Consumer Complaint: I received an ad to apply and pre-qualify for a American Express credit card, after going through and getting prequalify for three different cards I applied to only find out my application was denied. I contacted their customer service to go over the situation, they stated that because of my credit score my application was denied. This is something they were able to review when I went through the pre-qualification process and performed a soft inquiry on my credit report. This seems like a bait and switch to get a persons foot in the door with the pre approval and listing the cards that you qualify for them denying a person after they apply.

Consumer Complaint: American Express has taken a {$400.00} check from me, cashed it, and has refused to credit my account. I have spent countless hours, calling and emailing information to get this resolved. Current Representatives Involved in this dispute : - XXXX, American Express Global Collections, Supervisor : Part of the main department giving out false and conflicting information. I was on a recent call with all the individuals listed above and both XXXX and XXXX are taken back that this has not been resolved. The have held my money hostage for 6 months with crediting the account or refunding my money. I have reached out to American Express over 20 times since XX/XX/XXXX and here we are in XXXX of XXXX and American Express denies having the payment and continues to close my open cases. Even though the check sent directly from XXXX XXXX bill pay ( I have provided proof of payment below ) CLEARLY shows the bank account number on the check. Also that the check was endorsed and cashed by American Express. The same bank account number where I have sent past payments, to which the account has been credited. Furthermore, American Express has been reporting this account incorrectly to the credit bureaus causing damage to my credit because of this misinformation. I have also filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX. Still I everytime I call and speak with supervius they are asking the same exact questions over and over again ( For example. When was check sent out? ). If a case has been opened that information should have been in there. Based on the way this is being handled I am sure I am not the only one that has suffered at the mercy of this department.

Consumer Complaint: I opened an account with Americal express in XXXX this card was XXXX XXXX which was recently upgraded to XXXX XXXX preferred with a credit line of XXXX. The second card was opened in XXXX it was a Delta Airline Amex Gold credit card with a total line of credit of XXXX. By the start of XXXX, I checked my credit report and it showed my limit on Blue card preferred is XXXX/XXXX and Delta Golds card is XXXX/XXXX. After seeing that I called the customer service on their number and none of the representatives/agents could tell me what is the reason and instead of helping they became unprofessional and kept transferring me to the supervisors. All of this impacted my score so badly and further led to a cascade of events that led to financial crises. This has increased my Debit Ratio. I can't be approved for house loans that I was about to apply for. Amex has been notorious about this recently. My point is in case of any financial crisis this company will further kick you the edge despite having an excellent payment history, no missed payments, and no loyalty benefit even no courtesy call.

Consumer Complaint: Beginning with its statements in XX/XX/2020, American Express began including a " minimum payment '' amount to cardholders of pay-in-full cards. Cardholders who paid the minimum payment and not the full amount were tricked into changing their card terms from pay-in-full to pay-as-you-go, earning extra interest and late fees for the company. The company says a notice was sent to customers, but the notice is inadequate. It should state on both the website payment portal and in the statement that paying the minimum due will materially change the terms of your AmEx account, and the impact could mean thousands of dollars in additional interest and late fees.

Consumer Complaint: I was part owner in a company and we were looking for a credit card to use for company purchases. I applied with the companys XXXX, but since we hadnt been in business very long, I also had to use my own ssn and credit to be approved. Ultimately I left the company by selling my shares to other owner. The American Express card was on the books and was used only for company expenses. It continued to be used by company before they started being late on payments to the point of account being closed. Ultimately after awhile, the card was finally paid off, but shows on my personal credit report as a negative report with delinquencies and as closed by creditor. During this time, I spoke to American Express several times and told them who they needed to call to inquire about payments, as I was no longer with the company. Went through the process several times to allow them to speak with my previous company. During this time, even though I was communicating with American Express, I started getting calls that they were calling every one of my family members multiple times each and identifying themselves saying they needed to speak to me regarding this account. They were also calling casual friends multiple times the same way. I was not only mortified and embarrassed, but also horrified that besides family, friends I hardly know were now aware that a credit card company was trying to collect payments owed. I have already disputed the negative report on my credit, but just learned that they are only permitted to call family/friends one time. I want something done about this. I went through terrible XXXX due to every person I know being aware of a financial issue that was agreed to be taken care of until paid off by the company I was no longer associated with.

Recently my friend authorized me to make a purchase for him, since he was unable to receive it at his address. He added his debit card to my bluebird account as a funding source, and provide me with a power of attorney to use it. After that he transferred to my bluebird {$600.00}, and I transferred to it over {$100.00}, and bluebird sent me an email that they suspended my bluebird amex card, and by phone they told me that for remaining balance I had to write to Bluebird Customer Care XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, GA XXXX I'm expecting my direct deposit later this month, and I rely on it to pay for my rent and food, but the card is suspended, the customer service is in XXXX, and that address is registered for various prepaid cards with tons of negative reviews and bunch of complaints. There are multiple companies ' names with different phone numbers listed under that address, and nobody there knows what is going on, asking me to write them a letter to XXXX.
