 30 calendar days for a response and I received nothing back from the company. I reached out by mail to all three credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ) requesting this debt collection account be deleted from my credit report because Convergent Outsourcing failed to validate the debt within the allocated time frame of 30 days. XXXX deleted the account from my report but XXXX did not and directed me to reach out the Convergent Outsourcing again. I called Convergent Outsourcing on XX/XX/2019, I spoke to a lady named XXXX. I expressed to her what was going on and how I requested validation that I still never got. XXXX verified my address and said she could send a letter to my house. Yet to this date I have not received a contract with my wet signature confirming this is my debt from Convergent Outsourcing.

Consumer Complaint: I recently obtained a copy of my credit report and was shocked to see a collection from Convergent Outsourcing in the amount of {$590.00}. The original creditor is XXXX. On XX/XX/2020, I made efforts to dispute and remove this account from my file via credit reporting company XXXX to no avail. I do not own this collection. This erroneous information has resulted in me being denied credit as well as less than favorable credit terms. I am filing a complaint to the FCC about XXXX to fix this issue as well.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I was offered a settlement of XXXX by convergent outsourcing for a past due debt I had with XXXX XXXX. This would close the account and it would noted as paid in full. I agreed to this amount and paid the balance that same day. I was told I would receive an email confirmation but never did. On Saturday XX/XX/2020 I checked my credit report and it showed the balance had decreased and I still owed money. I called XX/XX/2020 and was told by their representative that they saw I was offered a settlement and it had been paid, but they were waiting on XXXX XXXX to close the account. When I asked why they did not report the payment as a settlement to the credit bureau they said it takes 30 days which is why I still saw a balance. I contacted XXXX because this did not sound correct and I wanted to verify with them as well. I spoke with a representative and she saw that a payment had been made and there was a lower balance. I asked if she could see anything stating this was a settlement and the account would e closed. She stated she did not and would call the convergent outsourcing and try to get a little more clarification. She was put on hold multiple times and given the run around. Finally she got a hold of someone and when she went to conference me in they hung up! She stated that she was told by a representative that they had already spoken to me and that she had no business calling. She was just as mind blown as I was when she heard that. I have every right to go behind and double check who I am sending my money to when it comes to me paying off debts. XXXX XXXX also has a right to know how their clients money is being handled especially if the choose this debt collector to work with their clients. Convergent Outsourcing is incredibly unprofessional and will make you feel uncomfortable about how your finances are being handled.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX XXXX claimed a debt was owed to them - in XX/XX/XXXX this account was filed as identity theft and removed from my record. Convergent Outsourcing, a debt collector, is reporting this account on my credit report. I have informed them this account does not belong to me. I have informed them this account was the result of identity theft. They refuse to remove the account from my credit reports. They are still attempting to collect on this fraudulent account. I requested validation of their claim on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. They replied with statements of an account which is not mine. They failed to show any proof that the debt belongs to me. I requested any documentation showing my signature on the account - they provided a falsified contract with no signature from me, only a blank area where a signature should be. I informed them they are not only illegally attempting to collect on a fraudulent account but also reporting illegally to the bureaus under their own name as opposed to the name of the original creditor in violation of Mass General Laws : o940 CMR 7.07 : General Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices : It shall constitute an unfair or deceptive act or practice to engage in any of the following practices to collect or attempt to collect any debt : ( 15 ) Using any business, company or organization name other than the true name of the creditors business, company or organization I have informed Convergent of these issues three times via certified mail. They have failed to comply with federal or state debt collection regulations.
