Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX continues to send negative information to credit bureaus regarding my accounts. I have been sued by my own family, have had my XX/XX/2018 tax refund wrongly taken by the US Department of Education ( {$2000.00} ) which I included in a separate CFPB complaint, and have been facing eviction in my current place of residence. I have also had a lack of food due to lack of money. Because the US Department of Education failed to return my {$2000.00} tax refund or give me a reason as to why it was not returned to me, my car was repossessed. Now, looking at my credit report, I can not qualify to buy a new car because my credit has been negatively reported by XXXX XXXX, who is contracted by the US Department of Education. I would like them to take the false, negative information off my credit report. Mutliple contracted agencies are taking advantage of my terrible financial situation and I want it to stop. I want XXXX XXXX, along with ALL US Department of Education contractors to discontinue negative reporting on my credit. You are beating a dead horse. I have been faced with multiple evictions ( one because of the US Department of Education ) and have had my car repossessed because again, my refund was not returned to me. And now, as I try to fix the problem the US Department of Education and their contractors created ; they have sent numerous negative comments about my credit. The US Department of Education and their contractors need to work with me, not against me. I need to be able to buy a car and live my life. I have NO other negative marks on my credit, except for what the US Department of Education and their contractors have submitted. I am asking you to stop, it Is ruining my life.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, My initial loans were federal loans, which I then consolidated with one of the larger companies ... XXXX XXXX, I believe. Seven years ago, my loan was bought by another company, American Education Services. The main problem I am having is this : Many months, I would send in more than the minimum payment, typically {$20.00} or so. Some months ( only a handful ), if I had forgotten that I made a payment already, I made two full payments of {$130.00}. About two months ago, my minimum payment was raised from {$130.00} to {$290.00}. This is due to the ORIGINAL consolidation terms being a balloon repayment plan. ( That is a whole other story to get into later ). I started looking into my loan payments and balance amounts at this point, however, and realized that for almost two straight years, not a single amount of my monthly payment went toward the principal of the loans. During the other years, anywhere between 5 to 7 of the 12 payments during those years saw the same situation - not a single amount of the payment going to principal. I sent them an email questioning them on this, and they send back some XXXX information about how, in their opinion, they do not have to put money toward the principal, that they can allocate the money toward interest for the next month.

Consumer Complaint: So I have tried and tried and done so year after year. I did not sign or even apply for a Federal Student Loan. I still think the School that I so called attended had something to do with this by taking advantage of me I feel the school Falsely certified my eligibility to receive the loan based on my ability to benefit from its training, I also feel the school signed my name on the application or promissory note without my authorization, or the school endorsed my loan check or signed your authorization for electronic funds transfer without your knowledge. After finding out I was an apparent student I withdraw from school after learning a so called loan had been opened in my name, I also think the school should be required to return part or all of this loan money.

Consumer Complaint: American Education Services Management needs to make a concerted effort to improve the AES website for borrowers AND co-signers. I am a cosigner for my daughter and recently attempted to setup recurring payments to her loan account while she's in school. There appears to be one option to setup recurring payments, snail mail to XXXX, PA, then watch and wait to see when change is actually implemented ( no indication of whether payment amount can be changed at later date as loan amounts grow without submitting another snail mail form ). Before throwing in the towel and surrendering to the snail mail form ( s ), I'm going to get my daughters login information to see whether i can withdraw direct from my account from her account. This process is nothing like other online processes, as online banking/bill and loan payment, online investment houses, online shopping, etc. AES Has made an already frustrating process even more miserable. Someone who understands the process needs to redesign your website and simplify the online payment process for both the borrower AND the cosigner. I suggest using online banking with online bill and loan payment options as your guide.

Consumer Complaint: There are several companies involved in my dispute : XXXX XXXX XXXX ( which turned out to be a scam ), XXXX, XXXX, and now XXXX. A very long story short : I was enrolled in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program ( so I thought ), and was misled by the first three companies who told me that all of the payments I was making ( including in the Standard Plan were part of the necessary qualifying plan. XXXX claims they will only count 11 payments I have made toward the program instead of the 5 years worth that should be counted. It even states directly on the XXXX website that the Standard plan is a qualifying plan for PSLF.

Consumer Complaint: Joined the XXXX XXXX in 2016 and had to be gone for 25 weeks. Called the XXXX and requested a payment deferment/forbearance and got approved but still reported 5 months on 5 different tradelines late. Have tried to explain to that I had a forbearance was approved for that period and had not to be reported late. At first, they denied any forbearance approval in the past since they could not see anything in their system. But the grace of XXXX, they recently researched and found the letter. However, I have tried to get them to remove those late multiple times but they insist that their reporting accurate.
