Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I have two accounts that do not belong to me on my XXXX credit report ; Convergent Outsourcing , Inc and XXXX XXXX XXXX. I filed a dispute with XXXX and received a response on XX/XX/2017 that the accounts were " verified and updated ''. I filed a second dispute with XXXX as well as contacted Convergent Outsourcing multiple times by phone and mail requesting validation and physical proof that the debt is mine. Convergent sent me a letter on XX/XX/2017 stating " we have completed our investigation and reported our findings to the credit agency ''. They did not give me the results or proof. XXXX responded with the account has been " verified and updated '' and stated they would not investigate these matters anymore unless I provided documentation. How am I supposed to provide documentation that an account doesnt belong to me? So, I am stuck with damaging inaccurate information on my credit report and no recourse except litigation. Now Convergent Outsourcing has listed ANOTHER fake account on my credit report ( not XXXX ). I am hoping to resolve the matter through the CFPB rather than a FCRA attorney. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Consumer Complaint: Convergent is reporting a debt owed on my credit report that I have repeatedly informed convergent and the credit bureaus that the debt is not mines. I have submitted disputes to the credit bureaus asking them to validate the debt. The 1st initial dispute they responded back that the debt had been validated and put comments on my credit report debt validated/consumer still disagrees. I contacted them and asked in what way did they validate debt, who did they validate with and could they send me copies of all documents which made them come to this decision. They never did. I later receive mail.from convergent the debt collection agency with 1 page of a phone bill from XXXX with my name on it and four phone numbers that I have never seen in my life and they have a box checked off stating the debt IS valid. I called convergent and spoke to a rep. The rep.stated she could NOT find an account with the account # I gave her. I called XXXX they said once again it was validated .... I called convergent and spoke with a young lady who asked for my ID # and ssn. And birthdate. I believe I gave her my birthdate but none of the other information she requested because she stated she would not be sending me any of the documents or information I requested.I have disputed this item numerous times month after month and they keep saying its validated without showing or providing me any proper proof. I believe my rights have been and are being violated. Every time I dispute it seems they change the original reporting date

Consumer Complaint: I sent XXXX a dispute letter to validate a debt collection on my credit report, and update addresses on my report .I received a response back stating that the debt is valid, and to remove addresses on my report I have to contact the sources directly. XXXX sent no documents from the collection company explaining why. I sent a dispute letter to the collection agency ( convergent outsourcing Inc. ) also. They sent 6 pages of online bills with no signature or any proof that the debt is valid. Two of the pages were ads for XXXX mobile services. The addresses I wanted to remove were attached to public records form over 8 years ago.I just wanted to have current information on my report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX and headquarters. I explained that I had a error on my credit report due to an account open on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX XXXX. XXXX representative looked into the matter but couldn't fine an open account for that date. so I was transferred to fraud and from there they managed to fine the account open on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX fraud department then transferred me to a company called ''Convergent '' to dispute the open account that amounted to {$1100.00}. however, Convergent then transferred me back to XXXX XXXX fraud department and no matters were taken care of. I called XXXX credit bureau for 2 days with no form of a live representative. XXXX XXXX did inform me that the SSN on the open account does not match my own SSN and a different address is used in the open account.

Consumer Complaint: I have sent multiple letters/request to collection agency and the 3 credit bureau 's for validation of amount owed. ( {$500.00} ) First one to collection agency was delivered XX/XX/XXXX, waited 30 days, did not get a reply. Sent follow-up letter on XX/XX/XXXX, delivered XX/XX/XXXX as to why I did not get a reply to my validation request and that they are violating FDCPA.. then all of a sudden I received a response letter on XX/XX/XXXX ( dated XX/XX/XXXX?! ) with a photo copy of a itemized bill from creditor dated XX/XX/XXXX. ( I guess this is the no response/delayed response sent for first letter. Still was outside of the 30 days allowed.. ) I replied the next day and had to send 2 of the same letters, ( 1 was never delivered, lost in USPS system in collections agency zip code since XX/XX/XXXX, the replacement second letter was mailed weeks later, XX/XX/XXXX and delivered on XX/XX/XXXX informing them that a bill does not meet the Federal Trade Commissions guidelines of what constitutes proper debt validation and cited case law as fact and proof. As of this writing I just received the exact same itemized bill dated XX/XX/XXXX as well as a second itemized bill dated XX/XX/XXXX. That letter sent by the collection agency for some reason is dated XX/XX/XXXX, the same day my last letter to them was delivered! Strange! Don't know if that was a response to my letter that was delivered on XXXX XXXX.But because of this non-compliance from collection agency and the 3 credit bureau 's , this negative acct is being reported continuously by all 3 bureau 's as updated & verified. I am currently in dispute with them for this acct. I also informed all 3 bureau 's that I have contacted the collection agency multiple times to validate debt, which they have not. Letters that were sent to collection agency were also sent to the 3 bureau 's with tracking info as proof of me asking collection agency to validate. I now have to ask the CFPB to investigate & help me with this.
