Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Hi CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING, INCXXXX ; XXXX ; Im confused and stressed and shocked when I reviewed my credit report this week and I found multiple inaccuracies on my credit report from the 3 major credit bureaus from a collection company that I never have dealt with before. I've attempted several times to ratify the issue with the original creditors and credit bureaus and they still reporting inaccurate, unverifiable information. I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. In the event you transfer this account to an attorney without providing proof of contract, and proving your claim, he/she will be immediate reported to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for code of ethics violations.

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing is reporting a debt on my credit file that I do not owe. I have talked to my Attorney General and am aware that this debt is past the statute of limitations in Utah. Not only that, this debt is past the credit reporting limit and must be removed. You are in violation of my rights under the FCRA and the FDCPA so this debt must be removed. If not, I will have no alternative than to exercise whatever rights and remedies we have under the laws not excluding pursuing legal suit against Convergent.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I received a phone call from a debt collector who did not identify themselves saying they were collecting a debt on behalf of XXXX around XX/XX/XXXX. I did not recognize the charge and pressed for more details. They said I owed XXXX for a trade in that did not happen. When I pressed for more details the collector said they had mailed a letter out explaining it the day before they had called me. I informed the person on the line that I would take no action until I received something in writing. They then hung up on me. I immediately called the financial institution that houses my XXXX financing account. They had no clue what the XXXX debt was and had no records of selling a XXXX dollar debt or sending it to a collection agency. And I have received no written communications or phone calls from XXXX itself to communicate any sort of outstanding debt. After, I verified my account was up to date and paid. I received a letter in the mail from a company called " Convergent Outsourcing on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WA XXXX '' charging the XXXX. Dated for XX/XX/XXXX. On the back of the letter it says that unless the office is notified in 30 days, that you are disputing the charge, that they will consider the debt valid. A quick search shows many upset consumers are saying that this company has fraudulently charged them and negatively impacted their credit reports. Many other people have been charged for accounts that they do not own. I will not pay this collections notice until I receive verification from XXXX or my financing institution that this debt is legitimate.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent XXXX and Convergent Outsourcing ( original creditor XXXX XXXX account # XXXX ) a followup letter regarding an alleged debt collection on my credit report by the company " Convergent Outsourcing ''. XXXX has responded to my verification letters sent on the the aforementioned dates above. XXXX has sent me a letter dated XXXX stating that the collection account has been DELETED but the account still remains on my credit profile. The account numbers shown on the letter sent from XXXX are different from the account number shown on my actual credit profile. It has now been over 30 days since the original dispute on XX/XX/XXXX. They are in violation of my rights under the " Fair Credit Act '', for not removing inaccurate information off my account of this alleged debt on my credit report that is affecting my credit scores and ability to obtain credit. I demand that they immediately remove this debt upon receipt of this notice. Further more, I have also submitted a complaint here with both XXXX and the creditor, Convergent Outsourcing, for their failure to remove the alleged collection account on my credit report. Consumer Complaint: Cancelled XXXX 3 months ago. Today XX/XX/XXXX. When I switched to XXXX XXXX the day after I called XXXX to get receipts and final bill. My on line account was canceled so I could view my last billing cycle so I could be reimbursed on my expense from my employer. Nor would they tell life if owed anything for final payment. They said they would send a hard copy for XX/XX/XXXX which was paid auto draft as had for many years. They never did. Now they want multiple months after I cancelled. Today I received a collections notice from a company called Convergent for {$580.00}. The reason I cancelled is because had increased by well 50 % over two year period. My new server is 50 % less with brand new phones. I will not pay a dime more to XXXX. XXXX is a criminal organization. I am concerned about credit being effected which is perfect at the moment.
